Completely exceeded my expectations! My mom and I stopped by Fastimes to check it out as we were planning my nephew's 16th birthday party - what a cool spot for a celebration. We were immediately greeted with a big smile from a gentleman who proudly shared that he's been working there for 23 years. He took the time to explain everything, from the teen karts (which go up to 30 mph) to the adult karts (up to 40 mph). I was impressed to learn that licensed 16-year-olds can drive the adult karts..neat and a little scary! They offer a private room, though note that private events aren't booked on weekends and reservations aren't taken. However, if it's not busy, the private room is often available. Also, any racer under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian 24 hours in advance. The day of the party, we arrived early since it's first-come, first-served. The ladies at the counter were friendly and set us up in the private room, which was perfect for our group of twelve 16-year-olds. The space is roomy, has AV capabilities, and features a huge window overlooking the track. There's even an order window in the room for added convenience! The food options exceeded my expectations as well--the menu is larger than I expected, and the pizzas and tater tots we ordered were pretty tasty. We'll definitely be back. My daughter had a fantastic birthday party at Fastimes! We were provided with a secluded area at the rear with a shuffleboard and pool table. What a great place. They still use the old school gas go karts. The karts are super fast and they have a double decker course that is fun and challenging. They have an efficient operation so it was a lot of fun and reasonably priced. I would definitely go back again. read more

If you want an actual karting experience come here. I race go karts and own a team, this is the closest you will get to the real thing. No restrictor plates like the other local indoor tracks. I do all my off season training here and would recommend it to anyone. if you have a family with you, your kids will only race with member of your family or friends. You dont have to worry about another adult while they are on track. This track you will feel the speed and g forces. Dont expect to be super first on your first few visits but its and experience you will not get anywhere else. Highly recommend it! read more

Not a family environment. We were there to check it out for a bday party venue for a teenage boy, not even close to being appropriate for kids. The building and parking lot reeks of weed and seemed super sketchy. Sad really as the track looks like fun. Would probably be cool for a 21+ crowd. read more

The manager is just an awful person, yelled at people for not knowing how to strap the helmet. She also reports people when nothing was done. unfortunately since this is the only track within 30 min of my area it js my only choice, if you want a friendly experience i do not suggest this place. Great place to get an adrenaline rush. You'll get these green ski mask looking coverings and neck brace that you put on before the helmet. There's also a safety video you'll need to watch before they put you behind the wheel. You'll be racing for the fastest lap time, so it might be beneficial to wait for other carts to pass you and give yourself some space so you're not running into people on the tight turns. It feels like it goes by fast so we opted to do an additional race. For those who don't want to drive and just watch, there's seating closer to the race track and right up at the top of the track. read more

Some co-workers and I came here recently, wanting to find an Friday afternoon event that would get us out of the office a little early. Our group was too big to all race together, so we split up into two different heats and declared a winner from each one. After signing the waivers and paying (about $20 a person) you head to a room to watch the safety video. Afterwards you get put a racing suit on over your clothes if you want and also grab your neck brace and your helmet. There are also lockers available to store your stuff in, but bring quarters so you can use them. After putting the neck brace and the helmet on, I started to get a little anxious. I couldn't see very well and freaked out a little bit, almost having to bail before I got strapped into the car. If this sort of thing freaks you out, then you might want to reconsider going... I sucked it up and got into the car. The track staff helped me get belted in and then we were off. The course has some pretty decent turns to it that you can spin out on, and the time goes by pretty fast while you're racing. You can see your time on the board... you're racing to get the best lap, not against each other (but it's still fun to act like you are). After the end of the race, my anxiety came right back as I pulled into the pit and worked to get my helmet off as fast as I could. Had it been hot out (and inside), I don't think I would have made it. Seriously a fun place though, and a place I would recommend for friends or co-workers who want to do something a little bit out of the ordinary. read more

LOL this place is great. This is also the place where I realize I drive like a grandma even when I think I am zooming. It was really fun, and I felt safe the entire time, which I think is a really important factor when doing something as exhilarating as this. They had a great deal for 2 rounds for $25, and we ended up spending a good couple hours here. EXHAUST NOTE + G FORCE = ADRENALINE This place is awesome, crazy rush of adrenaline for not too much money! Dinging them for 1 star only on price being average/above average. Fun place to go with friends, you get to see who had the fastest lap time right away on a printout. Not too much to add, cars are fun, they burn gas (more fun in my opinion than K1). They let you wear your own helmet if you don't want to rock one of theirs. They hook you up with a neck brace & my favorite part is that you can slam their cars into the wall as often as you like / you can get pretty reckless before getting flagged, aka get all that recklessness out of your system here & not on the road / real track! Pro Tip: Get the membership, you get a free birthday race & you break even after 2 visits! Also, the venue is in the far back left of the parking lot when you drive in! read more

Neat place. Nice track and viewing area. My 11 yo son loved them, my 13 yo daughter enjoyed them. Definitely a little sore when done, but they are NOT governed go karts, which makes it a lot more fun! They could pass and actually race. A little unorganized, with regards to showing the kids around and getting them fitted for their helmets, but they also let us race at a time that was closing for 18 and older. But staff was friendly!! We had some snacks and drinks, pickle fingers were excellent!! Food was cheap, but raving was a little pricey,but thank goodness my kids were worn out after 2 races! read more

Gotta go with a big group on this one (7-8) so you can race with friends only. Some people are a$$holes and these carts go fast. One guy kept fish tailing people by hitting them in the back right corner on the right turns. Not supposed to do this but unless you wreck the cart the staff doesn't much care. The track itself is quite fun and takes some practice to learn. Started in the 30 second /lap range and finished in the mid 20s. Lots of drifting in this track makes you feel like you will flip but in retrospect I think that's impossible. I hear there is also an outdoor track so I will be back to try that out!! read more

Two level karting action, within the Midwest there isn't any better place. When you're moving at a velocity of 40 mph, it does seem to feel like the kart is moving quicker. Because of the layout you are able to view the track from many angles. Definitely worth a trip. For a one time run around its about $20. read more

The track was fun but the service was awful! We arrived at 7 pm and they told us it would be an hour and half. They don't take reservations but you're allowed to pay for your time and come back. We arrived when they told us to at 8:30 pm. They then tried to sneak 2 other groups in front us and push our start time to 9:45 pm. We had our receipts to prove it and after talking to them to for 15 minutes they finally agreed to let us go at the time we purchased. If you hate fun and fast racing, stay away from fast times. Everyone else, get your ass to fast times, slap on a fire suit and helmet, and race until your arms can't grip the steering wheel anymore. 2 story track, good layout, fast carts. You're racing the clock here, not each other. There is no need to bump as well as there is no need to not let faster carts past you. Good for groups. I started my bachelor party here. It's best when there are just a couple of carts on track at a time because it ensures you have clear track to put down a fast lap. The hotter it is outside, the more likely to will leave nice and sweaty, so plan accordingly. read more

I feel the need, the need for speed. I'm a speed junkie. Love, love, love it. These carts are seriously faster than just about any others I've driven, some are loosy goosy and others are tighter, the key is driving hands on the bottom and not on the top preventing oversteer. Will take a good 3-4 laps to get the feel of the place, you will need to do at least 2 races if your really looking to bang out some good times. If you really want to race you will need no more than 3-4 people on the track at a time, and sorry but Asian chicks as hot as you are cannot drive a go kart. As stated before most anything goes, most of the guys are pretty chill as long as your not a total tool they let you run all out. Earlier times would be ideal, gets pretty packed at night, runs are timed I believe 10 minutes, track record is 22.04 seconds I was able to run a 23.48 after 2 races. You gotta try Fastimes at least once! It is a fun, exhilarating experience, especially with a bunch of friends. Karting on this 2-level track is a blast - the 8 minutes you get to race feels like a really long time! I brought a group of 15 friends to Fastimes last night for my birthday, and the staff were awesome. I had Living Social deals for everyone, which can be a hassle, but they were so helpful and nice despite it being busy - there were a few other big groups there. A bunch of my friends had never been to Fastimes before, and they had a great time. Now I can't wait to go back and try to beat my lap times! read more

WOW WOW WOW I'm surprised there's not more reviews for this place. I had SUCH A BLAST here today! The go-carts here are the fastest go-carts I have ever seen. I can't wait to go back. It's 8mins in a race for time for $22 (apparently they much have increased the price), however I had gotten a deal on Groupon for $20 for 2 races. They also have a yearly deal for $35 dollars where you get 2 free races (one whenever and one on your birth month) and the races thereafter are at a discounted rate. Even though I live over an hour away, I think I may still get this deal! It's sooo much fun. I can't wait to go back! read more

We had a group of 7, and they were happy to let us race as a heat--without anyone for another party. We got there, checked in, watched the training video, picked out helmets, and we were easy to race! During our race, one of the carts had a mechanical issue. The attendant added time to our clock multiple times to compensate for this. They say the average race is 8 minutes, we raced for 16. I was a little beat up after our first race, and they happily refunded my money for the second race ticket I had already purchased. If you go, I suggest wearing longer sleeves--I made the poor decision and had on a tank top. I ended up with some "rug burn" on the tops of my shoulders, and a large bruise on my left arm after after hitting the wall. It was a great time, but not for the timid. I only wish the attendants had been more attentive to helping us choose the right helmet and ensuring that our helmets, seat belts, and neck were secure. We were pretty much on our own in this respect. read more

This place is serious. When I bought the Groupon, I thought it would be a fun afternoon with my 11 year old nephew....NOT EXACTLY. I brought my speed-loving husband (11 year olds are not allowed on the track...). After we put on the full-body fire-retardant suit, neck brace, and fill-on helmet, I started to feel the intensity of the situation. My adrenaline kicked in at precisely the right moment....it was go-time. These "go-carts" are unbelievably fast. You definitely need some technique on the track. This place is fun for adrenaline junkies and definitely not for the faint of heart. Its nice to have an adult place to go for some fun! I've traveled around the US and been to 7 different karting tracks. This is the first track that: A) didn't have my size of suit (which was required) B) didn't have a seat belt that fits. My friends had fun on the track. I had had to wait over an hour and a half o race and THEN find out I couldn't race. They need a better system of vetting overweight drivers. Oh well. My son and I were in town for the MotoGp and we wanted to try out Fastimes because it looks so cool in the photos. The place is very nice compared with most indoor karting tracks. It's very clean and well organized with the staff extremely helpful. The track is fantastic and very challenging, and the karts were quick with good harnesses. We will now be looking for any excuse to come to Indianapolis because the karting is first class. A little pricey, but fun in moderation. We always have fun when we go to fast times. We prefer to go earlier in the day when its less busy. You get 8 minutes for 20 dollars and if you have a lot of new people in your run group or bad drivers that wreck a lot, you can spend quite a bit of that 8 minutes slowed or stopped while they right stuck drivers. Either go early, or take a large group so you can race with people you know (It's more fun to razz the people you beat when you know them as well). Make sure you check their website before you bring children though as they have recently changed the rules regarding minors. read more

These are high speed go-karts and can go up to 40mph - that is quick in a little kart! The track is two stories high, and if you get one of the faster karts you can sometimes catch a little air on that hill! You have to suit up in a racing suit, helmet and neck brace for these as they are not screwing around. As Mike E. notes, it is $20 for 8 minutes, but you can sometimes get Groupons or Living Social deals that make it two for one. Also, if you think you want to race longer than 8 minutes, you are tougher than my husband and I are. It takes much more energy and arm strength to drive these than you would think, at least if you are anywhere near as competitive as we are. They have a line painted on the track to help show you the best line to drive to get the best lap speeds. When on the track, you are racing for the best lap time, not an off the line to the finish sort of race. There's also a snack bar/bar where you can get pizza, nacho, beer, that sort of thing, though I've never had anything from it so I can't attest to the selection or deliciousness.
