    Gotta love bowling carpet
    Kristin U.

Beech Grove Bowl is the kind of place where "everybody knows your name." You want the Cheers of bowling alleys, start going to Beech Grove Bowl. This place is unassuming. It's an older building and there's not a lot of flair like you see in some places that try to be trendy. But Beech Grove Bowl has heart. More than that, they have everything you need--12 lanes, plenty of good food and drinks, music, and arcade games. And they're open (normally) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week... which blows my mind. You could literally go bowl whenever you want to! You want claw machines? They've got claw machines. You want to play some 90s pop while you bowl? You can select on the touchscreen "jukebox." You want to play the world's largest PAC-Man? That's here, too. Wanna bowl with your toddler? They have shoes that will fit their tiny feet, bumpers, and "slides" they can push the ball down. Looking for an adult league or youth bowling program? They've got you covered! It's an older building, but they've done some renovating. My only complaint is there's a bit of a (musty?) smell inside. They do have gluten free pizza crust, so that's a huge plus in my book! My fam loves the calzones and slushies. They even have Dip'N'Dots now. Basically, this is a community place with a lot to offer if you give it a chance. I think you'll see that when you stop by.

Very old. Lanes were uneven and pins were attached to wires. Our lane had lots of problems with locking up. Food was good thank goodness! If you live in the neighborhood, I can see why people spend time there on the weekends. It's close. It's familiar. There are only 12 lanes. We were there for my daughter's 21st birthday and I was embarrassed once everyone showed up. But, it worked out and we made the best of it.

I ended up going to the Beech Grove Bowl on Saturday night January 23rd. Since, there's nothing to do in the city every bowling of that night was sold out. I remember I called bowling alleys as far North as Noblesville which was sold out. I made out there at 8pm, and my wait time was 30mins. Everyone, that went to Beech Grove Bowl only bowled two games, the bowling alley is 24hrs, yet they made sure everyone was able to bowl which was why the limit was two games. The bowling alley is small, goes up to twelve lanes, the front entrance there's no stairs so it's accessible to everyone including if you use a wheelchair, or other devices. Beech Grove Bowl does have a small game room area, they do sell food as well as drinks. You do have to wear your masks coming in, and leaving the bowling alley. I noticed while bowling there were a lot of ppl not wearing their masks. At night the bowling alley glows in the dark, and when bowling it changes to a piano that actually makes noises when the bowling ball is rowing. A little fun fact about Beech Grove Bowl is that it's been open for 24hrs since 1948.

This is not a full review because I stopped in to bowl a couple games to kill time while my dog was at the vet a few blocks away. I was the only person there besides the guy at the counter so I didn't really get the full experience with a packed house. I appreciate that the whole house is non-smoking. I can't believe it's open 24 hours. There must not be a lot to do in Beech Grove at 2 AM if they can afford to stay open all the time. I've heard the pizza is pretty good here so I'll have to come back and try it sometime. Warning: Bowler-speak ahead! The lanes are extremely slick and go long, so come prepared. You may need to bake your ball (or buy a new one) to get any kind of back-end reaction.

It all tasted basic and as expected so that wasn't a let down, but although I live like 5 min or less from location and it was delivered early by DoorDash, everything pretty much arrived cold! The warmest thing was the cheese sauce. The pizza was loaded with meat, the crust soft but edges crispy which I liked. The bosco stick was buttered and topped with Parmesan. It was cold enough though that there was No pull to the cheese inside. The cauliflower was roasted perfectly, still had chew, and topped generously with cheese sauce and lots of bacon! The Mac and cheese bites were dry and didn't have any creamy cheese in them, but the flavor was there. Based on the situation I would say everything had been sitting out precooked for awhile not even under a warmer. Honestly I would order again just because it's local and the flavors were there, I would highly encourage they improve on items being warm at the very least! I have been to the location prior to Covid and it was nice and clean. I believe we had the cheese bread which was really good, at least that's what sticks out in my memory!

This place was a hole in the wall bowling alley. I was a little nervous walking in - felt like I was walking into a saloon (tumbleweed.... tumbleweed) but it was really cute and I think I enjoyed this more than the large commercial bowling alleys. We went on a Wednesday evening (after 8pm) $2 games, $2 shoes. So the price was awesome! We double dated with my brother and his girlfriend and I had been watching YouTube videos all day on how to bowl better and scored the lowest score. So that made me so sad - seeing as the losing couple had to pay for the winning couple :( Anyways I ordered the mini donuts - they were pretty good. We also played a few video games and called it a night. My only complaint was that our pins had to reset 3-4 times and it's a manual re-set so the workers there had to walk to the back and get everything in order before we could bowl again - so that stunk (pee-u). Other than that overall 4-star experience!

Now I will say the bowling alley is a little rough around the edges; it's a little old and could use a face lift.

There was a sign in front of the business pointing you to turn down a steer for parking; next block there is a huge parking lot but no signs saying you can park there for fowling, BUT, it was abundantly marked that cars will be towed. Since there was nothing else around, I assumed it was the right place and parked. Of course I briskly walked to fowling to inquire if I was in the correct space. I was, whew. Those towers can really work fast. Fowling is in a warehouse with other businesses, hence the name. It is huge. We were on lane 32, I believe so there's at least 32 lanes. There is also a corn hole area. There is a bar where they have a decent variety of adult beverages. I went with 3 Floyd's warpig, a hazy ipa. It was really good. The important aspect of fowling is not eating or drinking there, but to interact with the people your with. Sure you can win a game, but the fun is the game itself and the camaraderie with a drink. Our leader looked up the rules prior and explained them. You take turns throwing a football at bowling pins, one set of pins on each end of the lane. There are two lines to throw from, our group guys threw from back and women from front. I watched a group next to us, both men and women threw from front line, it didn't appear to give anyone an advantage. I don't know if the pizza place is part of fowling or a separate business, but we got pizza from Bonk Pizza. It was ok, it was enough to say we were fed. I'm glad I did this and would go again.

Google simply "fowling" and you learn about this odd sport where you combine football and bowling. Just now. Right NOW as I'm writing this, the word fowling finally made (sort of) sense. Football + bowling = fowling. Now I'm even pronouncing the word different with a long "o" sound versus the "ou" diphthong. I had to Google that, too, but once I saw diphthong, I knew it was going in my review. You're welcome for the 5th grade grammar lesson. Please redeem your Pizza Hut personal pan pizza for your hard work. Ok, fowling. It has nothing to do with trapping birds or teaching birds of prey to land on your arm (that's falconry). Nope, it's a game you play with friends and beer. The setup is more like cornhole, but you use bowling pins and throw, that's right, a football. Someone was clearly drunk when this game was invented. But what a great way to bring a group of people together! The Fowling Warehouse specializes in the game of fowling, but has several other activities to enjoy as a group: pool, darts, a few arcade games and a golf simulator. I may go back just for the golf simulator. This is the real deal, a full Trackman set up. It was pretty sweet. Those simulators can be a little intimidating at the PGA Superstore, but it's tucked away in the corner at the Fowling Warehouse where you can shank balls and not feel like a fool. Mostly. There are also two bars and you can order pizza and boneless wings. The bar has a nice selection of beers on tap. They use the magnet cup system where the cup fills from the bottom. My favorite thing was seeing multiple signs on the bar that warn you that if you push the bottom of the cup, you will get wet! And I smiled devilishly thinking about curious people testing their luck with the cups and losing every time. For me, I enjoyed a couple glasses of this blood orange IPA. Delicious and refreshing. The Fowling Warehouse isn't exactly my jam, but I think it's the kind of place that is perfect for a certain crowd who enjoys games and likes a new challenge. And they can handle a large party! If you are looking to try a new sport that feels like it was invented by someone who lost a bet, this place is for you! I kid, but the Warehouse is nice and clean and large! The service was good and everyone seemed to have a great time. Seems like a pretty good spot for your next party if games are your thing! Please note: No birds were injured during the writing of this review.

I came with 4 children on a Friday afternoon at 2:30P.M. Price for one game with shoes for the four came to $29. There were two staff members during our visit. They both worked tirelessly to help service the patrons bowling. Our lanes were switched twice as the bowling balls continued to get stuck. The second lane got to the point where we had 12+ balls stuck on the lane, as we had become tired of going to find help each time a ball was stuck. This really hurt the momentum of the game. And since all the balls continued to accumulate, the kids would miss turns as the sensor would incorrectly assume the balls stuck were gutter balls. The group next to us also continued to have the same issue. I wish we were able to type our names in as well. Names are put in by the staff member checking you in. The gentleman who answered was friendly, efficient and helpful. He quickly checked the schedule for the date I requested and provided the available times for that day. He took my credit card info for the $25 deposit and we were all set! On the day of the party, we arrived and were greeted warmly. Again, the gentleman at the desk was kind and provided service with a smile. I think the cupcakes gave us away because he greeted me by name. Our party was scheduled for 2pm, but several of my guests were going to be late, so when he asked what time the entire group would arrive, I was relieved. They were flexible with us on the start time, so we pushed it back a half hour to give our group time to arrive. We were provided a list for guests' names to be put in the computer and for bowling shoe sizes to be listed. It made everything run smooth and quick. Pizzas were scheduled to come out 30 minutes into our party, and they were right on time. I did have to go ask about our beverages, but those came out rather quickly too. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is due to the ongoing computer malfunctions on our lanes. We had lanes 45-48 initially, but since a few of our guests couldn't make it, we were given 45-47. Immediately, 45 presented itself to be an issue, so that group was relocated to 48. Eventually, 46 began doing the same things. Balls kept getting stuck, pins weren't being counted and the games kept ending prematurely. It was really frustrating. They did comp 2 of the pizzas ($16 value) for the inconvenience, but that really couldn't make up for the fact that some of us never got to finish even one game. Overall, the friendliness of the staff made the difference and my teenagers had a good time. If I were to return, I definitely would not choose to bowl on those lanes!
