I tried to resolve this directly, but the supervisor said he would call "when he has time." It has now been about a week with no follow-up, only contact from assistants. After being presented with an unexpected fee, I called Earl and he didn't take responsibility for not informing me that there could be a chance that the condition of my pipes could be an issue ... at this point I'm remembering to breath and just asking Jesus to take the wheel!! "Supply and install new manufacture required expansion tank and relief valve vent tube" was included in the initial proposal. When I reached the plumber directly, he admitted he was going to call me but chose not to because it was "too late." He claimed the $495 was a "inspection fee" and that an additional $450 would be needed to complete the repair. We had a brief dispute, and I informed him I would pursue this matter through formal channels. I have since disputed the unauthorized charge with my credit card company and am awaiting resolution. Meanwhile, your continued efforts to contact the property owner through third parties to seek payment are inappropriate and unacceptable. They showed up at a random time that we hadn't scheduled, so I wasn't home. My wife let him in and he claims he replaced the core, but when I got home the system still wasn't working. Mind you, I only did this replacement because the tech told me that it was what I needed to do to get my system to work. So when I called to see why it wasn't working, they said they'd have to charge me to come out if it was an issue that existed before his work, even though I only had the work done because he said it would fix it. Now I'm once again waiting on a call back. I initially only wanted one seasonal maintenance visit and was talked into a yearly membership for just $50, which makes sense on the surface. It was a bit embarrassing, frankly, to have a plumber open the valve when we could have done so ourselves to clear the sediment and restore water pressure. Both plumbers were great about explaining their work and the rationale behind it while they were in our home.
