My previous prosthetist wasn't able to provide me with the best care he could have by trying new things as the company seems to have a policy on only using what is the bare necessity of equipment. The current setup I have has allowed me to do things I didn't think I could do. I feel even more confident when I walk and my leg feels lighter. I am using the Ottobock Pro Flex sleeves with the liner having an exposed gel upper so the sleeve seals to the liner not my leg. This new setup has not only improved my mobility but has eliminated the skin damaging blisters I used to get around my leg where the old liner rested. Oh and I also saved money! This is the kind of knowledge and care we need more of. Don't settle when it comes to your care.

I have established patient mind you. She said "who goes to a doctor's office and forgets to bring their insurance card?" I was shamed by her, did not see the doctor, finding a new foot doctor now.

Three years ago I kicked my bathtub. I was not playing soccer with my bathtub or anything wild. I'm just super clumsy. I injured my second toe, and I've had persistent pain issues since then. I saw a podiatrist in Albuquerque, and while he helped some of the immediate pain and swelling, I never got it under control. It turns out it was not just the injury but the shape of my foot genetically causing these issues I am having. Dr. St. Louis helped explain more about my foot than I knew before and why the shape of my foot is causing the pain to continue. She gave me information about proper shoes and an insert to help with my arch and to help take the brunt of the weight off the injured area. I feel really confident this is going to fix my persistent issue that impedes the quality of my exercise. She also gave me tips about my other ankle (even though I wasn't even there for that) to strengthen it more. I wholeheartedly recommend her, and I'm grateful for the time she spent with me. She even took notes for me and recommended some shoes for my specific needs. If you have feet woes, go meet Dr. St. Louis and get your groove back.

I have worked in the medical field for over 30 years and have had 13…read moreortho surgeries along with five other surgeries, and by far Dr. Loui has the best bedside manner I have ever come across. Not only did he have the best bedside manner, he did not push surgery on me until after a couple of months with my foot not getting any better. When Dr. Loui and I agreed that it was time to bite the bullet and do surgery, I had two options with two completely different prices. Dr. Loui suggest the cheaper of the two options, which I am glad I did. He is not at all about how much money he can make off his patients. Which is really good to see. At every visit, I was always brought back on time. I never had to wait. The front desk and the x-ray tech were all awesome. Book with Dr. Loui, and you will not be disappointed. I forgot to mentioned. My husband, usually never goes to my appointments with me. However, after my husband met Dr. Liou the day of my procedure, my husband came with me to every appointment afterwards just to talk to Dr. Liou. That is how much my husband liked him.

I have been very impressed with Dr. Liou. He carefully listens to questions and provides clear and…read moredirect answers. I first went to see Dr. Liou about an ingrown toenail that was causing me pain. Dr. Liou clearly and concisely told me what could be done to solve the problem. In the past, I had seen a couple of other podiatrists and when I asked them about ingrown toenail options, I felt like I received long winded needlessly confusing answers. This caused me to lose confidence in their ability to solve the problem for what I assumed must be a common relatively simple procedure. Dr. Liou explained how, after deadening the area, I could have a small portion of the side of my nail removed to take out the embedded portion of the toenail. If I wanted the procedure to be permanent, then they could apply a substance to prevent regrowth of the removed portion of the nail. To evaluate the process prior to a permanent removal, I had the portion temporarily removed to better confirm what it would look like with a small portion of the toenail removed. I also wanted to see if Dr. Liou was as skilled at performing the work as he was in explaining the process. Dr. Liou was very skilled and quickly performed the procedure. Frankly, the the four shots to deaden the toe, were the worst part of the process. Those shots were more painful than I was used to (and I have had a LOT of shots). Given this, I told Dr. Liou that in the future I would prefer it if he started with just one shot, then waited a couple minutes for that to take effect, prior to giving the other three shots. If you prefer just getting it over with all at once, the good news is that the shots do not take that long. Dr. Liou also helped me with plantar fasciitis. I received an injection and some shoe inserts which provided quick relief. What I found particularly extraordinary about Dr. Liou, was how he rose to the occasion when I had an appointment to see him after being rendered completely mute from a neck surgery which resulted in a paralyzed vocal cord. Since I suddenly could not talk at all, I was wondering if I should cancel this appointment with Dr. Liou due to the difficulty of communicating. I decided to keep the appointment and typed out my questions for Dr. Liou and handed them to him when I arrived at the office. I could not even speak to explain why I was handing him something, so I had to depend on his good will to actually read my document and respond to my questions appropriately. He was AMAZING. He did not miss a beat for what was a strange situation for both of us. He answered every question on the sheet, even though I was helpless to correct him if he missed something since I could not talk. Fortunately, I have had corrective procedures since then to help me talk, but I am so grateful and impressed as to how he handled this situation. I think it says a lot about him since many doctors skip over questions even when you CAN talk to insist on getting an answer.

The overall vibe is great…read more There's a number of PT assistants who help with various exercises and keeping everyone on track. The place is quite spacious for many therapists and patients. I was assigned Anna who was awesome as well as all the assistants showing me the various exercises. The front desk ladies are helpful in booking appointments and running things smoothly. I'd get texts as appointment reminders too. Overall I'm very pleased that I was able to go here for treatment.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would, my experience here was great!…read more I had labrum surgery back in January and started physical therapy sometime in February. Two and a half months later, I was able to regain my range of motion and strength in the affected area as well. I owe my recovery to Dr. Talia Strahler, she was wonderful, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout this entire process! I would guess that people oftentimes have questions if they'll ever fully recover from comparable surgeries or feel that the process might be too difficult. I had similar thoughts and feelings, but once I got here they all went away. This recovery was definitely a team effort and I thank everyone so much for being the absolute best. It was such a welcoming environment, the staff is easy to communicate with. Scheduling is very easy and flexible, it's wonderful to get reminder text messages about upcoming appointments. Again, everyone is so friendly that oftentimes the work you're doing doesn't really feel like work because you're being checked-in on and/or there is great music playing in the background. This was an experience that I will not forget, nor the people involved! I know that if I ever need physical therapy again that I'll come back here in a heartbeat. Add me to the tally of RUINED FEET!…read more Years ago, I saw Robson for a plantar's wart: excellent bedside manner, great education, effective treatment. I had observed folks in the waiting room who had successful bunionectomies: Knowing I'd need it some day, I made sure to remember who I'd call... 2023: it's time for that bunionectomy! My deformity was such that it would require an osteotomy (for alignment correction) and fusion (metatarsal-tarsal) with hardware. My 2nd toe was already so long that it would need shortening to ensure proper foot mechanics (the osteotomy & fusion would make big toe too short/weight bearing would shift to the 2nd toe, which isn't good). "Everything went well," he informed my husband immediately post-op. But the numbness from the surgery never resolved... At each follow-up appt, I mentioned my concern of lack of sensation: He said I must've had neuropathy BEFORE surgery: NO I DID NOT! He got so upset about my complaints (or was that he just didn't believe me?!?) that at next follow-up appt... He took out a straight pin and began poking the areas: I felt NOTHING. He became more and more aggressive, now stabbing my foot repeatedly, until a look of embarrassment came over his face, as he subtly grabbed a tissue to wipe the blood from my foot and the blood drips on the floor that he caused! No, the needle wasn't sterile - it was a straight pin! But, he insisted that he couldn't have cut ALL the nerves because of the pain caused when he grabbed my big toe, pulled (yanked is more accurate) and held it as far away from the other toes as possible. He said I needed to pull it like this regularly. Previously, he had given me instructions for mobilizations to improve extension/bending toe up (only) and NOT for this...yet he insisted that I wasn't working on my foot like I should be (I'm a PT eager to power thru this rehab, so yes I was). The fusion nail through the metatarsal to the tarsal/1st cuneiform protruded to the 2nd cuneiform and began chiseling into it! He claimed that I only mentioned pain in this region AFTER I saw the X-ray (this was in the medical records). Um, this day, he didn't put the X-rays on screen: As he pulled the pictures up, he immediately clicked away, saying, "now's a good time to look at the original x-ray and start talking about hardware removal." While feebly clicking to search, he said, "That's right, our system went through an update, so I can't get to them right now." I asked to at least grab a pic "for posterity's sake." Barely had a chance to snap a pic of this day's x-ray, and no time to look at it until I got home. 2nd toe: The incision was made on the top/dorsum of the foot, right at the base of the 2nd toe. As incisions heal, scar tissue is laid and it contracts... I developed a hammer toe! Dr. Robson said, "I wish we discussed this hammer toe before surgery to take care of it then," to which my reply was "I didn't have a hammer toe before surgery." I still don't have sensation in the ball of my foot, big toe, nor 2nd toe. Can't find/feel the ball of foot when trying to push off with gait. My 3rd toe has become inappropriately helpful with pushing off (& is constantly red). New surgeon didn't want to disparage Dr. Robson: He was super professional. But the truth slipped out over visits: 1. The angle of fusion is such that the big toe/hallux/MTP joint doesn't bend straight (for a normal gait push-off); rather, it bends similarly to how it did before (directionally, as with bunions deformities). No amount of yanking the big toe outward will change the joint alignment (Robson had said I just needed to reshape the meniscal disc). 2. The 1st ray (metatarsal) was fused with the metatarsal head (AKA ball of the foot) ELEVATED, which explains why I can't "find it" when I try to push it down (seated/standing, lifting heel up). It mechanically CANNOT be the push-off bone as it should be. 3. The plate wasn't affixed flush to the bones - hardware removal would be necessary to wear shoes comfortably. 4. A sizable chunk was chiseled out of 2nd cuneiform from the protruding tip of the fusion nail. 5. Hammer toe was an obvious result of the procedure shortening the 2nd toe. Other issues & details being left out because of how long this already is. Bottom line: DO NOT RECOMMEND DR. ROBSON FOR BUNIONECTOMY REQUIRING FUSION. In fact, I've reported him to my insurance company and to the Board.

When I got there, I told his assistant, Claudia how scared I was and she was sooo sweet! After his initial assessment, they deadened it. The shot was the worst part....and I won't lie...it did hurt, but that pain was far less than every time I kicked something and my toe took the hit. So then Dr. Zeringue came in and fixed my toe. I was out of there in an hour all bandaged up. Instructions for taking care of my tootsie were easy to understand and follow. If you have problems with your toes or feet, give Dr. Z a call!
