Sorry, we had mixed experiences with Lakeway mobility. Husband was first transported by David with no problems on the outgoing trip to the nursing home. Despite husband's Immobility and frailness, David managed to get him in the wheelchair and delivered him to the home. Great service! But on the return, another younger driver refused to help my husband to get back in bed from the wheelchair so he sat in it for an hour before his nurse arrived. They just 'dumped' him in the living room and also had a hard time getting the wheelchair up one step into the home. I understand the liability issues but their website gives the impression they will help with patients with mobility issues. read more

I had finally had my Gallbladder removed two days ago and came home yesterday with a diagnosis of pleural effusion, and atelectasis which will resolve with use of an incentive spirometer and time. Last night due to the mild SOB I was unable to sleep at all. I need 1 or 2 liters of O2 through in order to sleep. I have called a dozen businesses who provide home O2 and could not find one who could help me. The driver was on time and very polite. He put my wheelchair into the van with no problem. I used another seervice before but their driver could barely push the wheelchair up and I only weigh 150! Tracie took care of transporting me to and from my cataract eye surgeries. She is dependable, professional and very caring. I would highly recommend this service specially for persons whose families cannot be here for them. Tracie is an RN, not just an ordinary driver. I know she will be able to oversee the discharge instructions, etc. and coordinate/report to families on behalf of the patient. Although I did not need that level of assistance, I noticed the need for this kind of service when I worked at a senior assisted living facility in the area. When I first hired Lakeway to transport my Mother who has dementia, when because of an injury, I couldn't lift and fold her wheelchair; it was understood that a Drs. Appt.was 30 minutes, and then I would be charged per minute after that standard. One of the reasons I chose Lake way is that I was told they wait at your appointment. I was very pleased with the care my Mother received and the safety of the driver. Tracy was extremely nice and personable. I can't remember the Driver's name but he was jovial, entertaining and safe. My mother loved him. I didnt use Lakeway again until 6 - 8 months later for 3 additional appts near Roundrock. The billing changed where every minute at our appointment was charged and we weren't notified of this change when we made the appointment. Very expensive. The owner, Tracy was disagreeable and combative when I kindly brought this up. She had no qualms about blaming the driver - it wasn't his fault. I scheduled one more time with this Company out of despiration, for another family member's dialysis appointment. We were treated like we weren't important and we arrived late to the appointment. No apologies, just an arrogant, greedy attitude from the angry, disorganised owner. The cost doesn't match the service and on this appointment, according to my uncle, it seemed that the driver, ( a different one,) didnt know where he was going, there seemed to be a lot of confusion and we circled around St. David's and Roundrock before getting to the Dialysis center. He was apologetic and made the excuse that he was new to the area. Why would a driver be hired that doesnt know the area? Odd. I'm sure we were overcharged for mileage as our route was convoluted and circular. Use a different Company, there are plenty more reliable and more professional companies in The greater Austin area. read more

They transported my mom from the hospital to physical rehab and she lost her phone in the van on the way. They went above and beyond to find her phone which had fallen into the wheelchair ramp mechanism. They delivered it to her the next day and handed it to her personally. My husband required wheelchair transportation to and from medical appointments over the last several weeks. Lakeway Mobility (and especially drivers, Clay and Jamaar) went above and beyond to ensure prompt, professional, and compassionate care. They drove through pouring rain to get us to the doctors' offices early - even pulled over and stopped safely once to hand something to my husband. Unfortunately, my husband was hospitalized over the holidays - we were forced to use a different company when Lakeway Mobility was already booked. There was a HUGE difference between Lakeway Mobility and the other company - two of the OTHER drivers got lost, one driver stopped in the middle of the road in the pouring rain because he missed a turn. Also, I had to tell one of the OTHER drivers to back his van up to the ramp so that my husband wouldn't have to be wheeled in the rain. One Word... Fantastic. I have had two experiences with this company over the last week and was unaware of them before. On Thanksgiving Day, we were excited for a day with my elderly mother who resides in a nursing home and confined to an electric chair. However, my mother's handicap van ramp broke. In a panic, I Googled for a transport service and luckily (if you have used any of these services, you know what I mean), found Tracie at Lakeway Mobility. She was booked for the day but understood my situation. Tracie made scheduling adjustments and oddly had an immediate opening. She travelled to Dripping Springs and picked up my mother at the nursing home, brought her to our home and came back at 8 pm for the return trip. All went off perfectly. The van was clean and looked new. Tracie was amazing and made my 85 yr old mother feel safe and comfortable. A truly professional experience. Not at all what you get with other, untrained services. Today, my mother had an eye exam but we had the transport scheduled by a no cost, insurance covered company. I called this morning to confirm the time and was told no drivers were available today. Even though I made the appointment last week. Soooo, I found myself with yet another need for same day handicap transport. I located Tracie's card, and once again she found time in her schedule to transport my mother to her appt. Then she waited for my mother at her appointment so she could bring her back home. Unexpectedly, this took 2 hours. Did you read...she waited. Never before has a transport company waited. They always leave and we have to call when the appointment is done and wait for them to return. Again, if you use these services, you know what I mean. Now, what was the cost of all this? Surprisingly affordable. As you know these services at times feel like they are taking advantage of the situation. Not Lakeway Mobility. The cost was higher than a taxi or Uber for non-handicapped folks but nowhere near what I have paid other service companies. On a personal note, Tracie felt like more of a friend than a transport service. Talking with my mother during her trips and even offered their discount program for frequent users. I know. Long post and I don't do many of these but believe me when I tell you that Lakeway Mobility and specifically one of the owners, Tracie more than deserves the publicity. No, I am not employed by or a friend of the owners. Yes I am a new, super impressed customer. I only hope that their inevitable growth will keep the high level of personal service. read more

I broke my ankle recently. I pre-existing rods and screws in my back and balance issues from a car wreck. The crutches recommended by the ER doctor, and absolutely no weight on the broke foot, with my balance issues has been like a highly intoxicated person! Not Good! Tracie has been wonderful!!!! She has been cheerful, informative, and helpful in everyway. I have called over 10 different medical supply places. None of them were even polite, let alone nice or helpful. Whatever you need, just call Tracie, at Lakeway Mobility. It is so worth the drive to be treated nicely, not be rushed, have your questions answered and have a pleasant experience. Tracie and Bahjat helped us dream up and realize a holiday trip to our lakehouse, including transferring on and off our boat, for an adult family member who is wheelchair/lift dependent and had not spent a night away from his handicapped accessible home in many years. They were as excited about our plans as we were. We rented equipment for transfers and bed/bath that took all the anxiety out of our holiday. When Tracie and Bahjat delivered the equipment, they brought everything we ordered plus several contingency solutions "just in case" for no extra charge. When we had an equipment question that evening, they arrived in person to help, even after we offered to face-time call, and after a long day's work for them. Their knowledge and concern even helped us with solutions for continuing care and upgrades to the equipment we owned.
