And I was all the more impressed given the fact that N & D is a small team that essentially operates as a family-owned business. Installation: The installation could not have been more seamless. John, Darren, and David arrived promptly. They installed the security system and had me up and running in little to no time. For example, in addition to setting up my home security system, Darren helped set up our doorbell camera and even attempted to help install smart locks throughout my home. I called Vivint, hoping to have my alarm system installed before I went away for a couple of weeks. The customer service was great, they explained in detail what the contract was going to be before installing the system and were very friendly. The technician arrived on time and was very professional. He installed my system quickly and explained thoroughly how to use the system and the app. They even included a free glass break (which was going to be $250 from ADT) along with free automatic locks on my doors and indoor cameras. My experience with Vivint Security has been extremely disappointing. I recently sold my home and…read moremoved into a rental property where I am not permitted to install the Vivint alarm system. Even though I no longer own the house where the equipment was installed and cannot transfer the service to my current residence, Vivint continues to expect me to pay monthly for a security system that I cannot use and no longer have. I contacted customer service hoping the company would review my circumstances and provide a reasonable solution. Instead, I received very little assistance, understanding, or flexibility. I explained that this is not a situation where I simply changed my mind or decided that I no longer wanted the service. I sold my home, moved into rental housing, and am unable to install the system because of restrictions beyond my control. Vivint has the ability to waive the remainder of a customer's contract under certain circumstances, but the representatives I spoke with were unwilling to help or seriously consider my request. It is incredibly frustrating to be charged every month for equipment and services that are not available to me. A reputable company should consider a customer's individual circumstances instead of hiding behind contract language and continuing to collect payments for a service that cannot be provided. The lack of compassion and practical problem-solving from Vivint's customer service department has completely changed my opinion of the company. Customers should carefully review every detail of the contract before signing, particularly the cancellation and relocation provisions. Life circumstances change, homes are sold, and people sometimes move into properties where installation is prohibited. Based on my experience, Vivint may still expect payment regardless. I cannot recommend Vivint Security. Their unwillingness to provide a fair resolution has left me paying for nothing and feeling completely disregarded as a customer.
