This is a known, straightforward adjustment on these cars -- the fix only requires properly rotating the midpipe, aligning the hangers, and setting the slip joint so the pipe clears the differential and surrounding hardware. No fabrication, no custom work, nothing unusual. Instead of performing these standard adjustments, I was told the midpipe would require prefab work to "make it fit," which is not accurate. The tech also mentioned he had been doing this since 1991, which honestly made the situation more concerning -- because anyone with real experience in performance exhaust work should know this midpipe does not require fabrication. I ended up driving to Kaiser Motorsports in Tacoma, and they corrected the issue in about 30 minutes using the proper adjustment method with zero fabrication required. No issues, no excuses. My issue here isn't skill -- it's honesty. If a shop doesn't want to work on aftermarket parts, that's completely fine. Just say so. Don't mislead customers. If you own a performance car or run aftermarket exhaust components, I strongly recommend going elsewhere based on my experience. .
