I was especially impressed on the most recent project that included mounting of a digital photo frame. Carlos simply "wasn't having it" to mount the frame with the electrical cord showing! He expertly drilled holes and snaked the cord through the inside of the wall and back out just above the electrical outlet for an amazingly clean look. He had the finishing caps to cover the entry and exit holes too. Carlos and the crew also took a very personal interest in mounting my career memorabilia (22 plaques and awards!) beautifully in my home office. And they are undaunted by "oddball" stuff like mounting clips for a tapestry in my media room to cover unsightly electrical panels. Their excellence starts with the manager Marc who gathers a LOT of information from you (pictures, model numbers, installation videos, etc.) so that the crew arrives fully prepared. Not only are their prices very competitive, but Flatpack offers a flat RATE quote so that the crew stays until the job is completed. I'm very pleased to have found this amazing company.

Everyone makes mistakes, (I had specifically requested 6 brackets be installed; was told that was overkill, 4 would be plenty; it wasn't) but you communicate with your customers and you fix them. This company was interested in doing neither. Within two days of completion, the shelves they built came crashing down, inflicting further damage on my wall, closet, and adjacent mirror that was knocked off. Of course, I reached out immediately, asking that someone come back to make the necessary repairs. (Mind you: I couldn't even access my closet during this time without making it worse, nor could I move my dresser to plug back in my nightstand light, which had been knocked out in the crash as well.) It took a week to even get a response, which was basically "Oh, I didn't see your email." (Note: Their full page invoice does not include company phone number on it, so I assumed email was their preferred contact. I'm sorry you were out of the office, but maybe your business could set an auto-response email at the very least?! And maybe when you return, check your in-box?? Or better yet, follow up to assess client satisfaction after project completion?) Marc informed me that he wanted the same worker to come out and handle the repair, but that he was out of town and would reach out to schedule me by Friday of that week. I asked that he respond by phone or text (wanting to get this resolved quickly). He didn't listen, and instead emailed again, declining my request to please just send whatever worker was available sooner. I followed up a week after that, only to understand I'd been forgotten about again. I tried a third time. Three weeks later (it has now been a month since shelves fell) --nothing!!! I gave up and had to hire another company to come fix everything, paying them to undo the job I paid Flatpack for, AND repair (i.e., remove damaged metal strip along closet, mud and tape drywall, re-paint after re-hanging shelves securely) the further damage they caused. Completely unprofessional company management. Lesson learned. I had at least three more days of work for these guys ready to go, but would never hire them again. If you want to feel unvalued as a customer by a company that doesn't stand by its work, this is the one.

He took the old one down and realized the new one had a different style of mounting bracket. He had the whole job down in under 45 minutes and the end project was clean and professional looking. I appreciate the role which FixT serves, but with Yelp as the solicitation platform, it admittedly seems like another unnecessary middleman to go through them. The contractors did miss some minor things with our playground assembly, and unfortunately the price came in higher (without notification), despite my providing the exact model and steps required for assembly at the time of soliciting. The insurability and lack of comprehensive quality guarantees is a little off putting in the end, as even other entities that exclusively use "independent contractors" such as uber, still have additional protections in place for the end customer. Overall, they were good, not perfect. The process was wonky, but worked (for the most part) in the end. I just would prefer to go directly to the contractors in the future.

WARNING: Unsafe Practices, Property Abandonment, and Bodily Injury…read more Beware of booking Prince Asong Moving LLC. I hired them for an interstate move from Arlington, VA to a storage facility in Washington, D.C. They arrived three hours late, completely missing my building's strict freight elevator reservation window. Even though they explicitly promised in our text contract that they would bring a specialized TV box and protective wrap, they arrived completely unequipped and lacked these basic materials. Due to their complete lack of proper equipment, the crew mishandled my television and dropped it directly onto my lower leg/shin during loading, causing severe trauma, pain, and swelling. Once they finally arrived at the D.C. destination, they refused to properly deliver my items into the unit and instead abandoned my entire shipment outside on the side of the storage facility. The Metropolitan Police Department had to be called to the scene. Because they walked away and left my property stranded outside, I had to immediately hire a secondary moving company at a significant additional out-of-pocket expense to rescue, secure, and protect my belongings. Following the move, the company has explicitly refused to disclose their mandatory commercial liability insurance carrier name or policy number. Instead, they are withholding my contract documentation unless I send an un-itemized $620 balance via Zelle--directly violating our initial written agreement which accepted credit cards. This matter has been formally escalated to federal enforcement with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA Case #00298902), the D.C. Office of the Attorney General, and Google Local Services Trust & Safety. Avoid this predatory carrier at all costs.

Not only did he answer right away but the price was excellent and he could fit me in the next day!! John arrived promptly and went right to work. It didn't take him long before he had the treadmill put together and was working on the bike. He even opened up the treadmill mat and set everything up nicely. He completed the bike in what seemed like seconds and I tested everything out. John was very professional, on time and he answered all my questions with ease. Everything was well put together and he didn't leave a mess behind. I am throughly impressed. Not only is he skilled in assembly but he's sort of a jack of all trades. MCCS

Dependable, Professional, &....Efficient!…read more I have hired MCCS on two occasions now and both have been great experiences. The first job was a fancy faucet upgrade and plumbing job in the kitchen. The second was a basement lighting, electrical and garbage disposal replacement job. Both jobs were handled quick, fast, competently and with the best attention to detail. Initially, during the first visit, I was a bit nervous about hiring a handyman service for the job given I had bought a very expensive faucet and didn't want just anyone to screw it up. I figured a "big" plumbing company was the way to go, until I got their ridiculous quote for the job! In steps MCCS. MCCS handled the job like a pro, with no issues or damages/scratches to the faucet, cabinets or granite countertops....and at half the cost in comparison. During the last visit, Maryam performed the work herself and truthfully, I was amazed with her technical skill and knowledge to jump from completing plumbing work to figuring out a couple of electrical issues all in the same visit. As a small minority-women owned business, Maryam and her team has been a pleasure to work with. The communication and response time is fair and this is one company that has stayed consistent and on-time when scheduled. On both occasions, Maryam tends to get back to you the same day with a quote/response and schedule your work at your convenience. In all, MCCS gets 10 Stars if Yelp allowed. I have nothing but good things to say about their services and professionalism for being such a small company. Given how hard it is to find dependable people and competent handyman services in the DMV......let's just say......MCCS will be my "go to" when in need for home repair/contracting services for sure!

They moved everything from my studio to my new place in under three hours. It was a local move with only about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, but they were still extremely fast and efficient. Nothing was broken, although I did transport the more fragile items myself to be extra careful. The only issue was that they left several long, noticeable scuff marks on the wall in my narrow hallway. That was unfortunate, but it felt fairly minor in the grand scheme of the move. Overall, the movers were professional, efficient, and easy to communicate with. I would still recommend them, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the walls in tighter spaces.

I had started the job myself but got an anchor screw stuck and figured I should have a pro step in so I didn't wreck my new walls. All the supplies were here, placed where they needed to be, holes were measured and marked for custom made rods and drapes. He charges by the hour and moves very, very slow. He didn't have his own step ladder or anchor screws. In the first hour, he managed to put in 3 screws in holes that had already been marked. He claimed he "needed to remeasure" and that's why it took so long, but he used the holes that I had already marked. He also said it was too hard to do with custom cut rods. He also said it wasn't his fault because I had an anchor screw stuck in the wall already, which was the whole reason I hired him. This is what pros do: they come prepared, know the required materials and techniques, and advise the customer on the best way to proceed. I knew we needed to cut it off when he asked me how to use an anchor screw. He didn't know if you needed to pre-drill or not for a very basic and common anchor. I cannot imagine a professional handyman not knowing that. He used a level to stare at the pre-marked holes for what seemed like an eternity, just eating up time. 3 screws = $200. Seems like a nice enough man, but handyman may not be the profession for him, and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't just trying to take advantage of someone he assumed was too naive too know how long the job should take. He became very defensive, making excuses when I said we'd need to end the job at one hour. Im sure judging by other less than 5 star reviews here (that I really wish I'd have taken the time to read) he will post a very defensive response here as well. Please just don't take a job you don't have the required expertise to complete, and I don't want to hear defensive excuses when I'm still out $200 for almost no work completed.
