Edward is very responsive, punctual, and he really goes the extra mile to assure that your stuff is packaged safely and gets to its destination on time. I prepared my belongings in advance and they had my apartment cleaned out in less than an hour. Additionally, I called a few other moving companies and all of them quoted be ridiculous prices, but Boss Moving Company was very reasonably priced and worth every dollar. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with his service and highly recommend them for your move.

With Boss Moving Company, you get what you pay for. They're a little cheaper than other movers but…read morethe quality of my move was less than satisfactory. After my move, I was disappointed to find that they had put tape directly on the backing of a custom framed item, which ripped the backing when it was removed. Months after my move, I set up a nightstand with a built in charger, only to find the movers had shoved the built in cord into a small hole in the bottom of the night stand, making it impossible to remove. The only way to fetch the cord is to completely disassemble the piece of furniture, which came to me fully assembled. I reached out to the owner, Edward Roland, to see if he would reimburse for a Task Rabbit to disassemble my furniture to correct the damage, but he said that "internal wiring" is not his responsibility. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone. Next time, I'd go with a more reputable company.

I'm writing to review a little late since we've been getting settled into our new home in Chicago,…read morebut it's been on my todo list because Joseph and his crew were amazing! We found out pretty last minute that we were going to be moving to Chicago. On top of all the added stress was finding a moving company we could trust. We received a quote for $3400 from another moving company for a full cross-state move. This was way out of our budget give. That we were leaving most of the furniture behind. Instead, we opted to do the good ol' Uhaul way. We needed movers to come help load the truck Friday night since we'd be leaving Saturday morning. I looked into company after company with some concerning reviews about efficiency, speed, and care. Made Movers was the one company that stood out with consistently good reviews, and for good reason! Joseph was super quick to get back to my request for a quote. He gave us a very reasonable hourly price, and was able to accommodate our Friday evening time frame. Joseph was also very responsive on follow-up emails, which I appreciated. On the day of the move Joseph called to let us know they were running 15-20 minutes late. It wasn't a huge amount of time, so I appreciated the heads up. Joseph and his crew arrived and got right to work. Most of our stuff was boxed already, but the furniture needed wrapping. The crew carefully wrapped our furniture with the furniture blankets we picked up from Uhaul. The entire time they worked very efficiently and quickly. Once the work was done, in under 2 hours, there were no hidden costs, nothing in our apartment was scratched or broken (horror stories I read about other companies) and the Uhaul looked ready to go. When we finally got to Chicago we were happy to find not a single piece of furniture was broken or dented, and the movers here were quickly able to unload the truck due to how well it was packed in the first place. Joseph and his crew were awesome. They at least made this part of the move incredibly easy, and for that we are thankful. Will 100% recommend them to others in the DMV area in the future!

Sasha was good to work with from the moment that I requested a quote to the actual move in date. She made the experience one of ease. Also, they have the ability for you to estimate an inventory of your items online as oppose to manual. This is helpful in planning your move. Affordability and accommodating are the main selling points and delineation with this moving company. NewRay accommodated my move which required transporting and moving items from my home as a first stop.......to making an additional stop to an UHaul Storage facility to pick up additional items as part of the move before heading to my final destination. On the move day, the movers arrived during the time window expected and were great. I must admit though, I was a bit frustrated with the size of the truck promised and offered for my move. 2 Star deduction for not offering the truck promised nor communicating /updating me on the change. It almost felt like a bait switch move. The truck was unmarked (no company logo) and too small for the number of items and stops I knew we had to make, but we made it work despite items being crammed in the truck.....not to my satisfaction. Also, we had to carry a number of items in our cars to alleviate over-cramming the truck and/or causing any damage to expensive--special items from my home. Between packing items in our cars and their smaller truck, we were able to handle the move needless to say. The workers most of all deserves a "high-five!" They put up with a lot from me that day and understood my frustration. They were efficient, fast and worked very hard. They were even patient and accommodating to assist in the packing of items, as to I was still packing when they arrived. Upon arrival to my new home, they took great care and attention to moving items into the house and assembling furniture. Everything arrived safely, with an exception of minor scratch and ding to a bed frame and large standing floor vase. In all, the decision to go with NewRay movers was not all bad. Despite the misunderstanding on my expectation of the truck size expected and discussed with Sasha, my move was handled competently. Scheduling was easy and the entire process in all honesty was seamless. Not to mention, the price point (hourly rate) was one of the better rates offered in DMW for my move. Although they do have a 6% credit card surcharge which is bit steep, this is something that was made at least clear upfront. Would I recommend NewRay Moving or use them again? I must be honest, I am on the fence but would consider them as "an option" if there was a need for another move at least due to how nice the workers were and how accommodating they were to our needs.....despite the management and Sasha's mishaps.

I scheduled them to come 8am on Monday. They arrived early (thankfully) and worked diligently. There was a bit of confusion over the number of trucks but the team accommodated and made multiple trips to and from without complaint (it was over an hr each way). And, without being charged more. Dorothy, who supervised the job, kept everything running smoothly and had a sense of humor as well (which made a tiresome and stressful day more enjoyable). A few items were broken- but fixable. Like a piece of wood came off of a drawer which I glued back on. And there was one lamp and a plant. But overall, I'd say that isn't bad. There was an issue with a large table that wouldn't fit through the door. Dorothy and Mike didn't give up and continued to problem solve until the table was able to be moved. They stayed in contact and delivered it, free of charge, two days later. Thank you for your persistence, patience, hard work, and positive attitude throughout the process.

They moved everything from my studio to my new place in under three hours. It was a local move with only about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, but they were still extremely fast and efficient. Nothing was broken, although I did transport the more fragile items myself to be extra careful. The only issue was that they left several long, noticeable scuff marks on the wall in my narrow hallway. That was unfortunate, but it felt fairly minor in the grand scheme of the move. Overall, the movers were professional, efficient, and easy to communicate with. I would still recommend them, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the walls in tighter spaces.
