5 Stars. Excellent service. Krum is so polite and gracious. Really makes this a great business. Unfortunately, I had an insurance claim my car needed quite a bit of bodywork. My insurance company listed several companies near me to do the job and I read all of the reviews. This place had the most consistent, high 5 star reviews so I selected them to get the work done. The initial estimate was 1 week to 1.5 weeks, however it was 3.5 weeks altogether. They were waiting on a part and they kept me in the loop about the status, which I appreciated. Once my car was done, I noticed white powdery residue inside the car. I alerted them and they cleaned it all up so my car was spotless inside and out. Nobody wants to part with their car for repairwork, however Krum is super professional, welcoming and makes this place a class act. I really appreciated his efforts to make sure I was totally satisfied. Hopefully, I will not be back for bodywork!!! But I definitely plan to come back for a detail in the spring or summer. read more

Good front bumper job and Will performed smooth communication with insurance. They also washed my car and cleaned the interior before I picked it up. read more

Capital Auto Shop - Body Shops Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

Capital Auto Shop made the process from start to finish incredibly easy from scheduling a timely appointment, to communicating the progress along the way, to coordinating with the insurance and rental car companies. They were professional and the work was completed well. I would definitely return for their services if needed in the future. read more

Krum responded to my request for a quote with insightful and expert information that inspires both confidence and respect. It felt like I was communicating with a "Car Doctor" who seriously knows his field of expertise. My body damage is very minor (on the surface) but unfortunately fairly expensive which is not Capital's fault. Really appreciate the astute response for the request for quote! I still have some "deciding" to do. read more

Could not be more pleased with the Capital Auto Shop! Having only been in town for 15 minutes, my daughter's car was damaged while parked. I phoned Capital Auto early on Monday morning and they immediately acted to give me an estimate for the damage repair and promised they could have the car ready for my daughter's return to Maine on that Saturday. They contacted me for approval of the purchase of additional parts and as promise, had the car ready for pick up on Friday morning. The car looks brand new!! They even detailed the inside. We did not use the insurance company so that probably helped speed up the process but, I felt the estimate was fair and, actually, less than I had imagined. All of the people working at Capital Auto were great -- patient- polite - friendly. I can heartily recommend this company and will certainly use them in the future if I need body work done. read more

Took my brand new 21' Ford Mustang Mach-E. Even though this was the first time they had this type of car in their shop, the shop owner Krum did a fantastic job at painting the fender flares of my vehicle to match the body color of the car! Great customer services and the awesome professional quality work! Very happy customer here who would not hesitate to return for any additional work in the future. read more

Absolutely bad service! Had a nightmare experience with this body shop! The delayed my repair for the first time but told me to come a second time as parts were not available. The second time they suddenly told me that they got the wrong part and told me to come for a third time, the owner was super rude and not apologetic at all. Upon further inspection, they didn't inspect the car properly and another part was damaged which they denied responsibility, Now I'm not even sure if the repair was done correctly. I would not go to this shop even if someone pays me to. Update: Got to know that they broke my suspension as well and did a shoddy job upon getting it checked with another service person. Krum should be fired for his rude behavior read more

I recently went in for a quote and had a great experience. I can't speak for their actual work because I ended up choosing another repair shop that was closer to my house, but I wanted to share that I was happy with their estimate process. They got me in quick and they gave an accurate initial estimate. The place I ended up choosing had a much lower initial estimate, that didn't include replacement parts, so I knew their final bill was going to be close to the one Capital Auto Shop provided. If they were a bit closer to where I lived, I probably would have chosen Capital Auto Shop. Even though I didn't end up working them with, I at least wanted to share that I had a good initial experience and I appreciated that they gave an accurate and realistic estimate from the start. read more

Like most people, I get anxious when I have to bring my car to an auto shop. But from the moment I pulled up to their place, Capital Auto's staff made me feel comfortable and respected. Everyone was extremely professional and attentive, and I couldn't be happier with the collision repair work that was done to my car, as well as the overall cost. I recommend them 100%. My husband and I are glad we have a "go to" place in case we need any additional work on our vehicles. read more

A low-pressure, fast and professional shop with user friendly website and honest techs... this is a hidden gem in NOVA. These guys know what they are doing and you can tell they love their job, know their job and most of all - treat customers with respect and don't just try to upsell. They fixed two cars for me so far and both times everything was done on time, without overcharges and with great attention to detail. Highly recommend it! read more

My bumper needed a re-paint and Capital Auto provided prompt service and did a beautiful job. The owner Krum Rangelov and his staff were friendly and explained all of the details I needed to know. They offered a lifetime warranty on the work. I checked three body shops in the area and their estimate won that competition too. read more

Krum and company are the best! Good people and great quality work. Thank you!!!!

Krum was responsive, honest, professional from day one when I needed repairs on my cars. I had a minor dent which he repaired quickly and professionally. I went back to him for a major repair after for an older car and he was both honest about how difficult to get the parts may be during the pandemic but also diligent in getting the required quality parts. He and his team were true professionals and everything got repaired very professionally. He's definitely my go to guy for body repairs! read more

This place used to be excellent under Jae's management. Now, they have a new manager, and the service took nosedive. I took my car for small bumper repair. They repainted the entire bumper with a noticeably different shade of silver. The manager try to argue that the paint on the bumper can never be matched to the rest of the car because it's different material (plastic) read more

Great family owned body shop, where the owner is certainly trying to go above and beyond to set themselves apart from competitors.

Great service shop!!! Sent there by my insurance company for an estimate after an accident and decided to have the work done there. The lady that works the front desk (Mimi) is phenomenal. She kept me up to date on everything. I had bought the car from a state that doesn't require a front tag, so I had never had it put on the front. I asked if they'd stick it on for me and they did. The work was amazing. I saw that they had washed my car while they had it (yay!) and when I got in it to leave I realized they had also cleaned the interior -- all the surfaces as well as a vacuuming. Would recommend this place to anyone and any future work on my cars will be done there. read more

I had some interaction with this company today, it was good. I had something that I needed to address and I found the interaction on the phone and in person to be helpful and beneficial. Great place for auto-body work. I had them replace a door handle and they charged less half the price the dealership quoted. Very quick and pleasant as well. read more

What an awesome turnaround. The service is SO friendly. Jae the shop manager needs to teach customer service. His friendliness alone was above and beyond what you get at any other customer service oriented business. Now let's talk about quality of work. When Jae took us to look at the bumper repair my jaw hit the floor. The paint matched what is on my 2011 BMW 328i so well I could not tell if it was a new bumper or a really, really good paint job. Well it wasn't a new bumper he said, so that must mean a magician works for them. The work was done in 2 days, yeah you heard me correctly. Bumper was fixed and painted, back on and ready to go in just 2 days! This rating is very well deserved and I highly recommend this business to any and all BMW owners who cherish the sweet lines and craftsmanship of what BMW stands for. As a matter of fact I personally would recommend BMW buy these guys out or make them a certified partner! read more

My insurance company recommended this place to me for their 100% life guarantee for work. After getting my car repaired there, I can honestly say it doesn't get any better! I come from a dealership family, and Jay and his team go above and beyond what is usually offered. They have a new manager, and Jay knows what service really means. Not only did they fix the damage to my car... they fixed pretty much every door ding on my vehicle. Jay was courteous, thoughtful, and kind. This is a quality shop with a great deal of transparency - not something that happens very often in the car repair business. Seriously folks - keep a quality shop going!!! read more

This place is great. Jae, the manager, is very customer service oriented. I was hit in a small collision and had to go here to get my car repaired. The entire process was transparent and well-priced. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to not be ripped off by their dealership. read more

I found out about Capital Auto Body from Consumer Checkbook (checkbook.org) -- Capital has a high rating for quality and price. GREAT DEALS. I had gone to a premiere auto body shop for my BMW X5 and they told me they would replace my dented/rusted trunk for a grand total of $6K - they said the dents/rust/chipped paint couldn't be repaired (????). Capital Auto Body charged less than 7% of what they other body shop advertised and now my X5 looks like new. They fixed the dents, removed the rust, painted as necessary, and then detailed. They did a SUPERB job overall, gave me a GREAT price, and they now have a very happy customer. I will DEFINITELY go there again and my husband plans to take his BMW next!!!! read more

It amazes me, how the folks at Capital do practically everything(including painting brake drums to make my new wheels look amazing) and they do it well, for less. I have used this shop for everything from body to mechanical work, and I will continue to bring my car to them. Jaye, the manager is friendly, customer service oriented and aims to please. I couldn't be happier! Stop by and visit them today. read more

Had an accident, they fixed the front end of my car, it's as good as new! They guarantee their work and it's phenomenal. Would definitely go back. They are also listed as one of the top Autobody shops in NoVa! Highly Recommend! Friendly staff as well. Manager's name is Patrick! read more

We have been to Capital Auto Body a few times for door dings and bumper damage. They always provided us with courteous and professional service. Friendly, and offer very competitive rates for repair. On March 17, 2010, I took my car to Capital Auto Body of Fairfax at 3156 Spring Street (22031). I was given an estimate of $713 for a minor scrape that affected one panel of my car. A month and a half later, with no change to the minor damage on the car (which had been resting comfortably in a secure, underground garage), I made an appointment to take it in for service--I took the day off work and arranged for alternate transportation (I was told the repair would take about 3 days). When I arrived the morning of Monday, May 7, I was greeted by assistant manager Khery Moye, the same employee who did my original estimate. As I filled out paperwork, he said he needed to double-check the estimate and look at the car again, as well as take pictures for manager Brenda, which he didn't do before. About 10 minutes later, he told me that his original estimate was off and that he made mistakes, and that at the time he did the original estimate, he was "just finishing estimating classes". He told me that the new total was now $1,236--a $523 increase, nearly 75% higher than the original estimate (this included nearly double the amount of labor hours he originally estimated). He acknowledged he made a mistake, mentioned Brenda's name a few more times as the one he was accountable to and said he could work in discounts to account for his mistakes (using 25% "student" discounts off some of the estimates like labor, even though I wasn't a student). My new total would be around $930. I told him that his error was pretty huge and that I couldn't understand how he could make such a big mistake, but agreed to leave my car because of the time I had taken off work (and the time my family member took off to transport me back). AFTER I say this and reluctantly agree to his new, higher total, he says he will go check with a technician to see if he can knock a little more off the labor hours. Another employee I have never spoken with comes in and the two talk in the background. Minutes later, I am passed off to this other employee who doesn't introduce himself. He brings up new paperwork, and tells me that they can't knock anything else off, and that while the new estimate total is $1,236, they will do the work for $1,000...if I pay cash, fully knowing that I am NOT going through my insurance company (a point that was made clear at the beginning of both visits to the shop). I'm so surprised by this new development, I have to calmly repeat it back to him to be sure I wasn't going crazy--yes, they wanted $1,000 in cash, despite having given me two lower estimates in the last 20 minutes. I tell him how Khery (now hiding in the background and refusing to come join the discussion) just quoted me $900 and change; the new technician shakes his head and says no, that can't be done. Stunned, I refuse to use them for the repairs and I leave. It wasn't even about the money; this was a minor repair, and if I had to pay $1,200-plus, so be it. But I refused to spend my money at an establishment using these corrupt business practices. One of the most shady experiences I have ever encountered anywhere. Capital Auto Body of Fairfax either intentionally uses this practice to get people to pay more after they have already been drawn into an appointment with a lower estimate (and taking time off work, and arranging alternate transportation), or employs unqualified people who can't do estimates and shouldn't be working the counter. It's all the more inexcusable given that this was a minor repair and one of the simplest, easiest estimates imaginable. Not only did the employee give me a bad original quote, he gives me a bad second quote that morning! And being passed off to a new person who doesn't introduce himself and tells me they can work a "deal" if I pay cash was the last straw--I'm sure the IRS would love to know about their attempt at illegal practices. Avoid them. (As an aside, I took my car to another shop the next day and was given an estimate of $882. I got the work done at this new shop; they did a great job and stuck to their original estimate, proving that Capital Auto Body's second, third and fourth estimate quotes weren't competitive to begin with.) Would give them zero stars if it was an option. read more
