Tasty Delmonico with sautéed mushrooms. Broccoli is frozen so it's a hard no. Wish I would've selected a different or another side and very bland. Sat at the bar with friendly staff and good music. Reasonably priced Steak is a must! Eastside Gem.

This little joint is a good spot for nice bite comfort food. There are a variety of options on the menu and a steady but increased flow of cutomers. There were groups and individual customers. Our group had two fried catfish meals, two Philly Cheese Steaks, and Turkey Club. The standard sides range from fries, coleslaw to veggies. The portions are better than most places that squeeze to the smallest portions possible. With that being written, we have a new spot to get our catfish on. Skip the coffee though...lol. Also, nice and professional service.

the The service has declined tremendously. I specifically asked for fresh bread & potatoes and it was hard and cold. The food (salmon, veggies & potatoes) was served on a tray instead of a plate. Extremely disappointed. Bring the old owners back. HURRY!

Can you say steak by the ounce?! Located on Gratiot just south of 8 Mile Rd., Capers has been a neighborhood favorite for years. The space is kind of small and the tables are packed in tight so you can expect to get pretty cozy with the patrons next to you. The area is complete with a full service bar and a salad bar in the back. There is often a wait and they don't take reservations but the food and the prices make it worth it. In addition to the chicken, seafood and pasta entrees they offer huge baked potatoes that can be loaded up how you please. And they are most known for their Cuts of Delmonico (or rib-eye), New York Strip, T-Bone, and Filet Mignon steak by the ounce. So you can order the cut to match your appetite. On most weekdays certain cuts are on special for a discount. My favorite is Friday when there is a cod fish fry which can also be prepared broiled. Add a few of the a la carte jumbo shrimp and you have a winner of a combo. Service is friendly but sometimes drags a little but I chalked it up to how utterly busy the place is always with every table full. One thing can be said and that is that everyone is usually laughing and enjoying themselves which is the general ambiance of the spot. If you want friendly serve, good prices and yummy food check them out.

Honestly, I used to come here for the Monday T-Bone special. Where else can you get a 27 oz steak from a steakhouse for under $40? Usually it's like 30 something dollars and you'll be all set! The steaks come out just like you asked them to, the sides are always good and super big. If you get a potato, expected to feed two people possibly. The worst part about going is waiting at the door to get seated. But I get that because sometimes you just have to make sure you actually have seats for everybody trying to enjoy the same food. I only say that because it's not really any space to wait and you have to sit there, or stand there, and the doorway. But once you sit down you're great! And don't even give me started on the drinks lol! If you don't watch yourself you may be feeling extra good because of those! But this is a HomeTown favor for me. I wish they had one in the city that I'm at now. For the price, you're definitely winning!

Overall a good experience. Capers was pretty busy so there was a bit of a wait, but the wait was worth it. I ordered the 20 oz delmonico medium it was cooked good and tasted great. My wife ordered the 10 oz filet and she said it was good. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The price was not bad at all. The atmosphere was good to. I will be back.

    Twelve ounce Delmonico... $9.60.

We had 2 couples and they customized the menu for us based on our likes and dislikes. We got 5 courses starting with appetizers, followed by pasta (which I forgot to get photos of), then sides, entrees and dessert. Plus a little aperitif to start the meal off. Zero complaints about any of the dishes. My favorite dish was probably the artichokes and the steak. So delicious! The atmosphere at the restaurant was very fun and modern. And our server was very knowledgeable and helpful when we had questions about the dishes. You'll want reservations because it fills up quick. We were promptly seated and greeted my our waitress, Mary. She was very attentive and knows the menu. She explained every dish and made excellent recommendations. We all started out with an Aperol Spritz, because what says Italy more than a spritz!?! We ordered a few appetizers, artichoke, squash and asparagus. The squash was unique. It had pickled summer squash, a vegetable that I never considered pickling. Simply delicious. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the sauce really enhanced it. Great side dish. I did not try the artichoke, but my wife and daughter both said they were amazing. For mains, I ordered the Aragosta fra Diavolo, my wife the Cappelletti and my daughters the Carbonara. All were delicious. The fra diavolo had a nice light kick of heat and loaded with lobster tail. Excellent dish. I highly recommend Shewolf. It's a phenomenal restaurant that takes pride in their food, service and the whole experience.

My…read morecoworker had dietary restrictions (gluten-free, plus sensitivities to nuts and seafood), and the owner, who ended up being our waiter, was fantastic about walking us through the menu. He shared a great story about living in the building before it became a restaurant, and how he'd always dreamed of turning the space into a French restaurant inspired by a Paris neighborhood called Pigalle. He gave us great recommendations and tips on how to share plates. We ordered the duck, half chicken, grilled peaches, zucchini, and the milk bread service. The duck was fall-off-the-bone good, but we later found out it wasn't actually gluten-free, it's fried in oil that had previously been used for gluten-containing items. Unfortunately my coworker couldn't eat it, which was a bummer since it looked (and tasted) amazing. The half chicken was cooked perfectly, moist, flavorful, no notes. The milk bread service was a highlight: soft, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth good. The grilled peaches were good but the char was pretty light. They still had a mostly fresh, raw-peach texture rather than a deep grilled flavor. The cheese pairing that came with them was excellent though. The zucchini was similarly just barely cooked, still fresh and crisp, but well-seasoned. We also tried a couple of cocktails, which were creative and well-made; you can tell there's real thought put into the drink menu. Overall, great food, great hospitality, and a really charming concept behind the space. My one piece of feedback: they should be clearer upfront about what is and isn't safe for gluten-free, nut, and seafood-sensitive guests, since a couple of the "safe" recommendations weren't actually accurate. Would still go back and recommend it, just double-check on allergens before you order.
