This is a review for frozen pizza flown out to California. The pizza arrived still frozen via 2-day air, we ordered through Goldbelly. While they do incorporate the shipping price into the pizza it came out to about $23 per pizza. This was not our favorite. It tasted more like a flatbread pizza, crust was not to our taste. The toppings were good and it cooked up nice and crisp in the oven. And kudos for great shipping. read more

I'd seen commercials for Cape Cod Cafe and had come across their frozen pizzas in Whole Foods, but had never tried the food. When my (previously) favorite place for bar style pizza told me the wait was 1.5 hours I did a search for best pizza on the south shore and cape cod popped up. I ordered one cheese and one pepperoni/hamburger. I ordered from the Brockton location and when I got there to pick it up there were folks dining in who seemed like locals. I got a few awkward looks and thought they must not see two many of my kind in this place. Nonetheless, the staff were friendly. I waited to get home before trying the pizza and it was still warm when I arrived. It was bar style pizza at its finest. The sauce was delicious; a bit sweeter than what I'm used to but I loved it. The pepperoni and hamburger had great flavor and the crust was just crispy enough. I'll be ordering from this place from now on. read more

Hi Cape Cod Pizza has been our Go To pizza place for the past 25+ years serving what we consider probably having the pizza on the south shore, however in the past month or so the pizza has been very average to mid-poor, with our most recent visit on January 7th, being poor, We got there at 6:40 and and waited about 10 minutes to get waited on, the waitress came over and took our order and came back with our drinks shortly after, Then we waited and waited and waited until she stopped by 40 later telling us our pizzas will be out in 5 minutes, to which we said What is taking, where the waitress replied "well I put your order in at 6:54, it's very busy here (from our perspective the place was dead, maybe takeout was busy?) and it takes 45 to cook a pizza "ya know"!. That was at 7:35. Then she came right back out with a sloppy pizza and returned a few minutes later with even a sloppier 3/4 cooked pizza. We were kinda stunned only because the food and staff have been nothing short of Top Notch. I get everyone has a bad night and maybe this was 2 of them, but I'm also thinking that maybe she should have told us earlier that they were extremely busy Or "oh let me go check on your order" instead of trying to prove her point, which would have eased our frustration. I bought the diced pepperoni pizza bar pizza. It was pretty good, better when it had cooled off. The flavors of the pepperoni and cheese were intensified and more flavorful. Definitely large enough for 2 servings. However it was the only thing I ate all day, so it was perfectly filling. Better than Poopsie's, another establishment known for their bar pizza . Their frozen pizza is better than some fresh out of the oven pizzerias!! By far the best frozen pizza that I have ever had. Happiness is a mac and cheese pizza. Or Buffalo Mac if you like meat. This is one of the best bar pizzas in the area for creative pizzas (versus Town Spa or Lynwood for plain cheese). We started with the Greek salad which was huge. Skip the bread and prepare for the pizza. The meatball was well received but there was a shaved steak special pizza which was rated just ok. Cape Cod Cafe has a special place in my heart. First of all, I love pizza and that will never change unless all of my teeth fall out and need dentures. I always get take out with Mark since we're not too far from this pizza parlor. Their small pizzas are good enough if you're looking for a satisfying meal on a lunch break or for Monday Pizza Night. Personally, when I go to a pizza parlor and it's my first time, I make up my own combination of mushrooms, peppers and onions to see how everything tastes including the sauce and cheese. If after I eat that combo and I say, "YEAH, we're getting 3 of those?," then you know Amanda wants to order a specialty pizza from that same place eventually. I actually have had their buffalo chicken specialty pizza. There was one time where Mark ordered one and he didn't get a buffalo chicken pizza for himself because he thought I wouldn't fall in love with it like he did. The chicken is definitely smothered in it, but you can taste a bit of black pepper and garlic from the chicken and it goes extremely well with their buffalo sauce. I am sitting here STUNNED for two reasons. Yes STUNNED! First of all, people have been reviewing this place since 2007 and nobody has mentioned the most amazing thing they offer at Cape Cod Cafe. The second reason I am stunned is that nobody's thought of it before. I mean the chef here is absolutely brilliant!! My hat is off to him or her. What the hell am I going on about you wonder? Two words: Pastrami Burger. Yes, you heard me right. Cape Cod Cafe tops a burger with grilled black pastrami, red onions, spicy mustard, and swiss cheese. The only thing they forgot was the pickles (easily rectified). We only ended up here because our plan to go to Hungry Coyote was foiled when they closed early. I must sincerely thank them for that. If they had not, I would never have experienced the amazing creation that is the Pastrami burger and just the thought of that makes me sad. Once I noticed it on the menu and mentioned it to my dining companions, they were intrigued too. So the three of us split one because once I decided I had to try it they knew they just had to try it as well. The chef was awesome and cut it into three pieces for us. Lemme tell you, this thing is a party in your mouth. Seriously! Your tastebuds will be gettin' down. Oh yeah and the waitress rocked because she actually brought me an iced tea spoon to stir my iced tea. That may sound like a small thing but seriously, order an iced tea and see if they even bring you a spoon at all. The bar pizza was very good as well. I don't want to downplay the goodness of it while I go on and on about the pastrami burger. I was told I didn't get the full bar pizza experience because we got the buffalo chicken pizza but I think I get the gist. Next time I promise to try a more standard offering to get the real deal. Suzie didn't lie about the salad. The large is truly LARGE. Three of us split it and had a hard time getting through the whole thing. The feta is good and strong and salty just as it should be. The salad comes pre-dressed and was thankfully not drowned in dressing, a plus in my book. So bottom line if you go to Cape Cod Cafe, absolutely get the bar pizza, it's why you went there in the first place. But save room and split the pastrami burger with your dining companion. Not from this town, but the pizza is THE BOMB! It's greasy, cheesy, the crust has cheese crusting over it, and it may look small but TRUST ME. It's way more filling than it appears. They have different styles of toppings that you can go, in a typical pizza kinda way, but if you stick to the cheese you are in a very good place. Greek Salad: Perfect! It's very hard to mess up a salad, but it happens. Not here. The salad is always on point, and the dressing is plentiful and tasty. People in the greater Brockton area have been debating who has the best pizza for years. Is it the Cod, the Venus in Whitman, or the Lynwood in Holbrook? Being a Whitman guy, I lean towards the Venus, but from what I hear it is the same recipe! The Cod does have better 'ronis though. The Cod is cleaner and brighter than it's cousin in Whitman, but overall its a close second in my humble pizza eating opinion. I always ask for extra of their homemade croutons. Cape Cod is known for their famous greek salads. Overall, it's a top choice.
