My driving instructor was Monty Castillo and he was perhaps the best instructor I could've asked for. I had very little driving experience prior to the 4 week course and only had my parents to teach me the ways of the road. My parents had usually been very strict in how to drive and very "hot-headed" when I didn't do a turn to perfection or didn't understand what a sign meant. So to have an instructor like Monty, who was very relaxed and essentially the opposite of my parents was very welcome. If I made a mistake, he would simply correct me and that would be it. No yelling, no confusing explanations, no disappointment. Just a simple piece of constructive criticism and that would be it. In my mind, this is what a perfect instructor does; they help you understand what you did wrong and simply help you correct it instead of ridiculing you over past mistakes. After 3 sessions (each one being 2 1/2 hours) over the course of 4 weeks, I passed my driving exam and now have my license. I highly recommend Cantors Driving School mainly for the instructors and the opportunities. You don't need to go to the DMV to take your exam as you can simply take it with the school and you don't need your own vehicle as they provide one for you. I also met some of the other instructors there and they all give a very welcome and understanding vibe to whoever simply asks for some help. Once again, my instructor was Monty Castillo. Though I was extremely nervous and scared to get behind the wheel, I can't imagine it going any better. I got the full green light package and it was money well spent. The owner, Frank, went out of his way to make sure I got classes that worked around my hectic work schedule, which was awesome. My instructor, Larry (William), made me comfortable as soon as I got in the drivers seat; being friendly and professional while still joking around with me and getting me comfortable enough to drive. He boosted my confidence on the road and helped me become a safer driver with positive reinforcement and honest feedback. I didn't realize that I wasn't nearly as rusty as I thought I was. He also gave me specific and easy to follow instructions on parallel parking---by the time of my evaluation, I got it in a single try. He tested how focused I was by having me acknowledge signs, pedestrians, etc. Of course I made some minor slip ups, and he didn't make me feel bad at all---just was honest and straightforward with me, always a learning experience. Now I'm ready and excited to do things I was not at all ready for 2 weeks ago (the freeway used to terrify me, now I'm cautious but more than able to use it). I had just finished my driving lessons and passed my evaluation, so I will be getting my license soon! Before my lessons, I lacked confidence and was extremely anxious about driving in every way. My instructor, Christina, was very good about being gentle and calm when I was behind the wheel; even when I was too hesitant or made mistakes, she stayed calm and didn't put severe pressure on me-- which really helped ease my anxiety. Her demeanor really helped my confidence, and she was extremely helpful to my overall driving skills by giving me good tips on the road. I really appreciate the time Christina took to help guide me over the weeks, and even that she allowed me to postpone my test for a few weeks so I could get more practice beforehand. Each session, I was getting much better about driving fundamentals and my overall confidence, and at the final session, I felt ready enough to be able to drive without needing outside interference; when just a little over a month ago, I was considering not driving myself at all when I commute. Fantastic and really impressed! We are fairly new to the AZ area and wanted our teen to get proper road lessons as each state is slightly different. We signed up for their Green Light Package, which includes 10 hours of on the road driving with a certified instructor. The instructor will pick your student up and then drop them off. We had Lisa and would give her ten stars across the board! Lisa is the best!!! Lisa can read students very well and is able to gauge their pace, our teen never felt like it was lesson....a very relaxed atmosphere and Lisa was nothing but encouraging. Cantors Driving School teaches the 3 point turn, Parallel Parking and Driving Road Test and much more. Each driving lesson was 2.5 hours long and will give your student sufficient time to feel comfortable on the road and freeway. Once completed you receive a certificate which you then bring to the MVD to get your license. I would highly recommend! read more

I signed up my daughter for driving school after recently moving to Arizona. It was super easy to sign her up, and pay the fee through the website. Shortly after I signed up I received a welcome call, where they verified my information and got some background info for my daughter and her driving experience. Lisa on the phone was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. It was these small details that made me feel good about letting my 16 yo daughter go with strangers (lol). Every week before her scheduled appointment I received a phone call to confirm and go over any new information. Derek was her driving instructor and he was absolutely amazing. My daughter had a huge fear of driving with some added anxiety. I tried very hard to get her to practice drive with me - it was not working. I needed expert help. I lived in downtown Chicago and took public transportation for the last several years until I moved to Arizona this summer. When I arrived in Phoenix, I quickly realized I needed to brush up on my driving skills. I worked with Damon for two 2.5 hour sessions and I am extremely happy that I chose Cantor's Driving School. Words cannot express our gratitude toward Rachelle and Cantor's Driving School. As a parent, and our first-born coming of driving age, we were at a loss for where to begin. We tried a few self-lessons and they were so tough. We know how to drive, I am a professional driver class A, but I didn't have the knowledge to teach. I recently took a driving class.I have been struggling to drive.I have been scared to drive on busy streets. My instructor was Skip Mcomber.He was very patient and learned lots of good tips.He is a retired officer and he has seen many drivers make mistakes on the road.When I was driving on busy streets,SKip pointed out mistakes that drivers made and some I was able to see them.He thought me the importance of driving safely on the road.While a car can be fun it comes with great responsibility.I learned to be a little more confident on the road.Even though I passed the driving exam there are still lots of things to learn.I am glad that came across this school.I wouldn't be able to pass my test.God bless the company and instructors! read more

I drove with Chris Douglass and when i first stepped and in the car I knew it was gonna be a great 4 drives. He is super open hearted and relatable guy. I was able to learn from while driving and have conversations about things we have in common. He helped me on things i didn't know on the road while being super polite. Never once did was he nervous or anxious when driving with me. Never got angry or rude when i made a mistake. Stood calm at all times and i'm glad i had him all 4 times and I wouldn't recommend anyone else not saying they're bad but definitely don't compare to Chris. Stephanie took my daughter for all of her lessons in December. She was extremely personable with my daughter and really made her feel super comfortable. She learned the places my daughter would go to most like her softball practice field in Phoenix and had her drive there and back twice. Took her on all the freeways, and really helped eased her anxiety when it came to that. My favorite part about the lessons was she took her through a drive through, and the car wash. All things a teenager should learn to do, my daughter thought she was just being cool which was the best part. 10/10 recommend and if Stephanie is still there in 5 years we will use her again for my son! read more

She had been learning with me until the transmission went out on our vehicle. Cantor's drove to our home each lesson to pick her up. But at 25 years old I finally got my license thanks to Cantor's Driving School! I did the 10 hour package and was lucky to have Leah as my instructor. I just completed the Green Light Package and received my 10 hour driving certificate and the Training Completion Certificate for my license. From start to finish, my instructor, Stephanie was incredible. She was completely understanding and helped me get used to driving and feel comfortable on the roads. She never raised her voice or seemed frustrated at all. She also praised what I did right and gave helpful tips on how I could improve what I didn't.
