Also, the lounge itself is rather small. There is often a wait just to enter and with limited bench seating outside the lounge, there are sometimes a bunch of people standing around. The staff... they are nice, just not the friendliest compared to other major airline staff. For a local airline in HAWAII, I would think the "Aloha" standard would be on point.

Love that some people are considerate enough to follow general safety guidelines by using clean cups to fill their bottles. Others, nope, they stick their bottles right up to the ice or beverage dispensers to fill. Mahalo for the two staff members scanning customers in to speed up the line, and the staff who diligently refill the yummy Biscoff cookies, cups, and other supplies. (Mahalo for your patience as I watched you professionally deal with a tired passenger with a slight attitude, who was impatiently using the fancy espresso coffee machine.) There's no food served in the lounge, besides below-average airplane snacks and light beverages like water and soda. You also can't bring in outside food. With the limited amenities, this place feels like a waste of space. The only thing going for this lounge is that it sucks so badly that it deters people from coming in. We were able to grab a seat in the corner and charge our devices with the outlets nearby. Also, the way it's designed reminded us of a hospital waiting room. Not great. At the end of the day, my friend and I are just Priority Pass members. Pay a three-digit annual fee, book a basic/saver flight ticket, and board in the last group kind of folks, so I suppose we can't complain too much.

We booked another party in 2025 and prices were still very reasonable. We decided to cater through them for our party. I was a tad skeptical but was proven wrong. For a party of roughly 75, we ordered just one pan of each thing and it was more than enough. We had the fried noodles, fried rice, short rib, smoke meat, chicken wings., lumpia and fried ahi. The food was Ono!! It was so good that we thought about catering from them even if we don't have a party there. I think his name was Clyde or Klein who cooks the food - bolohead guy. I think the only take away is that you have to keep the doors closed for AC which makes sense but if you have a jumper outside it's hard to see and the kids will keep going in and out. This lounge is simply a quiet place to sit and wait for your flight away from the noisy chatter and overhead announcements at the terminal. They have complimentary wifi and outlets to charge your devices. If you snag a seat by the windows you have a lovely view of the garden. There is no food or alcohol. You are also not allowed to eat any food or snacks you bring into the lounge yourself. They do offer some beverages including coffee, tea, juice, water, and some canned sodas. I actually really enjoyed the yummy guava juice they had available! Overall I would not pay money to enter this lounge. If your credit card perks include a limited number of Priority Pass lounge visits I would skip this one. My boyfriend has unlimited Priority Pass lounge access with two free guests as a Ritz Carlton card holder so we lose out on nothing by coming in, but compared to other airport lounges we've visited this lounge definitely leaves a lot to be desired.

Today, I'm flying commercial out of terminal one at HNL, and I go through security, only to find out that the USO is in terminal two outside security. I thought it would be nice if I could grab a bite to eat, and possibly take a shower before my nine hour flight. So I catch the shuttle and I go over there. I ring the bell, and this lady comes to the door. She looks at my ID, and she says I can't let you in. I explained I've used the USO in the past, and I'm even in their computer system. So she looks back to who I assume is the boss, who is making lunch, and says as loud as she can, HEY, JERRY.... I GOT A 100% DISABLED VETERAN! " and of course, a bunch of people look over toward me... Well, that was embarrassing. Jerry, who's making lunch, doesn't even bother to look up. He just shakes his head and waves me off, like.... "Sorry..." I screwed up my body serving this country, and I should be allowed to use the USO. They allow retired military to use the USO, but they are not serving anymore If they have limited funds, and I can't use it anymore like I used to, that's fine. Maybe they could charge a small admission fee for disabled veterans to help cover the cost Regardless, they could be nicer about it.
