They explained everything so I could understand and never once tried to pressure me. They provided me with an extremely detailed list of items I could consider in the future and a specific times/mileage. They also texted me details including pictures of what they did. Overpriced and subpar repairs. I should have just took my car to the dealership for repairs. The total cost for the repairs was $4,800. And I had to take it back to them because the vehicle was not running right after the repairs. I just got a quote from the dealership for the repairs and they quoted me $3,500. I will never go back to his place and I suggest no one else go to this place. Plus two months later my car is broke down because I'm pretty sure they left something loose. read more

I have a wonderful experience every time I go to Cannon's. The receptionists are absolutely beautiful souls. I took my 3 year old daughter in today. They were great with her! They didn't mind her being loud or running around. They even participated in helping her scare one of the young technicians. They even remembered the name we call my car when it was finish so my daughter knew what was going on since "Jellybean had to see the doctor!" By far the best experience I've ever had in my 18 years of driving and having cars serviced. Thank you for making life simpler in the smallest of ways for a single mom. They did what I asked them to do, and I have no complaints about the work on my truck. However, I had an interlock device on my truck and I both explained and left in writing specific instructions on how to use it. A simple three-step, Blow, Inhale, Blow process ... They insisted on using my truck to take me back to my hotel while I waited for them to work on it. Subsequently, the attendant left my instructions laying on the counter as we left. She locked my device up and normally it would have cost $75 to have it reset, but I explained it to the Interlock device company and they let it slide. I guess they looked a the video to confirm. But, still. It's not complicated. Anyways, if it were not for that, everything else went smoothly and it was about what I expected to pay. read more

I got the appointment on the day and time I requested. Car was serviced quickly and efficiently.

I had my car towed here when my clutch went out on the highway because they were a AAA-approved location (I called AAA for the tow) and they were nearby. I was charged $140 for them to essentially just look at the vehicle (I've never been charged by my mechanic in Chicago for this) and then quoted $3400 in repairs, which would mean that I needed to buy a new car as it is more than the value of the vehicle and way more than I could afford to spend. I was told that it would probably be okay to drive back to Chicago (no guarantees, granted, but heck, it might run just fine for a whole year as far as we know!), so I risked it. The clutch stopped working again less than a half hour after I left their shop and I had to pull over on the side of a busy highway in Gary, IN and call another tow truck to take it back to Chicago. Another 5 hours of my life...and glad I spent that $140 just to risk getting into an accident! I had the car towed to my mechanic in Chicago, who did a thorough check on the car (for free) and quoted me HALF the price that Cannon quoted to replace MORE parts with original factory parts (they included a brand new clutch). Beyond this, I called a mechanic friend in Cincinnati and described my issues and he quoted me within $200 of the Chicago quote without me telling him about the other quotes. Both the Chicago and Cincinnati mechanics balked when I told them the $3400 quote. The added stress and anxiety of thinking I had to replace my car for the past two days--which I currently cannot afford and which I very much need for my job--has just left me flat out furious. Avoid this place at all costs. I wish I'd had time to read the other reviews before I let my car be towed there. I'm pretty sure I've never written a negative review on Yelp, but this was worth warning people about. read more

I took my old Jeep to Cannon's for a tune-up. I will admit, they did a good job, they were honest and upfront, and they didn't do any extra work without asking me first. But it still ended up costing me almost $600! For a tune-up! I heard that Cannon's costs more than other shops, but it's worth it for the excellent work and customer service. I have an inkling though, if I had a man with me they wouldn't have charged me so much. Every guy I told about my experience was baffled by how much I was charged. So, if you've got a newer car and enough savings to cover any emergency maintenance, then Cannon's is a great place to go. I think I'll keep looking for a good mechanic. read more

Called to get a "Rough Estimate" to get a clutch replaced on my car (obviously if the clutch is out the car does not move) and I was asked can I drive the vehicle there (hmm let that marinate) first red flag that they have no clue what they are doing. I explained that, then was told we can tow your vehicle here, and look at the vehicle (keep in mind, I'm looking for a rough estimate) and they say if you get it repaired here, we will waive the towing fee's. That's great but in order for me to say sure you can fix my car, I need to know a "rough" amount so I can see if it is within my budget...I'm not just going to say here... tow my vehicle there, look at it, and you give me a ridiculous estimate for repair, then have to have you tow the car back to my place and pay you x amount of dollars (which would more than likely be inflated due to not getting service done there). Funny how all these other companies in your surrounding area can give a rough estimate over the phone...a couple gave an exact estimate. Definitely will not get repairs done here nor recommend this place. read more
