Thankfully, there is no line and we were able to drive up into the empty bay. After a friendly and courteous greeting and inquiry re: needs, Matt and his crack team get us in and out in less than 30 minutes -- more like 20, to be exact. From centering to exiting, Matt explains each step of the process; the computer monitor clearly lists the services you are charged for; it also swings around, allowing you to view in real time, who is under your vehicle and what is being done; they are in constant communication with each other, via verbal calls and echo verification. I appreciate how the 3 man team works quickly, efficiently and most importantly safely. I am at ease, knowing that they are paying attention to the tasks in progress, are NOT on their phones, you see/hear them at all times. EVERYONE is safe. Can you tell how important "safety" is?! Especially for these gainfully employed young men who (most definitely are not 'ne'er do wells') showed up for work and have their whole lives ahead of them! If you are asked to turn the vehicle and it's wipers on/off, they provide a reasonable rationale behind it. Matt kindly reset the vehicle's service reminder for us, and gave us the window sticker reminder (listing recommended mileage & oil type replacement) -- Excellent! Some people want conversation, that's not why we're there. I appreciate how they respect our time -- No inane conversation/questions about the weather or invasive questions re: where are you from, what you're up to/plans are. Professional courtesy up front, state your business, then Matt and his team go all in like BOSSES. After the oil is changed, you are shown the new oil level, so you have eyes on it and have confidence in their work. After applying the online coupon, it was $133.73 for Daughter's Sport edition SUV: fluids topped off, filthy air filter changed out, 4qts full synthetic oil, multiple point safety check/verification in under 30 minutes. Pricey? Perhaps, but a more than fair price for SAFE, efficient, no-frills/no-pressure sales pitches. The time saved is WORTH IT! From a cynical health care professional in a very time driven, every detail is crucial role -- stellar, impressive work ethic/flow! This generation still has people who work hard to earn a fair day's wages. Thank you, Matt and team -- You all were great!

I took it to Jiffy Lube at 4425 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN (near 20 bypass) for free testing of the alternator and battery, and the service couldn't have been better or friendlier! The assistant manager, Fred, was very kind and explained exactly what they found or did not find. He and the other two employees discussed with me what might be causing the issue--a loose bolt on the negative terminal of the battery. It turned out it was neither my battery or the alternator, but apparently, this loose bolt, which was actually stripped--which Fred showed me. Fred installed the new part and my car started perfectly. He restarted it again to be sure. All in all, I was in the shop maybe half an hour at most, and it only cost $10! I highly recommend taking your car in to this Jiffy Lube and having these gentlemen take care of whatever basic automotive needs you might have! They were above-board, friendly, and even more helpful. Thanks, Fred, and your staff at Jiffy Lube!

The work is getting done, I don't have to do it, and I still keep my oil change place.

    There is so much going wrong that I don't know where to start. I dropped my car off on 4-20-2026…read moreafter I was sideswiped. I was quoted that I would get the car back the following Friday and I would have the car back as good as new. The 24th rolled around, and I was told it would be following Monday after some minor difficulties. When Monday rolled around, I was told by the end of that week they would be done. On the 1st of May, they claimed some more difficulties and said to call back the next week. I called back on the 12th of May, and they said that most likely Thursday the 7th I would get that car back, But by the end of that week for sure. Friday the 8th rolled around, and they gave me a specific time of 5:00pm to pick the car up. So, I called off the last 2 hours of my shift to go pick it up. We got a call back at about 4:30 saying that they weren't done yet so they were going to stay late so I could pick it up at 6:00pm. 5:30Pm they called and said it would be the following Monday because the Technician left early at 4:45pm. Monday the 11th arrived and by 4:30 I had to call to see if it was done and they said they had to order washer parts and that those parts would be in the following day. I called the next day (Tuesday the 12th) and they said it turns out they didn't actually need those parts, so they would finish putting the car back together the next day, scan through it, get a front-end alignment, and wash it. I finally got notified that I would get the car back at 5:00pm on the 13th . We pulled up at 4:45 and saw a couple of issues from chipped paint to deep scratches that were ignored. Hood alignment was off, a part that was destroyed from the road due to the impact was not replaced, Charged parts that were never installed, as well as the gap between my driver's door and fender being almost nonexistent. Overall, they did a decent job fixing some cosmetics and fitting the bumper back, but they missed too many things for them to be considered reliable. They were also very disappointing and unprofessional with communicating these things to me. My phone number and name were down on the paperwork as the contact with any information they had for me. Over those 3 1/2 weeks, they did not call me once. They contacted my dad, even after I left the service advisor several voicemails and texts. So, I was very unimpressed with the lack of information and detail from my service advisor. Overall, this experience with Gates Body Shop has left me very disappointed, unimpressed, and frustrated. I would not recommend this business, even in a last resort situation. 2 stars is generous, but they did manage to do a few things correctly.
