AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS. Incompetent service and deceptive practices…read more I was sent to MTI by Discount Tire for an alignment on my Subaru Outback. MTI completely failed to align the vehicle properly, leaving my front specs in the red. When the car continuously pulled and permanently damaged my brand-new tires over the next 2,000 miles, MTI lied directly to me. They claimed I had a "worn tie rod" that prevented them from doing the alignment correctly, just to avoid taking responsibility for their botched job. To make matters worse, they couldn't even provide my final alignment sheets, claiming their printer had been "broken for four months." Knowing something wasn't right, I took my car to an honest, independent shop in town (Apex Auto Care). Their technicians fully inspected my suspension, confirmed my tie rods were in perfect condition, and successfully aligned the car with zero issues. MTI completely fabricated a mechanical failure to cover up their own negligence. I submitted the documented proof of MTI's false diagnosis to Discount Tire's Corporate Litigation department. Corporate issued me a full settlement for MTI's negligence and has since started referring their alignment customers to other shops. Save your money, your tires, and your safety--take your vehicle to an honest mechanic instead.

Sit down and grab some popcorn because we're about to spill some tea. Today is 8/23/2023. A family member of mine was having many troubles with their car, and was recommended by a friend to take it to C&C Auto Repair (said friend personally knew the owner of this shop). For the record: we'd had this car looked at and minor issues fixed by multiple mechanical friends. My family member had their car towed to this auto shop on 7/3/2023. The car sat in their lot for 2 weeks - without a call/email update from the shop to car owner - before the owner of the car called the shop to check in on their vehicle. The service writer at the shop briefly explained that the mechanics "have seen and diagnosed the car". Rightfully so, the owner of the vehicle was confused as to why no one had contacted them for an update to let them know the next steps. The service writer said they were going to order a part, and call with an update once it was received and the work was going to be started. Another week passes by - no call from the shop. The owner of the vehicle called and asked for an update. Apparently, they had "just gotten in the part and were waiting on a 'big job' to finish up before they were to start on their vehicle which was 'immediately next". Another week goes by, no update from the shop. Once again, the owner of the vehicle called and asked if they'd started on the repair yet. The service writer continued to give my family member the run-around, saying "we hope to get to it by the weekend". The weekend would pass, the owner would call again for an update the following Monday or Tuesday, to which the service writer would say "we hope to get it to this week" etc etc. This continued for an additional 3 weeks, each time the service writer promising the owner a call for an update, to which the owner was never contacted. The owner of the vehicle called for updates each time they ever spoke with the auto shop. Not once did my family member get a straight answer to anything, or get the chance to speak with the owner of the shop. A quick note to add: my family member relies on their car for their job. During this time, they've had to borrow multiple family members cars just to get to and from work. The customer service and decency C&C provided was next level UNPROFESSIONAL, and in my opinion, should be reprimanded for. My next step is to call the better business bureau to file a complaint. Well, you can bet your ass, I will never go back to there and anybody who does you're a fool I have warranty insurance on my vehicle but because they couldn't find nothing wrong they charged me $90 for the diagnostic kept the car most of the day but first they told me they would get to it when they get to it and everything else goes wrong with my car screw the warranty. I will go pay for it out-of-pocket and put in a claim but I suggest to everyone in Laporte don't go there number one I don't think they know what the hell they're doing and number two that's how you're supposed to treat customers talking to them like they're absolute idiots. It took them over a week to fix (it's a 3 hours job). The alignment was botched and the steering wheel was not straight when it was returned to me. When I called them back to correct the issue, the service advisor informed me I can certainly bring the truck back... but they intend to KEEP the truck until my previous bill was paid by my warranty company. Shocked, I called the warranty company to see what was going on. They told me the dealer would not accept their payment due to having to run it through through a credit card service (100% of 3rd party warranties do this with 0 problems at other dealers). Apparently, Tyler did not want to pay the 3% fee for the transaction. Why this was not added to the cost (to me) I will never know. But Tyler would not accept payment and told me they would KEEP my truck until I PAID the full bill (I had already paid the deductible upon completion of the service that day). I wrote to the Service Manager with this problem, hoping to find a solution that worked for everyone. No reply. I emailed the General Manager. No reply. I then emailed Scott Tyler directly to tell him how his customer was being treated, because if it was my business, I would certainly want to know. No reply. I told them all in my email that I was reaching out to correct the issue in order to not have to do what I am doing today, which is share negative feedback with all social media and RamCares. Since there was nothing after several weeks of trying, here we are. And my steering wheel is still crooked, which I will now have to pay someone else to fix. Horrible service, incompetent employees, management, AND ownership. Take your money elsewhere so you don't have the same experience.
