They were able to slot us in the next day when I called in, which was really appreciated. The store is also really well stocked on both the first and second level so there was a lot to browse through. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to others!

I was going to just find somewhere else, but I let the management know I was unhappy - and I'm glad I did. They agreed that the cut my dog got did not look like the image I provided, so I was offered a discount on my next groom and a different groomer was recommended. Her name is Melissa, and she has been doing an amazing job on my Shihtzu since! My girl gets lots of compliments when she leaves.

Sometimes it was a dismayed comment, "what a little monkey your dog is", which is particularly upsetting for the less obvious reason that I had indeed settled for dog instead of actual monkey. Or, an admonishing, "it took 3 of us to groom him" which invariably follows the unspoken: better leave bigger tip. Fortunately, a few years ago after giving up on another Yorkville groomer, I discovered Pawfect Spa. The space is clean and bright and the staff are friendly, but what really got my attention is that the owners are not just shop owners, but also dog owners of seemingly high maintenance dogs! Trust me, this is quite rare in my experience. Though it's going back a few years since my dog's first groom at Pawfect Spa, I clearly recall my surprise when I meekly asked the usual, "uh, how was he?" and received the unusual, "he was great." Yes, he looked great, in fact, my partner couldn't resist referring to him as "toy dog", but what about all that monkey business? The groomer seemed perplexed by my concern for her sanity and I, for the first time didn't have to offer an apology! Still, when I returned the next time, I asked more directly, "was he difficult?" to which the groomer sweetly replied, "well, he doesn't like his paws touched, but one of us talks to him while the other grooms." And let me reiterate, the grooming IS great; actually, it's only gotten better over time and still not even the slightest grievance from any of the groomers. There has never been a cut, nick or scratch nor have I ever seen him returned to me with irritated bloodshot eyes. It did take a few visits to figure out the length I preferred on his limbs and face, but once we did, Elsie took photos and matched it each subsequent visit. Lastly, a couple of years ago, my dog started losing hair and Elsie suggested he get checked out for Cushing's Disease. I did, and well, she had totally called it. If Elsie was my vet, she would have saved me almost $800 for various tests that simply confirmed what she had suspected. It's been a relief to find a dog spa that I can trust and unlike previous groomers, I can genuinely say that I don't fret when my dog is with Elsie and her staff. I highly recommend and will keep going back!

Both times, they claimed my dog pooped and peed while being bathed which is a surprise. My dog is used to baths so the only reason for her behaviour would be, she was badly treated which made her scared. My other suspicion is that this place lies about it so they can charge extra $20 for the clean up. When you do not give them a tip, rightly so, for the poor treatment of my pet, they complain. Never again, we will be using this facility and you should avoid it as well!

Tire Biter was definitely the most accommodating in terms of my schedule and being able to accommodate me so last minute. Nancy, I'm assuming is the owner (I may be wrong), answered the phone and was extremely helpful and pleasant. The morning of my pup's grooming appointment, I had the opportunity to meet Nancy and she's wonderful. When I came in, there were other dogs and their owners coming in for grooming and/or daycare. All the dogs came in extremely excited and happy - which is a good sign! On top of that, Nancy knew ALL the dogs and owners names - which shows that she genuinely cares. I came to pick my pup up about 2 hours later and I was extremely happy! He no longer smelled dirty (he plays outside a lot :( lol ), his coat was much softer than it usually is, his nails were cut - although one or two looked as though they weren't or were cut very unevenly, but I may be wrong. Regardless, I am extremely happy with the quality and service. My heart melted when my pup came out to see me, super clean with a cute bandana around his neck! I deducted one star because when my s/o came to pick him up, the person at the front desk (no longer Nancy) was on a personal call the entire time ... which isn't the best customer service. I DO NOT recommend this store!…read more I knew what winter coat I wanted and chose to find a local business to support that carried it. #1: It took 4 COLD WEEKS TO ARRIVE, because they waited for more orders before they would send in their order! When they called to say it arrived, I said that I would pick it up the next day at 8am. #2: Waited and waited on the sidewalk while they tried to find the order. They came out with a "similar coat" (their words), and I remarked it was too big (dog would pee on it) and wrong colour. They then went back into the store to bag what I was told would be the one I did order. #3: When I took it out of the bag the next day to put it on, I realized they put the WRONG COAT in the bag. It was the wrong colour and wrong size. Tried it on anyway, to give it a chance. I believe it was the "similar coat" they tried the day before. #4: Phoned 24 hrs after pick-up, to say I was bringing back the coat because it was the wrong colour and size - and that my actual order must be in their store by their mistake. #5: TOLD I CAN'T EXCHANGE OR RETURN COAT, EVEN THOUGH THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG ONE!!
