We stopped in here to grab a quick bite to eat. We ordered various food, salad, pizza, and chicken parm sandwich. The salad was plentiful and a great presentation. The pizza was on point and what we expected and wanted. For the chicken parm, I asked for them to grill it and he agreed to do it. What I expected basically was bread, red sauce, and cheese. When I got it, it had some other sauces on there and it lessened how good it could have been. Would I order that again, not necessarily. But, everything else was great. The server was overly nice and was very attentive to us. A portion of the money they make goes to a non for profit dog rescue, so this is even more of a plus for this restaurant. read more

Something needs to be done about the to-go order situation, it literally gets worse every time I order takeout to the point where I will probably stop altogether if it's this bad again. I walk in at 7:00 on a Sunday and there are already 4 people standing in front of the pick up counter that is awkwardly placed in the dining room. We stand around for a few minutes, and then that becomes ten minutes, then fifteen. I'm not exaggerating when I say it took 15 minutes for someone to come to the counter and check on what had become 6 or 7 people standing there. She got the first person her order, and then a customer who was seated outside pulled her away for some reason (never saw her again except for her to speed walk as fast as she could past the line to get to the kitchen), and it was another 5 minutes of waiting till someone walked out from the back of the kitchen and started asking peoples names and getting them their orders. It's one thing to be busy and backed up, that's unfortunate but it's understandable. I don't mind waiting longer than the estimated time because it's food service, sometimes things take longer than usual. But in my opinion it is unacceptable to put people's food behind the counter and just have them stand there for 20 minutes as it gets cold. Every person who ended up waiting with me had their food ready to go when the last guy finally made his way over. The rest of the staff seriously acted like we had leprosy. All the waiters who were picking up food made a deliberate point to not make eye contact with any of the folks waiting at the counter. At one point (about 15 minutes in), I asked a bus boy if he could check on anyone's order and he mumbled something and went outside (never saw him again). I don't take any joy in writing a negative review for this place, as I love their food, but the fact that I have had such bad service at the pick up counter multiple times is indicating to me that there is an issue with how the staff is trained. It seems like an easy enough fix to train people how to look for someone's name on a rack. read more

This is an awesome place to stop and have a wood burning, brick firing pizza!!!!! Cool decor outside that for sure makes for amazing photos!!!!!!!! The pizza here is off the chain!!!!!! You can actually see the staff clean the fire stove as your pizza is being made!! Super cool!!! Cane Rosso is one of my favorites and I was not disappointed with my first visit to the White Rock location. The restaurant is spacious and has a nice outdoor area. I was easily able to get a reservation for our group through OpenTable. We went for May the Fourth and had fun dressing up for their Star Wars event. We also received a 25% discount because of our costumes! The Mista and Capra salads are two of our favorites to start with. All the pizzas are incredible, but you can always find the Che Cazzo, Proscuitto E Rucola, and Honey Bastard (off menu) on our table. You can't leave Cane Rosso without dessert. The dessert pizzas, S'mores Calzone, and tiramisu are my favorites. It's always hard to decide which to get! read more

The worst overall energy I've experienced on a restaurant in a very long time. I ordered a small ceasar salad for pick up. When I arrived I picked up my salad the price was 9.74 and I gave the waitress $10. I waited for my change. As I'm waiting for about 2 minutes she tells me she needs someone to open the drawer. I continue to wait patiently for my change. Another woman comes to the register opens it up and says we don't give change. The salad was 9.64 and you gave us $10. I asked her since when do restaurants not provide change. She said we just don't. I then explained to her the waitress who took my money never informed me. She hair said she needed someone to open the register to give me my change. This woman then says I can give you the change out of my purse. So I waited for it. At this point it's the principle. They were trying to make me feel ashamed for wanting what was mine which was my change. I don't care it were a penny. It's my choice to decide if I want someone to keep the change and intuitively I didn't. I even heard to of the waitress talking about me for waiting on my change. Kindness goes a long way. They don't know what my circumstances are. I actually needed the change for something else which was air for my tire which as low. I was short a quarter. Seriously. But all this to say the worst part is when I got ready to eat my $9 salad it was wilted and gross. I want to go take it back and ask for a refund but all they're gonna do is shame me for returning their bad product so instead I'm posting a video of what it looks like. At least if you're gonna hire people with poor judgment, be able to stand behind you're product. I've been the to Cane Rosso many times in Deep Ellum. Go there. My husband had never been to Cane Rosso before, so I was so excited to introduce him to some of the best Pizza in Dallas! Sadly, I'll likely never get him to come back. Our waitress never introduced herself (or really spoke to us at all) but she was a very unfriendly, average height, brunette with a pony tail. We were seated on the left side of the main room of the restaurant. We ordered an appetizer, then ordered our entrees about 10-15 minutes later. Our appetizer and my husband's entree came up shortly after. We waited a total of 20 minutes after his entree came to receive mine. We received no communication (or check in) from our waiter so eventually chased down another waiter to see where mine was. He was very kind, apologized and said he would speak to a manager. A manager never came to our table, our waitress slammed my entree down and said "this is the worst day ever" before she stormed off. She never said that she was sorry for the poor service/entree delay and didn't speak another word to us. The food was delicious but we didn't love having to watch each other eat and agreed that it was the worst service we've experienced in years. I have been meaning to try this place for some time now, and finally did a few days ago. Bottom line: pizza is a 5.1 (Barstool pizza scale). The restaurant is kind of hidden from the street on a second level of a shopping complex which requires driving up a street to access. I had read so many great Yelp reviews on this place and the pictures looked pretty promising. I ordered a regular Margherita pizza to go. The pizza was ready in about 15 min. The drive to my home is less than 10 min from the restaurant so there is no reason why it should be anything but hot still. Sadly, the pizza was barely warm when I opened the box and picked up the first slice. Barely any basil topping, floppy crust with no crispy to it, and mediocre sauce taste. Once reheated and more basil added, it was a little better but still not what I expected. Very disappointing and not at all the same quality in other Yelp reviews. Maybe it was an off night and they pulled the pizza early? Giving this place the benefit of doubt and will try again. read more

I GIVE IT ZERO STARS IF I COULD! My husband and I went there recently! We got seated at the only table and chair in the middle of the restaurant . The water guy brought us some water and told us, " your waitress will be with you." We sat there for 30 minutes with nobody coming over to ask us what we want to drink, appetizers, or not even to take our entrees. It was not too busy and they had waitress all over the restaurant. When we walked out, there was a waiter leaning on the hostess table. The only comment he made was " have a good night!" We replied. " we never got served because we never got a waitress or waiter." The 3 stars is for the food, it's great for what it is. Placing an over the phone order is absolute hell. There's been a few occasions where I've called and no one answers. I don't know about most people but if I have to call more than 3 times and no one picks up I'm just picking a other place to order from. It's almost like they purposely don't answer the phone because I've dined in before and it's never that busy to where someone cannot answer. We were originally sat outside (per our request) and there were mosquitos EVERYWHERE, ants on the tables ... I understand we are sitting outside but I think a few fans scattered around outside would have greatly helped. Our server was nice enough to help us move inside . Inside, the booth pleather was all torn up, making it super itchy. Overall, I think the owners should invest a bit in upgrading certain parts of the restaurant for a better experience. I love other Cane Rosa locations but your food is not the same, I have ordered many times over the past few months and it has been consistently bad, bolognese that is nothing more than a glob of mozzarella and too salty sauce. So this last time I ordered your spaghetti and meatballs what I got was a tough doughball over cooked swollen mushy pasta in a too salty sauce. I will never patronize your establishment ever again.
