Cane Rosso in Dallas has a great family-friendly atmosphere and a warm, inviting vibe that makes it an easy place to relax. The authentic wood-fired pizza oven is a centerpiece of the restaurant, and the menu offers a wide variety of unique pizza options with creative flavors you don't find everywhere. Their meatball appetizer is solid, and the salads are surprisingly great-fresh, balanced, and definitely worth ordering. That said, the pizza itself is where things fall short for me. Despite the thin crust, it comes out wet, floppy, and lacking any real crispness. It's honestly the most floppy pizza I've ever had, and it tends to fall apart as you eat it, which takes away from the experience. The flavors are fine, but the texture really misses the mark. The good news is that Cane Rosso offers plenty of non-pizza options that help make up for it, and the atmosphere, service, and variety keep it from being a bad visit. But if you're coming strictly for great pizza, just be prepared: this style is soft, wet, and definitely not crisp. I give the pizza a 2. Earns an extra star for atmosphere and service and decent appetizers and good salads. If you're hungry for good or even decent pizza go somewhere else. **update** the $11 house salad is comically lacking. The wood-fired cheesy garlic bread ain't it either folks. See attached photos. I personally didn't like it, We ordered the Cane Rosso and it came out soggy and the bottom was burned. Before you come at me, I get it wood-fired pizzas can get little burnt spots on this but there was way too much burnt on it. How one accomplishes burnt and soggy simultaneously is a mystery. With that said the size wasn't too bad, the amount of toppings that was on it felt about right for $22 and our waitress was good at her job. I just can't get past the burnt, soggy nonsense. We did family style so we can try different food options such as two types of salads, three pizza's, and two type of pasta's. My favorite was the bolognese, the pizole corn pizza, and the Cesar salad. Also got to try their different drinks. Remarkably incompetent. I placed two orders online for delivery directly from their website, one was delivered the other one was not. Their drivers (they outsource their direct delivery to doordash) kept calling me that when they went to pick up, there was no order because they had given it away already. When I reached out to the restaurant to ask for the order to be either redelivered or canceled and refunded, their manager told me literallly that "they cannot give away free food", and that I should reach out to doordash for a refund. No matter how many times I told them I ordered directly from them (I have an order confirmation email from Cane Rosso), they did not listen nor care. Now I paid $55 for an order I never consumed. In other words, they stole my money and are unaccountable. Do I think they did it deliberately? No. I think they are just incredibly incompetent. Their staff doesn't fully understand how their system works, but most importantly they don't listen to guests nor care about providing service. Think about the emotional intelligence of a restaurant employee that receive a call from a guest who says they've not received the food, in that very moment the delivery driver is at the restaurant confirming that the order is not there, and their answer is "we don't give away free food". P.s. this is the first 1-star review I write in my life. I have a lot of patience for mistakes, much less for money being stolen. read more

Probably the nicest bartender in Dallas and THE BEST Happy hour deal is tucked away at Cane Russo off Gaston and Tucker road. Giovani ("I've been hired at every Italian place I've ever applied to!") was efficient and funny as he expertly took care of the customers at the bar and the orders from the half dozen busy servers. Shout Out to manager Chip (wearing a ridiculous shirt with a hot dog pattern all over it) worked the room all night and checked in with Giovani regularly. My friend and I visited Cane Rosso on an early afternoon Wednesday. As one would expect the place was very empty which was OK with us. It gave us a chance to take in the ambiance which is both comfortable and stylish. The interior is large with a separate room, I'm guessing, giving groups some privacy. Since the weather was perfect we chose to sit outside in the "courtyard " which features picnic tables and an elevated deck which adds interest and atmosphere. We felt comfortable and "at home". But all the atmosphere in the world is wasted if the food isn't good. The food was good. Very good. We shared a Caesar's Salad and the pizza of the month. The salad was fresh and tasty and included anchovies (which I could do without). The wood fired pizza was delicious topped with a light sauce, pesto, sausage, and a chili oil. A word about the crust. Our server gave us a heads up regarding it. It was a bit chewy and the texture seemed softer. More bread like. My friend had water. I opted for the Roller Town Big German Kolsch which was the right choice for me. Our server went over and above. He explained the particulars of their process, was friendly and was timely in bringing food and refills. This Cane Rosso is a little bit different to find. It's located on the upper level of the shopping center at the Gaston, Garland, (East) Grand intersection. Turn at the light and go up the hill. It's a but of a chore to find it the first time. New to this location on Gaston, so completely satisfied with our experience. Just goes to show the quality and consistency of any location of Cane Rosso you visit. We had to have the Truff Daddy again after falling in love with it when it was feature Pizza of the month at the Star location within the last few years. We shared the delicious Buratta and Peppers, wetting our palette with ice cold Peronis.
