It takes a lot for me to write any review - positive or negative - unless I think there really is something to share. Exceptional food in a hole in wall that I think others must try - you bet I will share the place. Insulting and crude customer service....most definitely will share.
Recently, my friends and I went to Cane Rosso for dinner. A friend and I were in town, visiting our other friends that live in the DFW area. We were hungry and ordered 3 apps, 2 pizzas and ONE bottle of wine to start. We had just started on the pizzas and weren't even done drinking the wine when the manager abruptly came by to say she 'was no longer serving you guys wine due to a complaint.' She walked away and we had to ask our waiter who filed the complaint and why. The manager came back and said it was obvious we didn't need any more alcohol. Um, we weren't even buzzed. We asked to know what the specific complaint was and who we bothered. The debate went back and forth. Mind you, we know the manager isn't going to tell us which patrons were upset. And we couldn't get a clear answer. In my opinion, management gave us a pretty BS answer. And the 4 of us are in management so we have heard them all. We knew we were not going to win this battle and actually paid and left. Yes, we paid the bill. And the only reason we were at this restaurant is bc my friend had heard about the pizza and wanted to try it!
Only logical thing we were able to conclude about our mistreatment was that the 4 of us were having a very healthy debate about the corona virus over our meal. Unfortunately, One of the individuals in the group is Asian and sneezed during dinner. Twice to be exact. What is the big deal? Everyone sneezes and you don't have to be sick. Patrons must have felt uncomfortable when our friend sneezed and thought, 'my goodness, that individual is Asian and sneezing. I am going to get Corona Virus.' Folks, if you are worried about getting corona virus or the flu, you should not be dining out. In fact, why are you using the restaurant utensils or drinking from their cups? The virus is contagious and you have just touched and put your mouth to everything all previous patrons - sick or healthy - have put into their mouths.
To make things worse, we went to the brewery behind Cane Rosso. One of our friends ordered beer and was told we were not going to be served bc Cane Rosso called to say we were a disturbance. WOW. Well we did drink our beers. And our Asian friend did drink from a beer too so maybe everyone should be careful and bring their own steins to the brewery.
And be careful about going to Cane Rosso since our Asian friend was there -- bring your own utensils, plateware, cups. You know the drill.
That's fine if you Call out an Asian for sneezing. Lucky for everyone, the corona virus/flu or any illness does not discriminate. It is an equal opportunity employer. Be safe, be healthy, be educated and be kind to everyone. read more
