Food was excellent; drinks were excellent. We ate at the one that was in Deep Ellum (not sure if it's still there) a few years ago. I remembered the pizza was great. We ate at the Carrollton location last night because it was halfway between our house and my cousin's and his wife's house. Doubt we will purposely return to Carrollton anytime soon. I'm giving a rating of three because the food was a five and the service was a one. I actually don't write reviews very often, and I don't think I've done one in the last two years. But the guy who waited on us was rushing us out before we even got our drinks. We ordered our drinks, and he said, "it's going to take a while because the bar is backed up." (suggestion: That's not a great opening line.) "Do you want to go ahead and order your food?" (To which we said no.) He seemed put out from the get-go. Finally, I had to tell him directly, "We're not in a rush, even though you are." He's probably late 20s, dark hair, a beard, and overall a really poor performer. If he doesn't like his job, he should go do something else, though I doubt he's qualified to do much other than be on welfare. We bought four entrées, an appetizer, and two rounds of drinks. We probably would've bought more but for this really poor waiter. This is a good restaurant with very good food and a good concept. You (owner/manager) need to take much more care on the people side. It's hard to hire good talent these days but you need to do better than this. Good luck. But you need to realize there are way too many choices out there. And, if anything, this review is quite generous. read more

We usually like the food there, we've ordered delivery a couple of times usually hit or miss to be honest. Last time they sent us burnt pizza, the other one was slightly undercooked too. The fact that they would send obviously burnt pizza is pretty disappointing. But when not, Burnt pizza is pretty good. read more

Came here and didn't know it's happy hour so we thought we'd order from the happy hour menu. So we got the Emma. Our. Men enjoyed it very much--can't go wrong with sausage pizza. The CBF pizza was also very tasty. Now the Voodoo Mama Juju was disappointing; it seemed like it was not seasoned, it's very bland. It looked good on the menu, I mean spinach, mushrooms, zucchini, bell peppers, pesto and mozzarella--come on, it sounded really good right? WRONG! So I will not recommend this unless they make changes to it and make it more zing! For dessert we ordered a small Bella Mela, this was bomb! Not too sweet but refreshing. Their beer, the Peroni was also good. We also ordered to-go, their Friday & Saturday night special: Brisket Lasagna Bolognese. Now this is top notch! This is highly recommended, try it next time when you go there on a Friday or Saturday night because this is very limited, when it's gone, it's gone. Ambience was cozy. There weren't much customers when we came at 5 pm on a Friday night but in a few minutes time it got packed. Service was tops. This young man Kenny was very pleasant, attentive and made recommendations. We'd love to go back and try their pastas. read more

We did not get a chance to take pictures but we got so many different meals for a staff lunch the chicken parmigiana was so good and the chicken was so big! The jalapeño pasta was very good. Perfect amount of spice tasted great with the pesto. The fried mozzarella bites could've gotten more cheese inside, but all in all we're very good. The mac & cheese with bacon was very good a little too sweet for my own liking, but the rest of us enjoyed it. Restaurant did not look like we expected it to look, but was very clean and welcoming. read more

The food was great. Whitney, our server was super patient and kind! I'd definitely come back.

It used to be good pizza, now it's just salty and mediocre. I'm not sure what happened.

Food was great as usual, but this is the worst service I have received in a while.... Came here with my family (which eating out is a very rare occasion for us, plus we live kind of far so it was supposed to be a treat.) and while the food took a long time to get to us in general, my son's kids cheese pizza took so long to get to our table that we were basically already finished eating by the time we got it. We were going to ask to cancel the order, but our server kept disappearing. We had to flag down a different one just to ask for a to-go box. I'm really sad because we love this place, and the food is great, but not sure it's worth it for the service...maybe just order it to go if you're in the area, but not an option for us... read more

A solid place to go if you're craving a higher end pizza with some unique flavors and combinations! The staff is great and restaurant can host large groups so it's a great place to plan a get together! The price range is a little higher but the food is great! I highly recommend the honey bastard pizza and the Crispy Brussels was a delicious appetizer! read more

Redeemed. Earlier i went to the Deep Ellum Location but was not pleased. I came to the Carrollton location for a friends birthday, and they redeemed themselves. The cocktail was strong and the pizza was soft, and vegan cheesy! This time i asked for extra sauce which was considered. The only negative was that it did take a really long time to get the waiter to come back to take our order, but the wait was worth it! I will come back to this specific location in the future! read more

We ordered a pizza through Door Dash. The pizza was stone cold. Not good at all. It was not crispy.

Food is amazing; service is poor as to how to describe most of downtown Carrollton Texas.

Quaint restaurant with lots of seating and a great atmosphere! I love that one can see their wood-burning oven as soon as they walk in. Cane Rosso has a wonderful selection of pizzas and pasta to choose from. They also have a nice drink menu. I personally recommend the spaghetti with marinara and their sangria! Buon appetito! read more

The best!!!! For apps we got the fried artichokes and the cherry/cheese/bread - I could live on this combination! Also Ordered margherita pizza and pepperoni - the pizza dough is so thin and crispy. My wife and I enjoyed the focaccia. It was soft, delicate and the upgraded ricotta cheese was a treat. The pizza took a while to come to the table. It was a Wednesday night and just a few tables occupied. We weren't sure why it was taking so long. The server apologized so I assume it was a holdup in the kitchen. It was worth the wait. The pepperoni was crispy and the pesto was phenomenal. We added garlic to our pizza and it was an explosion of taste! Overall a great experience but best to visit when you're not in a rush. read more

We stumbled upon this lovely spot in between soccer tourney games. Love the rustic chill vibe, and the food was fabulous. We lucked into a visit from Santa while we were there. They were so gracious to handle our large group spontaneously for lunch, for which I am very grateful. read more

We had a good meal here recently. We sat on the covered patio which was comfortable. The crispy brusselss and cheesy garlic bread were great starters. The pizzas were tasty and the chicken alfredo had great flavor. Service was on the slower side, but they were busy. Long one of my favorite Dallas area pizza places, this location continues to deliver with both excellent food and sparkling service. The atmosphere here is casual, as you might expect. I like to sit at the bar because watching the pizzas being made in the spectacular oven is kind of fun. To be honest, there were a couple of little issues with our order coming out wrong, but the management was quick to make corrections, and as usual, there were no glaring issues. I recommend their Saturday and Sunday brunch menu, some fun items and drink specials. Try the Bloody Mary, it is excellent. read more

Cane Rosso - Half breakfast taco, half monthly special pizza - Wine Bars Near Me - Carrollton, Texas

I've been to the Deep Ellum location when that was the new hotness and the South Lamar location while living in Austin so I was excited to see that Cane Rosso had a location in downtown Carrollton these days as well. I showed up around happy hour time on a Thursday and the place was pretty slow and service was great as a result. I ended up ordering the PBR Pizza (Pepperoni, Brisket, Onions, housemade mozzarella, house bbq sauce -- Hold the candied jalapeños ~$20) and a Barrel aged old fashioned (~$10 with the $2 happy hour discount). The Old fashioned was a bit off and I think they went a little heavy on the bitters so I wouldn't really recommend it but the pizza is about as good as I remember. This is thin 14" Neapolitan style pizza though, so be prepared to fold your slices or eat it with a fork and knife as it won't have the usual structural integrity you are used to with most styles of pizza. Overall my experience at this Cane Rosso was pretty good but I think the other locations I've been to were a bit more memorable with better drinks. Assuming you like the style of pizza, I still think they are serving up one of the more memorable pizzas I've had in the metroplex. Worth checking out if you have never had it for sure. read more

Cane Rosso - PBR (no jalapeños -- ~$20) - Wine Bars Near Me - Carrollton, Texas

Best pizza place in Carrollton. We always get the mozzarella nuggies. The marinara sauce is extremely dippable. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and the honey bastard. This is not your traditional cardboard pizza joint. This is pizza with STRENGTH. Crust, topping ratio, and yum factor is off the charts. Hard to even give a rational comparison or barometer with this kind of high quality pizza game! Best advice I can give is Experience It For Yourself. Huge shout out to Matt. Thank you so very much. read more

This place never disappoints! Staff and food is consistently fantastic! We started with their versions of cheese sticks which were fantastic. Make sure to eat them when they are hot! Salads were great and a must is their Honey Bastard pizza! The right balance of flavors! My little loved the kids cheese pizza and very rare, he enabled it! Sangria is good as well, but try to go next door after to Three Nations Brewery for after dinner fun! All in all...great experience! read more

Tucked away in a corner, Cane Rosso is a great wood fire pizzeria. The art on the wall definitely gives you some laid back vibes and is a little eye candy (think 80s and 90s posters mixed with today's generational poster). Shared the Brussel sprouts appetizer (fantastic dish full of flavors) and split a pizza. The server mentioned that they can split the styles of pizza- roni one and zoli. Both types of pizzas were great. read more

It was my first time go to this location in downtown Carrollton but I knew they'd satisfy my craving for a plant based pizza and my babe's craving for a carnivorous pizza ! We went mid day which was perfect because it happened to be happy hour. Upon entry the restaurant was not busy at all, we were the only ones there which was kind of nice. Their happy hour special offered 2$ off cocktails and discounts on beer and wine. We both had build your own pizzas, which were very delicious. I enjoyed my pizza although I wish the dough was thicker , but I also understand their style of pizza . My babe enjoyed his pizza but his only wish was that they baked it more, but he also understands their baking style. Our server was very nice and helpful. Overall, we had a great meal and will definitely go back to try other items on the menu. read more

Favorite pizza I've had in Dallas. You wan to check it out if you're looking for good pizza. I came with my family and split the Honey Bastard with my brother in law, it has some kick but not super spicy. We started with some focaccia which was fantastic. The salads were good too but I cannot stress they you definitely want to be getting the pizza. Service was excellent with an attentive server who also let us know we should put our order in quickly to beat the web orders but shouldn't have a problem if we were getting pasta. The decor is casual and probably a bit hipster. Shout out to a few of the cool Star Wars art pieces they have having (one is pictured). read more

Cane Rosso is one of my favorite restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. I've been here several times after seeing Cane Rosso featured on the food network's show Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I cant get enough of the Honey Bastard pizza (housemade mozzarella, hot soppressata, bacon marmalade & habanero honey). We stopped in today for happy hour which runs from 3 pm - 6 pm (Monday - Friday). I ordered a Peroni off the tap & the Ella Pizza (hot soppressata, tomato sauce & housemade mozzarella). The pricing is the $9 for your choice of 1 of 3 different pizzas (Margherita, Ella & Emma). The Ella pizza was fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised that the pizza was the same size as the regularly priced pizzas. Can't wait to go back again for happy hour. read more

I really hate to say this but Cane Rosso has become a skip from me. I've been here 3 times and service has been slow whether or not it's busy. Last time we were here, multiple tables including mine waited 20+ minutes to be greeted by their server. I think the hosts could be better trained to ensure they check that the servers have seen that they've been sat. The ambience in the restaurant is weird-- there's no real vibe. The walls have cool art, and you can see the pizza oven and the bar, and there's a patio, which are all cool things, but it falls flat. Eating at Cane Rosso feels empty despite their best efforts. I really enjoyed my lunch special (10-inch pizza and salad), because I feel like that pizza is a good size for their cooking method. Their pizza is cooked at 900 degrees for 90 seconds (so it says on their menu), and the regular size comes out dripping wet in the middle. Like, you will have grease all over you unless you eat this with a fork. And maybe even then. They have a lot of cool options for pizza and lots of different ingredient pairings so I think it's worth a visit, and maybe you'll like their super greasy pizza, but I just feel like you can find a better pie somewhere else. read more
