The waitress was super friendly & gave us great service for our party of nine (four adults, two teens and three littles), however we found Saran Wrap baked in the cheese pizza (size 2-3") that a teenager found, when the Mgr was called over they replaced the pizza, however we were still charged for it until I spoke to the manager who then removed the pizza from the bill, unfortunately the teenager would no longer eat anything for the rest of the meal. Another waitress stopped by the table and asked if she could get us drinks. When she dropped off our drinks, our waitress finally arrived and was obviously upset with the other waitress for acknowledging us before her. She didn't even greet us, she just asked what we wanted to order. We ordered a pizza, which was delish, but before we could order an appetizer, she walked away. My husband also asked her for a straw for our drinks and the pizza came out of the oven before we got our straws. Called 40 minutes before closing to order a pick up. The person on the phone said "because we are under an hour before closing we can not take more to go orders." A restaurants hours of operation are their hours of operation. I could understand if the order was outside a range of time where the restaurant could not produce the order, but this was not the case. I ask if they could make it a little crispy and our server went into great detail about how their dough was water based so it would be very difficult to achieve a crispy crust. So with such thin dough you would think the bottom would have been cooked well!! It was a soggy mess for sure we were all disappointed. My friends mozzarella was not even melted on her pizza!! I havent been to Cane Rosso in at least 10 years. Visited the one in Dallas. Pizza was soggy. 10 years later, same thing. Sauce has no taste and minimal toppings. My advice is to try something else. I have been to other locations and can say I really enjoyed the food. My problem with this location is not the food, it's that 1) when calling in to place an order for pick-up, I was told I would have to give my credit card over the phone (not a chance - they already had my phone #), 2) they stated that if I didn't give a card over the phone that I could come to the restaurant, order in person, and wait the 20-40+ minutes for them to make it, 3) they also suggested ordering online which is irritating and prompts you to apply for a Door Dash membership, and 4) the difficulty in getting anyone on the phone was frustrating. Had a great time at this little place! The indoor area had a fun ambiance with the lights, bar, and music. We ordered 2 pizzas: the Margherita with grilled jalapeños and bacon marmalade, and the Tommy Boy. The 1st had a feisty spice, but the bacon marmalade just brought it together. The Tommy was really tasty with a kale crunch and sweet bechamel sauce. Both had a thin crust which made it easier to dominate until you go to the ends, more chewy. The Moscow mule was good and strong served in the original copper mug. The cheesy bread were thick cuts and had paremesan cheese on it! The little fried nuggz were small bites of cheese with a smooth, zesty tomato sauce. If you get a salad, then split it. They are big enough to share. They can be a little heavy with the dressing, so you might want to ask for a light drizzle instead. Overall, I'd love to come back and try another pizza. Bon appétit! read more

I put in a drink order and the waitress came out halfway through our meal saying she was still waiting on them. We canceled the order and she got an attitude. We started with the spinach dip ($12) and it was so good. one of the favorites I've had before. For our entrees got the chicken fettuccini alfredo($15) and the cbf pizza($17). Much prefer the deep ellum location the food is comparable if you get your whole order and after waiting on it. Our server only put in half our order then came out a half hour later to ask if we still wanted him to put the rest of the order in, the restaurant was at about 3/4 capacity many empty tables. Don't think we'll be returning as my party believes the server wanted to make a comment about her by only serving us one of the two pizza we wanted to try and have left overs of. If you're ok with waiting 20+ minutes to be served a bottled beer and have your server decide what you do and don't get the pleasure of trying, it's the place for you!
