Woohooo another new sugarcane spot! This replaced the Mango Crazy location next to Paesanos. It's pretty nearby the other one by Red Robin but this one stands out since they also offer Vietnamese coffee drinks and smoothies! We came in the afternoon and the spot is nice and bright with a beautiful mural across the wall. You have to walk further in to see the full menu behind the counter, but they do have photos of a lot of their drinks posted by the door which is nice! We wanted to try a variety of things to take advantage of the 20% discount, so we picked a sugarcane juice, milk tea, and coffee. Dragonfruit sugarcane: my favorite of the three! It's so refreshing. Love that they use the crunchy ice! Hanoi egg coffee: my second favorite! The egg cream was delicious and almost had a peanut butter aftertaste. I can't wait to try the other coffee drinks! Oreo brown sugar boba: we ordered the Oreo one but when we got in the car I noticed there was no Oreos so I think they gave me a regular brown sugar one. The flavor is really good on this one but boba isn't as fresh and soft as I'd like! Overall great service and drinks came out really fast considering they just opened! Went here a few times during their 20% off promotion. The first time I went was a week after they opened. There was a line, but they managed it pretty well despite the crowd. I got 1 original sugar cane, 1 kumquat and 1 pineapple to go. They gave me 2 kumquats and 1 original. So I paid extra for pineapple flavor and didn't get it. The drinks were not as sweet and was honestly underwhelming. Tasted like they watered down the sugar cane to stretch it. I wasn't impressed. I came back a week later 2x in one weekend and it tasted a lot better. It was more sweet and the kumquat flavor was more prominent. They thankfully got the order right this time. Service was great and friendly as well. They greet you with a smile and are helpful. I would only check your order before you leave too make sure you have the correct ones. The store is located right next to Paesanos's, so plenty of parking. I should have done my research. The food is leaning more Vietnamese 三色冰and not Chinese style. I would have ordered something else if I knew about that. The cashier is nice and friendly. Service is pretty quick and they pack very well. We've got 2 drinks and 1 "dessert". The special, the original, and mango sago. About half, if not more, of the drink is crushed ice. In a hot summer day, that might make sense. On a freezing cold winter like today, it just felt off. I am unsure if the store can put in a request for less ice, but the level of ice in my drinks is kind of unprecedented. The cane juice has a herbal / grass taste, but given I could see they juice the sugar cane I can only imagine the special flavors came from the plant. It is not the refreshing natural cane juice I was seeking like other stores. The mango sago is advertised as mango tofu, which is accurate. Basically it is not the soft pudding an average restaurant will provide, but tofu texture. There are other jelly in the dish, like coconut, pandan, coffee? (It's brown. We all agreed the brown ones ranked close to the bottom), grass jelly, and green shredded jelly. Some are better than the others. The worst item in the drink is the coconut pieces, which is hard and not fresh. The peanut in the drink was a bit odd. It makes more sense to be in a dessert than a drink. Overall the food was not as good as expected, probably because of user error of having an inaccurate expectations. Price was also high compared to the average price for similar Vietnamese drinks. This place is super cute! I'm glad there's a place like this in elk grove and the location is perfect. We came during their soft opening so their drinks were 20% off! Service was so welcoming! We asked for recs and the sweet lady said the durian cane was pretty good and the kumquat cane. So that's what we ended up getting.. I personally am not a fan of durian (my Fiancé is) but surprisingly enough I kind of liked it! I will say, I would never get it myself because a few sips in I was done haha. This will mark my second time coming here and each time has been a pretty underwhelming experience to say the least. My boyfriend and I ordered a Saigon coffee and Kumuat Cane Juice. The Saigon coffee was nothing special, had a pile of condensed milk at the bottom and the taste of the coffee was overshadowed by the cream. Not really how I like to enjoy my Viet coffee, but some people might like it I guess. As for the Kumquat Cane Juice, my boyfriend was pretty new to sugar cane drinks and wasn't really sure what to expect. He wasn't too keen on the taste, but that could just be attributed to him being unfamiliar with the type of juice in general. As for me, I thought his drink tasted fine. The kumquat's flavor adds a subtle citrus hint to it, but it wasn't as refreshing as other cane juices that I've tried in the past. The service was fast and the place was clean. Maybe next time I'll try the pandan waffle as you can smell it when you walk in the place (smells soo good). The owner extracted the juice from the pressed sugarcane and the drinks tasted really fresh! I love tropical flavors, so the passion fruit one was my favorite. My partner, who is Viet, preferred the kumquat sugarcane, because it tasted more authentic to what he grew up drinking. - Passion dragon fruit tea with lychee (5/5): My dad ordered this, because he prefers his drinks to be less sweet. This worked out perfectly, because Cane Corner allows you to adjust the fruit tea sweetness level to your liking. The pandan waffle was the star of the show because for me the chewy interior texture does it for me. I couldn't help but notice the Vietnamese yogurt in their mini freezer and had to get one also, honeydew and plain and I did like the honeydew much better, typically Vietnamese yogurt is on the sour side in case you didn't know. I've never had Sugar Cane Juice until I tried Cane Corner. I was so excited this place opened near my parents house. I asked for their top recs and ordered them all: Kumquat Sugarcane Juice, Pandan Vietnamese Coffee, and a Pandan Waffle. I got my refreshing juice, caffeine from coffee and satisfied my sweet tooth with the pandan waffle. What more can I ask for? Vietnamese coffee sometimes has a hard taste to it when not properly made, but this balanced perfectly with the pandan sweetness on top. The chewiness from the waffle reminds me of mochi (it might be lol) but if you know me, you know I'm a sucker for mochi so already sold on that; and the kumquat juice has its own unique taste to it that I really enjoyed, especially as my first time even trying anything with that fruit. The service was great as well, they were so helpful and sweet for it being my first time. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other juices! This was well advertised all over instagram, so we just had to give it a try since it's different from boba shops. The drinks were so refreshing. It's sweet, but it's all natural sugar! No added sugar. If you let the ice melt down a little, it can tone down the sweetness. I tried the OG sugar cane one, and my husband had the one with pineapple chunks. It just gave it a sweet and tart bite with every sip of his. I enjoyed the OG very much. These drinks are nice for these hot summer days. The pandan waffle is my new fav dessert.
