Paisa bowl

I stumbled upon this hidden gem about two years ago, and I'm so glad I did. We've visited multiple times--just the two of us and also with friends--and the service is always great and the food consistently delicious. They offer traditional Colombian dishes, all full of flavor. The décor is very cute and welcoming. It's a counter-service spot where you place your order, find a seat, and they bring the food to you. The place is always very clean. We will definitely be back!

Straight to the Point Food. I was looking for cuban food I apparently this is more colombian food. Or maybe its a crossover of tastes ? I dunno. I was looking for a plantain meal. YAY PLANTAINS ! Who loves plantains like I do ? There are quite a few cuban places in Florida as you can imagine... but Floridians LOVE their cuban restaurants... they are actually few and far between in the Central Florida Area. the fact that this restaurant is even IN THE VILLAGES ?????!!!!???? THIS IS INCREDIBLE ! I actually didn't have to travel far to get my favorite latin food and I had the Ropa Veija Bowl that comes with a whole HALF of an AVOCADO and, red beans kinda pureed and plantains ! WoW! Score. This is NOT Chipotle or Pollo Tropical... this is REAL latin food goodness from people who are a small independent operation who actually know what real good authentic and quality food is supposed to taste like. Candelaria ,,,, if I can even spell this... is going to be one of my go-to spots for sure while I'm "interned" here in The Villages.

Pandebono with Guava

Hooray! The Pandebono pastry with guava (think tropical strawberry jam flavor) inside is back! These sweet and slightly salty little Gluten Free pillows from heaven are the perfect comfort food to treat yourself with along with the top shelf Columbian coffee.

Veggie Bowl

Candelaria Eatery has survived its first year and today I brought my vegetarian father to try this delightful Colombian restaurant. He had the veggie bowl and finished the whole thing in 1 sitting (usually does to go with less) but he enjoyed the flavors so much, he kept eating. Hubs did the tropical bowl and I chose loaded papas. Everything was so good. We're so happy to have this unique restaurant in our area so we can keep coming back. A couple next to us were trying them for the 1st time and they were equally impressed with food and service. Try Candelaria and see why so many give it great reviews. Today I noticed that the plastic eating ware is compostable - love the environmental bit.

Food was very good! Rice and beans were my favorite! So flavorful. The fried pork belly (chicharron) were crispy bites of deliciousness! Red beans were so good. Ground beef was good, not great. I had the Paisa Bowl with a fried egg and avocado on the side. Lemonade was not that great, but will choose a different drink next time. Service was very good. Friendly yet a little timid in helping choose an item off the menu, but that's on me. I would like to try everything on the menu. Will definitely be returning. Nice to see a restaurant in Villages with the a Colombian flavor! Ambience was clean, with a small number of tables. Great place!

Restaurant was very cute, only about a dozen tables. Service counter girls were pleasant and food came out promptly. We all enjoyed our food. Bowl dishes (paisa and steak/papas) were hearty portions and very tasty. Spent about $95 for a family of 4. Would recommend for something different than the norm. We will definitely come back!

Patacon Burger with Potato Bun

What a fun find in the Villages! In a place rife with ONLY corporate food, this gem is a locally owned Columbian fusion restaurant! They have Columbian burgers with fried platains for buns, Columbian breakfast, and Columbian pastries! We got the Patacon Burger with Yuca Fries and Calantao de la Casa. For fun we tried the buñuelo and pandebono pastires. The Patacon Burger was incredible: the creaminess of the sour cream and guac matched with a perfectly smashed and grilled patty, contrasted by the cruchiness of the fried platain patties for buns! Calantao de la Casa was a breakfast bowl with sausage, ropa vieja, mixed in Spanish rice and corn salsa, topped with a fried egg. I got the egg over easy of course. Well it's like a breakfast paella. Delight in every bite. The dining room is bright and inviting, though it might be full b/c this is such a great and popular spot! Free parking in the lot. It's a self service deli vibe, though they do bring the food to you. Everyone is friendly, and the owner even came out to greet us! If you're craving authentic latin food and you're staying in the Villages, this is an oasis you need to check out!

Rice, beans, tostones, egg, chicken.

Awesome food & service! This was my first time here. Pretty busy midday on a Sunday (Mother's Day). As such, it took some time to get my meal but it was more than worth the wait. I'll definitely be back and even get take-out.

Delicious food, clean atmosphere and friendly staff. Food made to order. Small seating area but our group of 8 were able to find a table.

I Went here looking for Empanadas after seeing many reviews on FB of good South American cuisine. Cute little restaurant with pleasant ambiance. Located off a busy area on 301. Only ordered the Beef Empanadas to go but in review of their menu a variety of other items are available such as Burgers, Sandwiches, salads and breakfast. The Beef Empanadas were on the smaller size and contained shredded beef instead of the traditional ground beef found in most empanadas. Mild flavor and appears to be made fresh to order as ours were still warm when we arrived home. Empanadas are served with a house salsa also mild in flavor. I would recommend and return wanting to try the other dishes on the menu.

There's a level of familiarity in both the flavors and the experience that's hard to find. I usually order the bandeja paisa, and it's exactly what you'd want from a classic. Generous, flavorful, and true to tradition. It's the kind of dish that brings you back to the roots of Colombian cooking. The beef empanadas are another favorite. Crispy on the outside, packed with flavor on the inside, and consistently satisfying every time. Between the authenticity, the quality, and the consistency, La Antioqueña is a place I keep coming back to.

Our waitress was also very attentive and recommend the frozen mint drink to me, which was different than what I would normally order but refreshing. The World Cup was showing on the TV there so that was nice while we enjoyed our meals. It seems like a great place for dinner and lunch would love to try their breakfast sometime as well. And finally...the Colombian brownie with ice cream was amazing! Definitely want to try more items from the menu. The plantain was a little dry but aside from that positive first impression.

Big Things Come in Small Packages!! I was in town on…read morebusiness and had a craving for Colombian food. Thing is, I had no appetite for a 1-hour drive to Orlando so I took a shot and checked my Yelp for a Colombian restaurant in the area. One appeared and when I arrived, it's a tiny home with 6 tables inside and 4 more outside. We ALMOST made the huge mistake of leaving and I'm so glad we didn't. This 6-topper is a Show Stopper! Cute little place that is extremely well distributed for its size but the true excellence was in the kitchen. I have no idea who was back there but they truly know how to cook Colombian food. But don't just take it from me, I was with a Colombian national from Medellin, Colombia. WOW was this an absolutely great experience! Just what I was craving and a true delight and surprise to the Colombian who was with me. The dishes had authentic flavors. The chicharon (pork belly) had a delightful crunch on the crackling side yet a soft, moist, and flavorful meaty. The morcilla (blood sausage) and chorizo were delicious as well. My company had the traditional beef Sancocho and the flavors were spot on. This location, though not in the tradional "Hot Spot" of Central Florida (ie: Orlando, Kissimmee, Winter Park/Garden) it is by far a wonderful gem. It's worth the drive to try and if you're in the area, don't let this pass you by, you will be happy you stopped in. By the way, if the tables are taken, I'd wait. Until the next time..Enjoy Life - one plate at a time.

Hawaiian pizza was our best option for the day. We weren't too hungry and saw someone eating it as we walked inside. So we had to try it. It's our favorite pizza. As it is for most Colombians! The pizza was good, plenty of pineapple and everything else. Pineapple was very sweet. And it was nice and cheesy I am definitely coming back with the rest of my family, and or friends to try other dishes that looked delicious- like the Parrilla for example. The service was decent. They were busy and so not took some time to figure the sitting and ordering. But once we ordered, the pizza did came out very fast Loved the soccer decor. They're clearly ready for the World Cup or at least I hope so. Nice decor, I definitely takes you back to the city of Bogota if you grew up riding their city bus that was fun for my eyes The place is small with a larger amount of tables. So, it can feel tight when busy. And can only imagine how it would feel if you go there to watch a game. So just be prepared for that. They have a restroom for men and one for women- with a baby changing station

What an incredible gem in Deland!…read more Parva is a delightful restaurant, bar, and bakery right on Woodland Blvd. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent throughout our time here. We arrived early for our reservation and grabbed seats at the bar. We were immediately greeted with a smile and extensive menus! This menu is so vast, it reminded me of the Cheesecake Factory in the best way. There is truly something for everyone here. Carnivores, vegetarians, vegans, you name it. I opted for the vegetarian "Vegetable Bowl" and my husband went for the fajitas after another guest recommended both items. The cilantro sauce and the caramelized plantains were my favorite part of the Vegetable bowl, and my husband loved every bite of his fajitas. Everything was hot, fresh, and it arrived quickly. There are a number of different dining areas here and we loved sitting in the back dining room in a comfy booth. Even though other diners were present, it felt like we had the place to ourselves because the tables are spaced far enough apart that there's plenty of personal space. No need to shout to hear your dining companions. All in all we loved Parva and look forward to coming back on our next trip to Deland.
