Awesome food & service! This was my first time here. Pretty busy midday on a Sunday (Mother's Day). As such, it took some time to get my meal but it was more than worth the wait. I'll definitely be back and even get take-out.

Straight to the Point Food. I was looking for cuban food I apparently this is more colombian food. Or maybe its a crossover of tastes ? I dunno. I was looking for a plantain meal. YAY PLANTAINS ! Who loves plantains like I do ? There are quite a few cuban places in Florida as you can imagine... but Floridians LOVE their cuban restaurants... they are actually few and far between in the Central Florida Area. the fact that this restaurant is even IN THE VILLAGES ?????!!!!???? THIS IS INCREDIBLE ! I actually didn't have to travel far to get my favorite latin food and I had the Ropa Veija Bowl that comes with a whole HALF of an AVOCADO and, red beans kinda pureed and plantains ! WoW! Score. This is NOT Chipotle or Pollo Tropical... this is REAL latin food goodness from people who are a small independent operation who actually know what real good authentic and quality food is supposed to taste like. Candelaria ,,,, if I can even spell this... is going to be one of my go-to spots for sure while I'm "interned" here in The Villages.

Food was very good! Rice and beans were my favorite! So flavorful. The fried pork belly (chicharron) were crispy bites of deliciousness! Red beans were so good. Ground beef was good, not great. I had the Paisa Bowl with a fried egg and avocado on the side. Lemonade was not that great, but will choose a different drink next time. Service was very good. Friendly yet a little timid in helping choose an item off the menu, but that's on me. I would like to try everything on the menu. Will definitely be returning. Nice to see a restaurant in Villages with the a Colombian flavor! Ambience was clean, with a small number of tables. Great place!

    Pandebono with Guava

Hooray! The Pandebono pastry with guava (think tropical strawberry jam flavor) inside is back! These sweet and slightly salty little Gluten Free pillows from heaven are the perfect comfort food to treat yourself with along with the top shelf Columbian coffee.

Candelaria Eatery has survived its first year and today I brought my vegetarian father to try this delightful Colombian restaurant. He had the veggie bowl and finished the whole thing in 1 sitting (usually does to go with less) but he enjoyed the flavors so much, he kept eating. Hubs did the tropical bowl and I chose loaded papas. Everything was so good. We're so happy to have this unique restaurant in our area so we can keep coming back. A couple next to us were trying them for the 1st time and they were equally impressed with food and service. Try Candelaria and see why so many give it great reviews. Today I noticed that the plastic eating ware is compostable - love the environmental bit.

Restaurant was very cute, only about a dozen tables. Service counter girls were pleasant and food came out promptly. We all enjoyed our food. Bowl dishes (paisa and steak/papas) were hearty portions and very tasty. Spent about $95 for a family of 4. Would recommend for something different than the norm. We will definitely come back!

    Patacon Burger with Potato Bun

What a fun find in the Villages! In a place rife with ONLY corporate food, this gem is a locally owned Columbian fusion restaurant! They have Columbian burgers with fried platains for buns, Columbian breakfast, and Columbian pastries! We got the Patacon Burger with Yuca Fries and Calantao de la Casa. For fun we tried the buñuelo and pandebono pastires. The Patacon Burger was incredible: the creaminess of the sour cream and guac matched with a perfectly smashed and grilled patty, contrasted by the cruchiness of the fried platain patties for buns! Calantao de la Casa was a breakfast bowl with sausage, ropa vieja, mixed in Spanish rice and corn salsa, topped with a fried egg. I got the egg over easy of course. Well it's like a breakfast paella. Delight in every bite. The dining room is bright and inviting, though it might be full b/c this is such a great and popular spot! Free parking in the lot. It's a self service deli vibe, though they do bring the food to you. Everyone is friendly, and the owner even came out to greet us! If you're craving authentic latin food and you're staying in the Villages, this is an oasis you need to check out!

This place is a must, Best Colombian food I had so far here in this area. Food was amazing this is my second time here and both time the staff have been super friendly and food never failed. This time we ordered the Paisa Bowl let me just say it was finger licking good. This place is a must if you're around The Villages.

Delicious food, clean atmosphere and friendly staff. Food made to order. Small seating area but our group of 8 were able to find a table.

    This is the place

Really good food, the ambiance what nice, music low, and it's really clean!!! The service was great and it didn't take that much time to get the food, definitely would comeback

There's a level of familiarity in both the flavors and the experience that's hard to find. I usually order the bandeja paisa, and it's exactly what you'd want from a classic. Generous, flavorful, and true to tradition. It's the kind of dish that brings you back to the roots of Colombian cooking. The beef empanadas are another favorite. Crispy on the outside, packed with flavor on the inside, and consistently satisfying every time. Between the authenticity, the quality, and the consistency, La Antioqueña is a place I keep coming back to.

The lunch special ropa vieja was okay, not much sauce and a little dry for my liking. Perhaps this is just the Colombian style of ropa. It came with delicious soup and plantains. We got off the trolley at Stop 20, National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, and were going to walk to the restaurant. Unbeknownst to us, there was no crosswalk to cross the busy Ponce de Leon boulevard. Mom isn't as spry as she once was so we didn't risk crossing without a crosswalk, so we had to walk another 1/4 or so to the nearest crosswalk then doubled back to the restaurant. Located in the The Ponce St. Augustine hotel, the restaurant is just to the left of the main doors. We had to wait a bit to get seated as the lone server had to clean a table first. Service was slow. I ordered the Bistec a Caballo (medium), my wife tried their Pork de Leon with fries and my mom opted for the Inca bowl. Did I say service was slow? Our orders weren't synched up. My order and my wife's sandwich were served first and we had to wait a few minutes before my mom's dish was served. My wife liked her sandwich and fries although she thought the shredded pork was a bit dry. My mom liked the flavors of her dish, with tender cuts of meat and smoky soy sauce flavor. The Bistec a Caballo had decent flavors BUT that steak was tough, even ordered medium. I felt like I was cutting through shoe leather cutting it with the serrated knife. Slow service and a tough steak bumped our rating down. We just couldn't overlook the quality and/or preparation of my steak, even with good flavors. Lunch for 3 came out to just over $67 with tip. Oh yeah, they add a surcharge for credit card payments.
