Great new edition to the Sawgrass Grove Marketplace in The Villages. It's in the old Show Kitchen spot and is a FMK restaurant. It's a bowl/wrap concept with a Mediterranean twist. When i went, the line was about 30 people long, but it was opening day. It moved pretty fast. You have the option of a base - lentils, jasmine rice, romaine or power greens. Then you pick your protein - chicken shawarma, lamb gyro meat, another type of lamb or shrimp. You have the option of doing double meat or mixing proteins (I had shrimp and chicken). Once you do that, you pick your toppings and crunch - things like pickles onions, edamame, crispy chick peas, sunflower seeds, roasted beets, feta cheese, etc. They also have dips such as tzatziki and avocado hummus. Then you select your dressing. They also have 2 types of pita wraps - chicken shawarma and lamb gyro. If you get a drink - they give you the cup and you can refill at your leisure. I got a bowl the day I went and it was delicious. I had chicken and shrimp on mine, roasted beets, feta, avocado hummus, feta, pickled onions, crispy chick peas and Greek dressing. Sooooo good - I had to stop myself from going back the next day, but I will be back soon. The icing on the cake???? It's so affordable - Bowls are $8.95 and if you get shrimp, it's $9.95. There is plenty of seating inside the market area and you can also go outside for plenty of outdoor seating. Live music goes on at Sawgrass Grove every night from 5-9pm and there is a bar inside the marketplace and one outside. So grab a drink, a bowl and go out and listen to music while you eat. Fun night out with friends or family.

Soft opening today. Wow delicious and so much options for a great meal. Incredible low price for a bowl of freshness. Excellent service and great food. Gyro is delicious and the power blend perfect.

Amazing place!!!! This was our first time going to a Turkish restaurant as a family...and it is…read moresafe to say we are hooked. In fact, before the end of our trip we went back to get some more dips. They were that good. We went here for dinner on a Sunday evening and it was pretty quiet, there were a few people but not a ton. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and it was nice out so we sat outside. That being said, you should at least pop your head inside, the decor is beautiful! For 4 people we ordered the mixed appetizer, lavos, 1 spinach pide, and 1 mozz pide. We also got 2 salgams and they split it into 4 cups for us. This was far too much food for us, all of us overate. Honestly I think we were fine with just the mixed appetizer and the lavos. That being said, know the portions are LARGE. The mozz pide itself needed pepper flakes (which they had so we added) or some sauce or something. It's kinda like cheesy bread, I don't think I'd get it again. The spinach pide however was so good! We got it with the feta cheese and it was so soft and fresh. The mixed appetizer was SO good and I highly recommend it, especially if you're in the bind we were (couldnt decide what dip to get). Theres 5 dips that come in it- Ezme, hummus, tabouli, baba ganoush and cacik. The ezme was my personal favorite- so full of flavor. The garlic really made it pop! The hummus was also really good, definitely one of the best ones I've had! Very creamy and fluffy. The tabouli honestly wasn't super memorable. Not that it was bad- it was good, but compared to the others it just...lacked. The baba ganoush was AMAZING! I've never had one like it before and I liked it so much that I'm attempting to recreate it at home. The baba ganoush is a must try. The cacik was also really good but it's not a thick dip, you could almost just use it as a drizzle. Overall I'd recommend checking out Istanbul grill. The food is phenomenal!

So this is what I'll call an interesting experience as it just came to completely that!…read more Coming here my friends wanted pizza and I'm like from a Greek restaurant sure why not so the pizza we did get while it was decent it wasn't the best it had a unique crunchy kinda crust but the whole pizza lacked flavor and the much needed boost for it we found to be the Greek dressing as that was super good my friends wanted had gotten a salad and said the dressing was awesome so we started putting it on the pizza and that right there made it sooo much better in a unique kinda way! Their fried zucchini was pretty bad frozen and just not something I can be happy to say that I ordered as I make this all the time at home and yeah this one just didn't measure up! Overall this is a very dated restaurant with a local following which I can see is what's keeping them going put it this way nothing I had here would make me wanna come back but who knows maybe their Greek food is where it's at!

It's always a good choice to combine with a Village Salad. They name it Horiatiki Salad. Full Horiatiki is a very generous size and easy to be shared between two people. Avgolemono soup is also always a great choice. It's a typical eatery setup, simple and homey.
