Lakis' Moussaka. It's delicious and made on site.

Everything was perfect; the food, atmosphere, ambiance and service. I use to dine at the old location before leaving Ocala, the food is still just as delicious as it used to be to be when Bruno ran the kitchen. When my family travels through Ocala, we make a point to schedule our trip so we can dine at Lakis as we pass thru town. Give this restaurant a try, you will not regret it. Taste the moussaka, cheese pie and Spinach pie, which are scrumptious and the Greek Salad is divine with Lakis Greek dressing that is made on site using an old family recipe.

We love the food here. Everything is so good and fresh. Definitely tastes like home. The place is older nothing fancy but don't let that fool you. Portions are large and staff is friendly. Can't wait to go back.

After attempting to go to two different new eateries (one newly opened but oddly closed and one not open yet) we decided to hit Lakis Greek Resturant for date night. We were quickly seated and our drink orders taken. Within 15 minutes our dinners were served: Tour of Greece and Athenian Pasta. We also ordered some hummus and pita. We don't visit often enough, to be very honest. The food was awesome. The pasta was perfectly light with the spinach, mushrooms, broccoli and feta cheese. The tour of Greece was very tasty, but the lamb was absolutely PERFECT. We were so full we had to pass on the baklava and baklava cheesecake, but usually it's delicious. Caitlyn took great care of us.

Had such a fantastically delicious adventure for the tastebuds at Lakis! How have I been to Ocala a 100 times and never been here until now?!? Well, now it's a must for every return trip. My husband and I enjoyed absolutely everything we had and kept saying it was the best Greek we've had - you can tell there is care in the recipes and preparation. The service was friendly and restaurant was clean with great Greek murals on the walls, too. I highly recommend that you get the spinach pies, Greek potatoes and dolmades when you go - the best flavors to them. Really look forward to going back to try more of their offerings.

Really excellent Greek and Italian food in a pleasant environment. Shout out to the spanakopita and Gyros. Meals come with a side, a salad, and bread.

Good food. Attentive service. Kitschy but clean interior. Was super busy when we arrived but were seated right away. Drinks soon after. The dolmades are vegetarian and were well packed. The spanikopita was tasty albeit a bit greasy but flavorful. Half of the pita was hard and crunchy and the other was soft but all was well seasoned and tasty. The tzatziki was thick and tasty yet lacking cucumber. My husband had the lasagna. No complaints. Affordable good food. Unpretentious and authentic. We'd go back.

We often get the octopus appetizer because it is tender. It is fresh and it is perfectly balanced. Octopus is a dish that requires quite a bit of finesse and preparing and Santorini? They do it very well! Most all of their dishes are prepared in the traditional Greek way, which we adore every time we dine there it transports us to the Greek Isles. This dining gem is not to be missed when you're in DeLand.

Had drinks right away. The young waiter was awesome with suggestions for an appetizer we chose Saganaki which was delicious especially if you love cheese. Along pita bread with their yummy dip that they give you prior to your meal. Nice warm pitas. The meal came out amazingly! I got the Gyro plate. That was very fresh with herbs, not dry. I choose this because I thought it would be less messier than having the actual Gyro, but it was totally worth the mess and I'm a big eater, I even had leftovers as my family members with me both had their meals (pictured) & thought they were large portions & very tasty. They enjoyed their meals & want to meet here again. If you're in the Deland area just enjoying a stroll or shopping on Woodland Boulevard & you're looking to have lunch or early dinner I would highly recommend this place. The staff is just amazing. Every staff member worked together & I watched as the manager walked around making sure everything was going smoothly and efficiently. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and how fresh the food was. This is definitely a place I'm going to return to in the near future. Please support this amazing Greek restaurant You will not be disappointed..

When we walked in the door there were no customers but a couple of employees at the counter putting together orders. We walked up to the counter to browse the menu. We could tell there must have been some large orders come in as the employees seemed very busy working with their backs to us. Apparently so busy that they didn't think to say, "Hi", or "Welcome in!"- literally said nothing to us. I asked my wife loud enough for the workers to hear, "Are we ready to order? and she replied "Yes" for them loud enough to hear. Still, that wasn't enough to get the workers to stop what they were doing to help us with our orders, so we walked over to the self-serve kiosk to get our orders in. We considered dining in but weren't sure how long it would take, so we ordered as Take out to be on the safe side. I clicked the button for a printed receipt but couldn't figure out where it printed after I did that. We decided to go sit down. At this point we had been there about 10 minutes with zero acknowledgement from the employees working. I've worked in the service industry before (and continue to do so in a corporate environment), so I understand what a rush is like but I also understand that you're to make customers/clients feel welcome and heard- neither of which we felt at The (Not) Great Greek Mediterranean Grill. As we waited, other customers were coming in. Seemed like some regulars and others didn't seem to have as much trouble getting the employees to communicate with them. Another 10 mins or so go by and I started to notice about 4 different people receiving their orders who had come in after us, so I went to the counter to ask the status on ours. The female employee seemed irritated that my question pulled her away from what she was doing but she looked up our orders anyway. Said ours would be up in a few mins, so I said thanks and I let her know that I clicked "Print receipt" on the kiosk but wasn't sure where I was supposed to get it. She pointed to where it was supposed to come out but it wasn't there and shrugged. I said ok, and sat back down with my wife to wait for our food. At this point, I was irritated with the service and didn't want to dine in anymore. We got our food and left. I received a text to share my experience, and I shared what I'm writing here with the restaurant mgr or owner. I received a text back that they were sorry that my wife and I didn't feel welcomed or acknowledged during our visit. The mgr or owner mentioned it was disappointing that the kiosk and service didn't meet our expectations. They did say they appreciated the feedback, so they could improve and would love the chance to provide better care that we deserve in the future. Maybe I'm being too critical/out of line but if that was my business, I would offer a free lunch or something of value to try and make it right. I let them know that too. We go to restaurants for good food, good service, and good people. When someone has a bad experience, I'd be doing whatever I could to earn that business back. This is not a place we are planning on going back to.
