Just a disclaimer, I'm not usually crazy about Asian buffets. But I came here since I was craving for some asian food in Spokane and this place was close by. I did not have high expectations. I saw they have a sushi bar and was hoping that would hit my asian food cravings. But boy was I wrong. The sushi bar is super limited with some 5 pieces of salmon and 5 pieces of tuna nigiri, but once they're out... I think they're out for a while.. the rest of the "rolls" were barely edible containing mostly rice and huge pieces of cream cheese and not much else. Grabbed a little dish for soy sauce and it was dirty with whatever the previous person used it for. Disgusting The rest of the heated dishes were not that good either. Food was lukewarm, OILY, bland and just borderline inedible. I've probably spent most of my timee walking around trying to find something to eat, but couldn't. Best thing here was probably the ice cream. I came here hungry and craving for Asian foood and this place DID NOT hit the spot. We arrived 30 minutes after opening and you would think the food would be hot but it was all luke warm, tasted old amd or frozen and seriously just lacked flavor. STOP!!! For those who know me and follow my reviews, you know I will not give a negative review unless it is deserved. OMG, this is not the worst Buffet I have ever been to but it is close. Food is blaaaah, no seasoning, no flavor, no wow, and very greasy. I could not eat the food due to the bad or no flavor. The Hot & Sour soup it disgusting absolutely no flavor and taste like glue. "and yes I have taste glue before" You will love the receipt it says you should "tip" your server 10 to 15% for what? You do not have a server it is a buffet you are the server. You get up go get your own food and bring it back to your table, ok give yourself a tip. The Bathroom (mens) disgusting, the place just opened for the day and there was paper towel all over the floor and there is no way the floor had been cleaned any time soon. It smelled horribly and could use some bleach. I left after trying to choke down a few items, I had to leave and hit the Organic Juice place a few blocks away to relieve the bad taste in my mouth. Best buffet in town, always friendly service and great food.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The best part of the meal was the glass of water. I wish I was joking. We went for lunch on a Sunday. The food was old, dry, and barely edible. We had to coach each other to get it down. We left feeling like we spent $40 (for 2 people) to feel nauseous and thoroughly disappointed. But at least we got our daily hydration in. We both drank 3 glasses of water to get the taste out of our mouths. We've been to plenty of buffets but this one was by far the worst we have ever found. Nothing even comes close to being this bad. As for the atmosphere, well, it felt like we were at church, complete with the gospel music. We did do some praying while we were eating. We prayed the food would stay down and we wouldn't have to taste it for a second time. I could enter heaven happy if I knew I saved 1 person from visiting this place. This is the first visit here in over a year. Damn virus. Always remember the best time to go to a buffet is when it's busy. They were busy at 1pm on Sat. All food we ate was fresh and tasty. Salads were crispy good and the chicken wings were crispy and hot. Every entrée dish I had was fresh and hot. We didn't do the Mongolian grill this time but will on our next visit. We found everything to be clean and comfy. They have added an Oriental food store that is well stocked with fresh veggies and many frozen items. It is not the best place to eat in Spokane. I come from a town with a smaller city about 30 minutes away and this way better than the buffet thats there. I kind of expected it to be bad simply from my main experience back home. I'm a Chinese buffet fanatic and I've tried a good few restaurants around the area. I think black jack is preferably the best. It's super nice inside, the staff is kind though sometimes understaffed, but they take care of you. It gets pretty pricey at dinnertime but as with most chinese buffets, it's at dinner when they serve more seafood. They have a sushi bar and a Mongolian grill which is super. The last couple times I've gone though the sushi bar wasnt manned by anyone an the sushi was just covered in plastic wrap and left for the taking... I wasn't interested in their selection but once they actually put some effort into it it's good. It's not the fake, nasty stuff you see elsewhere with the crappy rice. I've never tried the Mongolian grill there mainly because I eat too much of the other stuff to feel the need to but I've always wanted to at some point. As with the sushi bar sometimes there's no one there and it may take a while before they notice you standing there waiting. But overall I love this place and like it a lot better than other Chinese buffets in the area! read more

Solidly middle of the road Chinese Buffet. A massive amount of edible food-product swimming in sauce and dying on steam tables. Most of the food is "ok" with a few head-scratchingly terrible abberations. The hot and sour soup isn't sour! It was probably the 2nd worst buffet hot and sour soup I've ever had, close behind the place in Salt Lake City that just added hot water when the soup got low. Other food tended to be mushy and over-sauced, or simply dried out. They do have sushi options, so kudos for that, as well as a few dim sum offerings though I'd avoid the BBQ pork buns. They have hard ice cream which is welcome. The freezer temp is set so it's not rock hard, and a hot water well keeps the scoops scoopin' like a charm. Frankly, the food is probably 2-stars but the atmosphere is pretty nice and they've got a koi pond up front. Also, not many other good options in this relatively small burg. The interior decorating is very Jesusy. I shouldn't have been surprised given the name... still, the abundance of trite Christian aphorisms in the Chinese buffet context is a little weird IMO. read more

Very well priced for the lunch. A great variety of food. Mostly Chinese and Japanese food. And a few others tossed in. I would steer clear of the cooked rice is tasted a bit off. But everything else was well maintained. The sushi was not of the best quality and you can certainly find better sushi at other resturants. I would plan on just having the hot food if you came here.You pay before you go get food. The interior is beautifully decorated with a fountain. I was beyond impressed with this buffet! We always go in expecting to get over cooked food that is bland and that was not the case here. There is so much variety and while I may not have tried it all everything I did try was so good. There is a great salad bar, a great selection of deserts and they have sushi. It was not the best sushi I have ever had but was way better then any I have had at a buffet. The restaurant was beautiful and clean, while we were there I seen several employees out cleaning tables and the buffet bar. The restrooms were also very nice and clean! All of the staff was very welcoming and super nice. Service was fast, our cups were never empty. As far as pricing it was pretty average, we went for a late lunch so it was way cheaper then going in for dinner and like I say in all of my reviews we are a family of 6 so price is always important to us. My mother in law has been going through cancer treatment and we brought her here to see if she would eat something. With the selection she ate an entire plate of food and she loved it all. We usually go to Pearl buffet whenever we want Chinese food but my husband wanted to give this place a try. First though, it looked pretty good. Had good variety of food. But I wish food tasted as good as it looked. Some dishes either was too salty or just bland. They tried to had some Americans food as well. The recipes said there would carbs but saw no carb at all. There was crawfish though, but sadly overcooked and tasted like rubber. I think they should stick to Chinese food since it's a Chinese buffet instead of trying so hard to have every different food but none was good. Service was decent. read more

Super disappointed in this place. Came here the day before for some takeout was good food. Then we brought our big family in & had about 15 people for a dine in Buffet and we went in a little over 2 hrs before closing time & everything was almost empty. I spoke to the lady about it after her other customers left to not make her look bad but she didn't care she said "why didn't we let her know earlier & she could've had the kitchen make more food but the whole time we were there they didn't make anything new. She said she couldn't do anything for me. She didn't even want to give us a discount for next time or give me some money back for their shitty service & food. Food was dry & cold !! If I was Leaving this review for Panda Express' food they left out all night and forgot about it would have been better tasting than canaan's, unsure how they are in business maybe they are trying their best to attract Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmare's series. I prepared all day for a buffet that day, but was very disappointed, save your time and money and go to moon's mongolian grill if you want asian all you can eat. For a family of 6 one would think going to a buffet it would be easier and let my teen boys and husband have the ability to satisfy their appetite. First of all each plate is $16.99 plus a drink for $2.49 both are pretty high for a buffet. Still thinking maybe the food would be worth it. Shoot there was a "sushi" option and Mongolian grill. Took a stroll around and saw some choices, they even had pizza and Mac and cheese which one of my daughters tried and rated the Mac a -5. And she isn't a picky eater. (I'm thinking why go to a Chinese restaurant and get pizza and Mac? But whatever). Let's talk sushi, it tasted like the rice was made yesterday and undercooked (crunchy) the sauce used I think was orange colored miracle whip. The main entrees were flavorless and mushy. Out of the food I would say stick with the veg spring rolls and the ice cream. Not worth the $130 we spent. The money they should spend on is a new cook. Stop looking at the koi pond and look toward the kitchen and food choices flavor. Save yourself the money and don't go. Please don't waist your money. I decided to eat here a few weeks ago. It was about 1230pm (lunch time) why was I charged dinner prices? When I walked in there was a "pond" inside. It was very unsanitary. If they can't keep it clean then just get rid of it. The food was not appetizing at all. I had a lot of Asian food and this was not it. To make matters worse they have a grocery store in the restaurant. I knew I should've have immediately walked out but I figure give it a try. So hole in the wall places are actually good.... Not this one. If you want to save money and eat well this is not the place to go to. After I ate I had an upset stomach for a few days. DONT WASTE YOIR MONEY!!!! Never going back again. Saw a cockroach climb across the ice cream freezer. We were so grossed out, we left right away and didn't even finish our meal. ETA: The owner sent messages basically calling me a liar because I didn't report a cockroach when I saw it because I was so horrified. Said they watched security tapes..as if you would see them on a security tape and my visit was MONTHS ago. She said it doesn't accurately reflect their business for me to say that. All-in-all I'd say this is pretty standard Asian food, buffet/Panda Express style with some added cold and other hot food choices. A large family/group is going to get you your money's worth in that regard. The sushi is just bad. I was expecting 'meh' quality sushi, like you can find at some grocery stores. A few rolls were just that, but the nigiri was spit out quality and the salmon, cucumber, cream cheese couldn't even taste the salmon. The eel was dry, tough, and old. Just avoid at all cost. Our biggest problem having dinner here, however, wasn't the food. It was actually the other patrons, specifically the children. It sounded and reminded me of a Las Vegas casino meets a Chuck-e-Cheeses. Between the noise, yelling, shouting, screaming, running around, and every child on a Smartphone or Tablet with the sound not just on w/out headphones but very loud so each little one could clearly hear and enjoy the game of choice. The empty booth behind us was even converted into a video game station for 4-6 young kids fighting over the various devices and/or game. All while the 'parents' and staff ignoring and even encouraging. The place was clean and the staff friendly. It just isn't our cup of tea, food, or environment. read more

The only reason why I starred this 5 is to get your stupid attention. This place is not only disgusting but very very disturbing with how they treat the customers. Let me just start..... I went there about two weeks ago and got three boxes of takeout one for my partner and one for me, then there was one full of desserts. So there was three to go boxes altogether it came out to be about $27 which was OK. How it works is you weigh your to go boxes at the end and price your food by how much it weighs. I paid with my card and went along my day. It is now two weeks after and I received a phone call from whoever works there. I don't know who they are they did not give me their name and they proceeded to tell me that they got my number from my card that I paid with , told me that I left a mess on the table even though I got take out,And they proceeded to tell me that I got way too much food at an all you can eat buffet insinuating that I am FAT. Oh and don't let me forget that they literally banned me from their restaurant for life for absolutely no reason.... please fucking explain this... how do you get my number from my card. This is the most messed up scary most disturbing fucked thing I've ever fucking heard. PS when I went in there for the food it looked like all the food had been sitting out all day long. read more

Absolutely awful. Went for lunch and won't be back. Most of the food they had out was obviously old. They threw some peanuts on top of the Kung Pao to make it look fresh. Took one bite and spit it into my napkin. I just hope I don't get sick from eating there and I am not even joking. I am amazed how all the reviews are either 1 Star or 5 Star. I came in an hour before closing time. I walked in and there was no hostess I stood around looking, there were definitely tables still. I looked towards the restaurant, a blond girl looked back at me and rolled her eyes as she walked to the front. She was giving me attitude in the front as well , I guess she felt annoyed I showed up late. I asked politely what time does this place close. No answer. I was seated and went to eat.
