Huckleberry margarita with our bartender in the background..

We love this place. The smell when you walk through the door takes you home to nights at the campfire. We sat at the bar where our bartender, Casey did a fabulous job making me a spectacular Huckleberry margarita on the rocks.. My husband ordered 3 crown Apple mules (delicious he said) and we got the Riblet dinner to share. The riblets and ribs in the past have always been wonderful and we love their original sauce. The honey butter on the cornbread was Devine.. The buffet looked very tempting but we were not that hungry. We just wanted to come in for a little taste and a drink. And for $24 all you can eat ribs on Wednesday night sounds like a future date. We like doing takeout from this place as well. Ordering one of the family meals to take home and enjoy!. Coleslaw is always enjoyed by the family. It might not be like a traditional Southern barbecue, but it is dang tasty.

Good food, good barbecue. I order take out when I am in town and the service has been good overall. Not every time, but usually they are patient and helpful determining what to order and share opinions on what their favorite sides are. The waiting area is decent and the wait is usually not long. Ambiance is good, not too loud. Good portions for the price and I have not had a bad meal here. Good place to grab some food, that will likely not disappoint.

It's a classic in Spokane. The sauce is sold in grocery stores. The restaurant is very casual cafe style. Love this classic bbq place

It's been years since I've gone to Longhorn, and they didn't disappoint. Excellent buffet and the waitress was attentive to details.

If you want a good barbecue, this is not the place. The brisket was extremely dry. The sides were ordinary.

Much better! When I called the phone number to verify that they were indeed outside the location they posted, there was no answer on the phone. As we were heading out the door to take our chances, co-owner Tom called me back via his caller ID to see if he could help me out, and he verified that I was going to the right location, but he also asked about my need for ribs, on which he was running uncommonly low. He double-checked his quantity and called me again, and was very happy to set those remaining aside for me until I arrived. Not only was Tom very friendly in person, he offered us samples on all the items we were interested in, and when it came down to the baked beans, he felt like they had cooked too long and gave us some at no cost. Some of the family liked the chicken thighs best, some liked the pulled pork best, and I liked the beef brisket best, although the ribs were the first to be polished off--something for everyone! The beans and coleslaw were also good on the side, although I would like the option for some mac and cheese, corn bread or potato salad. By the end of the evening, I was already thinking about trying to find out where they would be the next day! Toby's BBQ and Tom were a big highlight of my family reunion/vacation in Spokane, and I look forward to coming back and tracking these guys down!

The Mad Cow Reviewer…read more Well, color me udderly impressed! I wandered into McKracken's Irish Pub in Spokane Valley after a long day chewing cud and was greeted with the warmest "moo" of hospitality I've felt in ages. The owner clearly knows how to make everyone--two-legged or four-hooved--feel right at home. Let's start with the Guinness--cold, creamy, and poured with care. It's enough to make a bull tear up with joy (and that's saying something). The Irish stew? Hearty, rich, and packed with flavor. The cornbread is the real surprise--soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for soaking up the last bits of stew. Whoever's in that kitchen deserves a medal--or at least a salt lick of appreciation. They've got WiFi, so you can update your herd on your dining adventures, and the regulars add to that cozy, small-town pub vibe. Karaoke on Fridays is a real treat too--nothing like hearing a few pints in patrons belt out "Don't Stop Believin'" while I hum along in low, soulful moos. All in all, McKracken's is the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, loosen your bell, and stay awhile. Great food, cold beer, friendly faces--what more could a mad cow ask for? -- The Mad Cow Reviewer

Our server was very busy, handling both the bar and restaurant areas. We all started with appetizers, which we shared. Fried green beans were good, kind of spendy. The onion rings were great and the tarter they came with was nice. The mozzarella sticks were good, the marinara was cold and chunky. For meals, two of us went with their Irish Stew, salad, and absolutely delicious cornbread. Our other friend tried their Burnt End sandwich. She said it was really good. What I really wanted was BBQ turkey, which is on their online menu but not on the menu in the restaurant. It was a good experience and we'll definitely give them another try in the future.
