The restaurant has tons of tables, high ceilings and super spacious. The service is okay, the staff keeps to themselves not overly welcoming or outgoing. Usually, I see the staff sitting in a booth or not at all (in the kitchen or back of house). The food is good! My husband and I get the all you can eat bowls. We've been to this restaurant about 5 times. The server always brings out a rice bowl with water. The rice is super old and cold. There are lots of veggie and meat options. The sauces are watered down, so double up if you don't want dry noodles. You go up to the buffet line and grab whatever bowl size you want. You pick the meats, veggies and noodles. One of my usual stops when in Spokane is at Mongolian BBQ. For one, it's close to the airport, so I'll either grab a meal when I arrive or when I leave. Another, it's affordable! And I am a sucker for Mongolian BBQ. It's about being able to customize your meal! I mean, really, if you don't like what you got, that's all on you! You pick out your bowl size, it ranges from Little Kahn to Barbarian Kahn and all you can eat. The "buffet" area is lined with noodles, assorted vegatables, assorted meats, other condiments, and at the end you decide what sauces you want in your bowl. They do have guidelines, but it's really all about what you want. Then you drop your bowl and they cook it on a huge cast iron grill. I don't opt for the AYCE option, since I don't think I make it worth it. It's a popular place for the military, as it's close to Fairchild AFB and I believe they also give a military discount. read more

So have had an excellent experience at Jasmine Mongolian grill. Unfortunately because of that my review of this place is going to be a little more harsh. There is a big assortment of vegetables. There is a wide variety to change up your stir fry options. For Seafood it is a little lacking. All they had was imitation crab meat. Beef, Chicken and Pork was available. The sauces are watered down. Honestly. That is not unusual. Most Mongolian places water down the sauces. What is strange is the cooking process. After selecting my sauces. The food is placed on the grill. Then the cook proceeded to fill the same bowl full of water and pour it right onto my stir fry mix. They push the food around the grill with a wood baton. Once it made one rotation of the wok. They poured it out. The vegetables were not done. So more firm. Last of all. Because they put so much water. The flavor is bland. I am also used to longer cooking. A little crisp of the noodles and vegetables. I feel they do this to avoid the harder work of grill cleaning. Most of the grill places I am used to will burn a small bit of the food. There is some sticking. And they have to scrape the grill. The way it is cooked here. No scraping is necessary. I chose the all you can eat. So second round I doubled up the sauces. That was a bit better. Third bowl I just asked him not to pour water on the stir fry. The third bowl is by far the best. The noodles were darker and absorbed more of the sauce mixture. Because everything wasn't floating in water. The vegetables were cooked better. Last thing that is a little different is the pricing. All you can eat is actually cheaper than the barbarian price. But you can't take it home. My daughter chose the bowl option because she thought it would be cheaper. Better to just do all you can eat and don't plan on taking anything with you. We walked away a little disappointed. But I think it might be OK for some if you can get used to their cooking method. read more

Waitstaff was seriously under manned, luckily you create your own dish. If you like this kinda thing you will love this place. I typically screw up the sauces and mess up all the flavors and end up with a bowl of all the wrong ingredients that just fall flat. So for me, this is not my go to. Went with folks from work and every one left generally happy with the food. If you like Mongolian food, you will like it.. The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 star is because the food was great! It was our very first time here, walked in & wasn't greeted just asked if we are taking out or eating in...walked us to the table & took drink orders. I mentioned we haven't been here before & the woman stared at me lol so my husband & I decided to walk around and see what this place was about. We eventually figured it out and the ACYE was cheaper than the barbarian cool yet it was 9.95 for my 3 year old and the bowl was super small. We made our bowls and went over to the sauces and cooks...went back to the table and the server sat a few tables away on her phone for about 25 mins before coming back to us. She didn't check on us she literally dropped off the bill and immediately turned around I had to stop her and ask for refills and rice bowls (which are free w ACYE) when I asked for rice she stared at me for about 10 secs as if she didn't know what I was talking about. We didn't feel welcomed here AT ALL! All employees including the cooks were on their phones IN THE DINING AREA! Very unprofessional, and if you work in this industry checking on your tables is a part of your job. The food was really good tho. I love Mongolian BBQ! My wife does too! We were so excited to take our kids here, and they weren't impressed! I thought the idea of them choosing all their ingredients, making their own sauce, and watching it all get cooked would toot their scooter. It didn't! Then you go to the sauce bar and get to choose your poison. Sweet, sour, teriyaki, spicy, etc... but you make your own sauces with like 25 base ingredients to choose from. From the time we walked in, we were warmly greeted and waited on. The dining room was very clean and our food was cooked promptly. My cook was also very nice. The food bar items looked impeccable. The reason for a 4....the "extra" no-no signs were a bit of a bummer--no, don't stack your food too high in such and such bowl, and although I did not see it, there was a sign saying not to put any oils on food after it was cooked. I didn't put enough on my food because the recipe was way too far over to read and not in big enough writing to even read it without glasses. Otherwise, our service was excellent! Usually an okay experience, but not terribly affordable for a large family at dinner time. Hadn't been here in a few years, and I will say that their offerings/sauces were more robust than before. Nice to see lamb and tofu as options for protein. Vegs were all fresh, and the chefs did a fine saute job on our bowls as you would expect them to. But....make sure you know which bowl you need to grab. The 1-time option bowls are right by the AYCE bowls. They'll let you know if you grabbed the wrong one, and that can be a little off-putting when scolded in front of others--with a demonstrative language barrier. My shaking head thinks: what the heck difference does it make on what bowl I use when I have paid for AYCE? Regardless of that strict edict, the kiddos love mongrills, and I can put up with a visit once a year. This was a Birthday dinner, and specifically chosen by the happy gal. I was charged for a large bowl instead of a medium. When I told the server, she told me it is because they have a "3 inch" above the top of the bowl rule. Basically, you can't push down on food or stack food to overflowing in the bowl, neither of which I did. I told her my food wasn't overflowing but she insisted the chef said it was. I told her that wasn't true but paid the large bowl price anyway. She was apologetic but that doesn't change the issue. I'm normally very generous with my Google reviews and this is, I believe, the first time I've done a one star review. If I could do zero stars, it would certainly be that. When a place calls themselves "The Original" anything, they are setting themselves up! Don't you think? I mean to be Original you have to have invented something or be new with a concept or idea. I highly doubt they invented or were the first Mongolian BBQ in Spokane or even in Washington State or even North America. I asked the owner, why do you call yourself the original Mongolian BBQ but she politely skirted the issue and just smiled. The place is located in a strip mall and is clean well lighted and new (less than 6 months old - big clue there). There is a nice painting on the wall of a Mongolian Camp with yurts and horses. I honestly felt like Genghis Khan would jump off the wall. But wait that is the Original Genghis Khan not the Spokane version. Just teasing there. The food was not that good. Oh the ingredients were good, but the cook was hurried and sped through the process. My egg noodles were limp and none flavored, the plate was gritty and not well mixed. They also have this one pass thing, where you buy a bowl and that's it. You can up size to All You Can Eat but to UP SIZE you must DOWN SIZE the bowl. Hence you really end up paying more and eating less. I know I'm confused. Overall - not a good place or representation of Mongolian BBQ and certainly NOT THE ORIGINAL MONGOLIAN BBQ. By the way = it doesn't say Original on the sign outside, it's only on the menu. It must have cost them extra on the signage so they skipped it. read more

Here's the deal yes they're strict about the limits of how much you can put in your bowl before they cook it up.(meaning you can't have it falling out of your damn bowl) BUT you get to select whatever kind of meat you want, how much you want, variety of meat if you're feelin fancy and then you get to move on top the veggies and starches. For me I'm like a kid in a candy store wanting everything while drooling. They have a great selections of meats, veggies and starches so you don't really have anything to complain about unless you're someone that always has something to complain about then I don't know what to tell you other than maybe stay home? ‍ #oopsdidisaythat Then if that selection of stuff doesn't overwhelm you then you have like 10 different sauces you can choose from with all sorts of different flavors. Once you're all happy they cook it up right in front of you, hand over the goods and you're on your way to a food baby! I put all the sauces that they recommended and when I took the first bite. Nothing, tasteless. I added salt, soy, Sriracha, everything to make it taste better but it was pointless. The beef was tough witch I assume it has to do with the type of cut they use because it couldn't have been overcooked (since is cooked for a min or so) My point of view is they need to use better noodles and beef; work on their sauces(ex: the garlic, use actual garlic not the sauce that they pickled the garlic with) and when is time to cook, cook it with a soy and water so it steams and ease the cooking and adds flavor. read more

Called early today to have a few tables set aside for my birthday dinner and we were turned away because my mother in law brought her emotional therapy dog. While I definitely understand there policy on this, and even agree with it. I don't understand why my reservation was cancelled because of that.. No flavor to it. rice was still a bit hard. food is just horrible. the staff was very nice though and quick. My husband and I added a lot of sauce to it in order to ensure that we would get a nice taste and heat to our noodles and meat but then we were horribly disappointed to find out that our food was heavily watered down by the cook. We watched as he took our plates, poured them onto the cooking station, and filled our bowls back with water and dumped it on our plates. my food had not flavor to it, it was disgusting same went with my husband. It's not that Mongolian BBQ is such a bad place to eat, but compared to Hu Hot, it's not really a great place either. It's clean for the most part. The hostess and servers out front are usually friendly. The grill cooks however seem almost angry. They certainly don't seem happy to be there. They also tend to water down the already limited sauces that are available when cooking your dish on the grill. They have a punch card. After 10 purchases at Mongolian BBQ, you get a free dinner. However, you don't find out until you order that it's only for the Kahn, even though to obtain this complimentary dish, you have been paying the most expensive price for the all you can eat. Not a great deal concidering you're paying all along for the most expensive dish. After 10 punches, you should get the most expensive dish. You don't. You get the one time through, which would be okay if you were paying towards that the entire time. I would go to HuHot if I were you. Better food, better atmosphere, better prices! read more

It's just like every other Mongolian BBQ out there......or maybe a little less. Nothing special about it. The atmosphere is incredibly dull. It wasn't warm and inviting like you want a restaurant to be. The food selection was average compared to other Mongolian BBQs. I will give the wait staff some props because they were on top of the service. But it was also very empty when we went in, so maybe they were bored? So if you're craving Mongolian BBQ, and you need a quick fix, then this will do just fine. Just don't expect anything special. read more
