As a beginner getting into the game, this course is definitely a great start! Milton and the marshals on the 1st tee were very friendly and great about giving me the lowdown about the course. It's also super nice being near the water. The greens are nicely maintained, however some parts do have heavy muddy depths, nothing that would be too messy but you'll get your shoes grassy wet! I would 100% come again!! $21 + $5 push cart fee. Didn't think it was too steep! Finished in about 1hr 30mis.

The course was updated recently and is in great shape. It's not long but there's enough there for a good golfer and those that are learning.

Not a bad course to practice on. However the place doesn't accept credit cards in 2019. Who carry's cash?

Ask the Community - Campus Commons Golf Course

Did they close? They're coned off. I know a levy project was threatening the course, but did it finally happen?

Campus Commons Golf Course, owned and managed by the Golf Division of Regional Parks, is temporarily closed through Dec. 31, 2023, while erosion protection measures are put in place along the American River.

It's well taken care of, you can walk on almost any time and since it's a 9 hole course it's super cheap.

One of my lifelong passions is golf-from the moment I picked up a club when I was 17 years old,I…read moreknew an obsession was being born.Along the way,I've had good highs and good lows, like the time I quit the sport for 10 years because I played a round so terrible at the Ridge in Auburn,I lost 18 balls in one round, but that being said I always come back.Im the kind of guy who will go to the driving range 10 times between actually playing a round, practice makes perfect or whatever they say,so I decided I would write a few reviews of some of my favorite driving ranges-I'm starting my series with one driving range that I probably frequent the most or 2nd most,it's one convenient to my home-I'm talking about Leader Golf on El Centro Road in Natomas. Right off the bat-you got to know this place is not fancy-this is the kind of place the serves that golfer who is just beginning-the kind of person who maybe has thought about golf and wants to give it a shot-this is where they head. This driving range is truly a no judgement zone,so many beginners,so many people there who this may be the 1st time they ever held a golf club-I love that about this place, you never know who your going to see here,it can be someone like me who has been playing golf for over 30 years or literally a kid or teenager or woman's group or older person who has never touched a club before-your going to see all types of people, every age, every skill level and it's great. This place has zero dress code-not that all golf course do but some places you can really standout if u show up in gym shorts and a tank top-but not here-anything goes and nobody will give u a 2nd look if u have no clue what your doing. The place has a few cool features that I enjoy-it has a putting area so you can go out there and work on your putting at zero cost.It has a very good short game area where one can work on their short game but it does cost $7 an hour to get access to that area. This place does have ample parking so that should never be a problem, there is a pro shop on premises as well-Inside your able to buy range tokens which you use to get range balls to use on the range.Prices range from $7 for a small bucket(40 balls) to $24 for a "Leader" bucket which is 200 balls. What I do is buy the Leader bucket for $24 and they give you 5 tokens for 40 balls each and then I spread out their usage over multiple visits since 40 balls is more than enough for a driving range session, which brings the cost down to under $5 a bucket-a very very good price for a small bucket. The pro shop also sells beers and sodas and snacks along with just about any other golf accessory you could possibly need from driving range tees to full on brand new golf sets-it's a decent shop-gets the job done. The gentleman who owns the range also works the shop-he is an amazingly kind man,he is a little rough around the edges when you first meet him but once you get to know him,he is the best-super helpful and chatty-he is truly an asset to this location. Overall what I will say about this place is this-if you have ever had the idea that maybe you have an interest in golf and want to go to a judgement free spot where you can try it out-this is your place. If you want a no frills spot to go and work on your game-this is your place. If you want a spot you and your friends can meet and chill and maybe throw back a beer or two while doing something somewhat active-this is your place. So do yourself a favor and head on out to Leader Golf and give this amazing game a chance-it just might start a lifelong obsession-see ya out there. My kids come here to play baseball and always have a great time. There is plenty of space for families, walking, and letting the kids run around. Just as with furry children, human ones also have tons of energy that must be let out. So instead of having them cooped up, I'd will myself to take them to the park even when I'm bone tired after a long week of work. William Land Park is THE best place to help kids burn off energy so they can simmer down and sleep well after they have all the fun. It's really not a bad thing, I don't want to sound like I'm begrudged to take my kids out to play, but you know how sometimes you just want to veg out at home after work and esp on weekends? Yup. But my wife's always right that it's better to just suck it up and take the littles out and let me run wild than to fight the inevitable and try to keep them occupied at home. So we make the trek and we're never disappointed, even when parking can be challenging (hint: don't go at peak times on the weekend, esp Saturday mid morning to early afternoon). With all that said, WLP is really a great place. It's huge, first of all, with a big free playground on the North West side of the park, then of course there's the Sacramento Zoo which is just the most iconic place in Land Park. Then for littles there's Fairy Tale Town which was really a hit with my kids when they were younger. And when they got older and wanted more excitement, Funderland was the place to be for several years with all the roller coaster and other amusement park rides that were good enough for their age when they still got the thrill of being up and down and thrown around on a coaster or a spinning tea cup or a rocking pirate ship. And it helps that both places are pretty affordable for a fun day out. What's impressive about Land Park though, is that there's something for everyone in this 166.5 acres regional park. I looked up some stats and it features 23 picnic areas, 2 softball fields, 1 lighted Little League field, 3 baseball fields, 2 bantam soccer fields, 1 full-sized soccer field, 1 basketball court, adventure play area (the free playground), tot play area with free wading pool (in the same area as the playground), an indoor community facility, several restrooms, several ponds, a 3.4 mile jogging trail, the Ampitheater, fee-based pony rides, and 5 garden areas including the WPA Rock Garden, 3 groves, 2 parking lots, the well loved Golf course, the Sac Zoo which my kids really loved as kids, Fairytale Town and Funderland as mentioned above. In fact, for awhile I was playing volleyball here every Saturday, it must've been a couple of years from spring through fall and even over the winter if the weather was good and the grass wasn't soggy/ground wasn't muddy from rain. I had a great time playing vball with young'uns half my age as well as those who were quite a few years older than me and yet were so fit they literally kept me on my toes. There were definitely some talented folks on the vball courts and it was all volunteer organized and free to join and play. I might have to go back to it before I'm totally out of commission. All in all, William Land Park is very unique and truly is one of Sacramento's most historic and special places. We drive by often, but don't go there enough, and really need to get out and get some fresh air and exercise on the beautiful grounds of this local gem.

It's a bit tough to get a reservation so you need to plan four months in advance as that's when reservations open up. If you do that, the likelihood of you getting a spot is pretty good, even on a weekend. The food is to die for with multiple courses that changes monthly. Just note that the food is usually paired with a rich sauce but they do check with you prior to your reservation date about any dietary restrictions. My favorite for the spring menu were the steak tartar and oysters served multiple ways. The chefs and staff are engaging and do their job well...my napkin was always folded when I returned if I left my seat. Service was excellent. I did notice that portions seem to be smaller than what they used to be but you won't leave hungry since you can order as much as you want. Also, there's a charge for every beverage, even coffee...they could have been more up front about this as I recall it used to be included. I can't wait to go back.

We were in time to experience...appropriately enough, Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party'. It starts with a Prelude of small-bite snacks. Which is an understatement, since there was quite an array of snacks. Our favorites were the Spring Rolls and the Cheese Empanadas. Following was Act I with Butter "Bathed" Alaskan Halibut and "Handkerchief" Pasta. Continuing with an Intermission of a variety of Oysters and different sauces. Then it was Act II with Fines Herbes "Gnudi" and Spiced Butter Basted Lamb Loin. Finally, concluding with "Chloe" as dessert, along with an array of other desserts. Needless to say, all the dishes were delicious, my favorite was the Alaskan Halibut. All the desserts were great as well, but that might be my biased sweet tooth. The Miscellaneous The Kitchen is one of the more unique restaurants I've dined at. With its open kitchen concept, it reminds me of Omakase and, by contrast, of my college dining hall. The restaurant can house many guests, and it took a bit of time to seat everyone. The staff were professional and courteous, guiding the guests throughout the dining experience. The chefs were enthusiastic and encouraged everyone to explore the restaurant. All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience. The only nitpick I have is probably the transparency of their drinks. But otherwise, would definitely recommend the unique dining experience.
