So this is my neighborhood park-we have many parks in North Natomas but this is the one closest to my house.I truly do love this park-I remember when I 1st moved to the area and went on my 1st walk there,I was very happy with the long pathways available for my fellow walkers. This place was truly a life saver when we were all forced to work from home during the pandemic-I think I spend all my breaks and lunches every work day just walking that park-it's a great park-let's break it down.
This park has a relatively small parking lot-on weekends, when kids have soccer games or baseball games it can get pretty full and usually overflows into the street-but most days it's pretty easy to get a parking spot.
This park features some basic features and a few unique ones-It has 3 baseball fields-a volleyball field-soccer field-2 children's play areas-has a pretty popular Skaters Park area and has both a large and Small dog park areas-pretty cool features.
This park also features multiple walk pathways that when done in their entirety can take walkers anywhere from 20-60 minutes to walk depending on their route-This is my favorite part of the park-love the walkways.
Probably the most unique item at this park is the 9 Hole Disc Golf course it features-no hole is over 200 feet-so it's pretty perfect for beginner and casual players-as an avid traditional golfer I've never played disc golf but on weekends I do notice this course does draw some players.
One bathroom-This is a pretty large park and they only have one bathroom-located near the parking lot area so if you find yourself on the other side of the park and need the facilities-your in a bit of trouble I'd imagine.
Back to walking paths-I asked my wife how safe she felt walking there alone since before she got way into Pilates, she would walk this park daily. She indicated as a woman walking alone in this park she always has felt safe, there are always a lot of people at this parking walking their dogs or riding their bikes-she always felt extremely safe.
Speaking of dogs,I have noticed in the back of the park where it really opens up,I do see more than a few people let their dogs run off leash, which as an avid dog lover i understand fully but as someone who has a wife who is fearful of all dogs, even tiny little Yorkies,I can understand how it can be a problem-especially when this park has a built in solution .
This park features both a large and small dog park-huge areas where dogs can run off-leash and pose no issues for walkers-I love this part of the park because it allows me to see so many dogs from my community and watch em run and jump and play with each others-it's a great feature of this park.
Now as a Day 1 Pokemon Go player,I do tend to look at parks in a slightly different lens and let me tell you this park is a great spot for Pokemon Go play.It features 6 gyms, around 15 pokestops, multiple gameplay routes and tons of spawns-this is an excellent place to play to either fill up your bag with balls and potions or use em all up on the overwhelming amount of spawns-great place to play some Pokemon Go in my opinion.
This park also features a rentable picnic/party area as well-I often drive by the park and see parties happening here on weekends or see jump houses setup for parties-seems like a popular place for parties when the weather permits it of course.
In closing-In my option this park is a great addition to the Regency Park community of North Natomas and I'm so happy it exists-if your ever in the area, come on down and check it out-it's great in so many ways. read more
