Went today to look at toy haulers. Nice man met us and took us out back. Pointed to back of lot 150 yards or so to look at toy haulers. We walked all the way back only to find half locked up. He said he would also leave front gate open for us to look at toy haulers. We gay back to front and walk in gate only to find all the Rv's locked too. We complained to the other sales guys since ours was MIA and they said that they always lock the ones in front. Nobody offered to unlock. Gotta be the laziest sales people I have ever dealt with. Surprised at all the negative reviews, seems they are doing a lot to improve. We could not be more pleased with our experience at Camping World of Mesa. We bought a travel trailer from Jake Edwards who was absolutely amazing to work with. Jake was kind, patient, and not pushy at all. He understands customer service and the importance of building a relationship with his customers. He also did an excellent job of under promising and over delivering like having repairs done by our pickup date. He even checked in to see if we needed anything and congratulate us during our walk-through. He also checked in with us to make sure the tow home went okay and let us know he's there for us if we need anything else. I wish I could remember his name but the gentleman who did the walk through was very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching us how to use our new rig. I have to give a HUGE shoutout to him and the service department for fitting us in for a sway bar install last minute. They told me we would have to schedule it and we would have to come back in 3-4 days for pick-up, but as soon as they saw the excitement of picking up my new rig leave my face, they sprung into action. "Let us see what we can do..." they not only fit us in immediately but had it done in 40 minutes! Then there was George in the store, oh my goodness, we fell in love with George! I might go back to shop just so I can say hi to him! Not only was he so friendly and pleasant but he just seemed the most knowledgeable about the products we would need and why. I would just say he deserves a major raise because while I saw other employees sitting around with seemingly nothing to do, George was running around helping everyone in the store like he was The Flash! He's hoping over to help at the checkout counter, he's doing a walk through the store with me, he's answering my questions and questions from other employees through his headset simultaneously and still maintaining just the most pleasant demeanor and attitude! Camping world has lots of RV items which is great, though everything is a bit high in price. However, when I go in the staff is consistently not helpful. I just went in and was looking for an item, went over to the customer service desk to ask for help and the employee was asleep. I thought she was looking at her phone with her head down and didn't realize that she was asleep. I started speaking to her and it startled her and woke her up. Ok, that's not my problem but then her attitude was that I was annoying her by asking for help. Other workers in the store also seem a bit put-out by being asked for help-consistently. We all have bad days but at least pretending to be helpful to a customer is my minimum expectation. If this were a one time occurrence, I wouldn't write the review. We were heading to a funeral with our entire family in the RV and had no operable ac in the summer. The company does not care and their employees care even less-if that is possible. I called and asked if they had a silicone lubricant in stock. They said yes so I drove 30min to get it. When I arrived they did not have what they said they did. It took 20min to track down an employee to "help" me. The employee had no product knowledge so I went to a competitor right across the street. They had the product and knowledge . I was a new RV buyer. Purchased a 2022 Heartland Pioneer SS171 22 foot travel trailer. Worst investment in my life. I got two camping trips before the slide out stopped working. Two drawers in the kitchen area just fell out on the first trip because stoppers were never installed. The fresh water inlet would just burp the water out and would not fill the tank even with a special hose attachment. The AC didn't work and was actually replaced twice. The locks on the outside storage did not lock. The couch pull out has wood chips all over from using it as a bed (2 times). Two pantry doors laminate peeled up in the first 4 months. Took it in for all these warranty repairs and it took Canping World 7 months to fix all the defective parts. I have to say this new Heartland camper was poorly made with aweful quality control. Camping world of Mesa stores your new RV on a dirt lot. They tried to give me my RV back super dirty didn't even recognize it. This was my first RV purchase and I left some food in the freezer, they never charged the battery in the 7 months and maggots appeared in the frigerator and desteoyed it. I had no idea since this was my first RV, they should inform buyers especially new buyers that they should remove any food items since they make no attempt to charge batteries during service. They are charging me 2k to replace the new refrigerator with a small 150 dollar discount. I would stay away from Heartland brands and Camping world of Mesa. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced after buying a new 30k vehicle. read more

I used to come here for all my rv supplies. I didn't come for the prices, they weren't that great. I came because I could get my rv parts and supplies for my outdoor hobbies in one convenient friendly place. However the last time I went in they had closed off the entire sporting goods section. The cashier told me the owner was removing the whole department because he was cowering to the pressure of the ignorant left. As owner he has every right to do this. I also have the right to never go back and recommend that no one else does either. I was only here for some parts... no service and not new purchase. I have to say that I wish they had a much bigger selection. I can tell this location is strictly focused on new sales and not on previous customers. You want a pump faucet??? You get one and the only one on the shelf. Top $. You want a table mount?? One possibility and none in stock. Better luck on amazon. Ordered the same day and it arrived the same day. Unfortunately, no one around to help you or ask if you need any help at all either- too focused on new sales to service the needs of previous customers. Remember this is you buy a new camper from them... no family orientation, no camping community, just an "if we don't have it, try amazon" attitude. And amazon is less $$. Yesterday I had to return my motorhome the Service Department to have a new awning install error corrected. When I called Nat I was sure I would be pushed out for more than a month. That did not happen, Nate was apologetic and scheduled an appointment within 3 days. The error was quickly resolved and me, well I am a Happy Camper again. They have had our travel trailer since mid November. We almost didn't get things in our warranty covered because by the time (2 months later) they got it all ready our warranty was almost up. Stop blaming covid, at this point everyone there has had it a couple of times. Don't blame lack of employees, pay them a fair wage cause that's not my problem. We are paying for a service, and if you can't hold up your end, you're not in the service game. Finish it! It's been 3 freaking months and you still have it! I am a FIRST TIME BUYER of a Motorhome/RV and the Sales person was great. Absolutely wonderful. Even when we bought we received our $50 gift card and the cashier was great trying to find us on the computer MORE Discounts then already listed. The internal side is horrible. From the time I chose my RV and going thru MY OWN BANK was like a turn off for them. I have USAA. USAA said they would have a check to them in 1 day for the RV and the Manager saying "well we can't guarantee it without a Deposit" even through I said the check will be there tomorrow and email from the Bank showing it. I said "oh well if it isn't". Almost too pushy. I have had my Motorhome for MORE THAN 30 days and have yet to receive any DMV paperwork and my paper plates are expired so No road trips for me which I did have one planned. Plus I am receiving letters from my bank on the Title and paperwork they haven't received. THANKS CAMPING WORLD.. I have emailed and called and left 3 messages with 3 different people and NO ONE calling me back. Finally on my 4th attempt i talked to a finance manager who said "I'll walk it back and personally see what is happening. I'll call you back". 3hrs later NO call back and I had to call them back and left a message. Also emailed returned saying "I am with guests, I'll you in a hour". NO PHONE CALL BACK. This isn't their first Rodeo. All i can say is AZ is the RV capital of the US. Shop around. Others would love to have your business. STILL WAITING ON WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PLATES!!!!!!! I would give 0 today, if it was possible! First took a Honda generator in for a warranty issue. They told us to wait at a particular computer station for the service person (there were other employees at the counter) after 15 minute wait, we asked if anyone was coming to that station, and were told that one of the guys sitting at the counter could help us (happened to be the service manager--he didn't see us standing there for 15 minutes??)!! Then we were told there was no fix, take it home. Funny, the paperwork we received from Honda says don't use until we take it in to be repaired???? We also looked for two items in their ad....didn't have any and didn't know when they would get any in. This place sucks!! STAY FAR AWAY!! Bought a brand new toy hauler from this location. Fridge hasn't worked from day one. Took me 8 weeks to get it into the shop and then took them another 12 to fix it!! The advisor was impossible to get ahold of. I picked the trailer up and I'm told I'll have to figure out if the fridge works or not cause they didn't turn it on. They lost the keys, trashed the inside, and drained the batteries. I've spent 3 weeks trying to speak to a supervisor and nothing. This. Place. Sucks. STAY AWAY!! I have already reached out to corporate and nobody has responded to me for 3 weeks and counting. I purchased a 2018 Dutchman Atlas, I had some damage from another trailer and took it back to the dealer. It was approximately 7 weeks for repair that supposedly with Good Sam, I should have had back in 3 at the longest. If you love being sent to voice mail when you wish to speak to someone.... This is the place. I picked my trailer up and got it home, 35 miles, opened it up went in, closet door laying on the floor.... The screws holding it on we're no longer them 1/4 inch..... Very shoddy for a $34,000.00 trailer. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! My salesman has quit so now I get the voicemail run-around.... The only way I have found any satisfaction is haul my ass back down to Mesa and speak to someone personally, can't hide and ignore you if you are there. Think twice, and do a through and through inspection before you buy!!!! read more

I visited this place once for an FFL transfer when it was Gander RV. I had a good experience. When it became Camping World, I tried to have another FFL transfer over there. The place that was transferring needed Camping World's FFL info emailed to them. So I called and spoke with a guy last named Ellis. I told him about the situation and he told me to give them his email so they can message him. So I did. And they did email him as I was CC'd. Ellis never replied to them. I tried to follow up with Ellis via email as well and never heard anything back. So I called again and spoke to a guy last named Steffen. He told me to have them email him for info. So they did. They did not hear anything back from Steffen either. I again tried to follow up and heard nothing back. I understand that transfers are free there. But if they didn't want to do the transfer they could have just said no. It would have been no problem. read more

All of these reviews are true. Do not overlook!!!! My husband and I didn't bother to read any reviews because we needed the repairs done regardless. I highly recommended you do not give them your business. Once they have your business, their service department is too busy to answer or return calls in the summer. If you do get someone on the phone, they will ONLY pass off your order to the original agent that was helping you. If that person is out on vacation or "swamped" at the moment, then you are forced to wait for that person to come around to your case. We had our toy hauler in their shop for 5 months to simply replace our front door. Terrible. read more

Very disappointing service dept. Service writer not knowledgable at all of work that was done and what details were done in paid for services. My rv was in for several months for warranty work and paid for slide maintenance. Was told that parts were changed and repaired that were not. I had to point out that what I was being told was incorrect. Eventually got correct work done after waiting another month but did not get my slides adjusted as I was told would happen. Different service writer told me that adjustment is not done during maintenance but I could make another appt for that. Communication is slow to respond and when asking questions, no reaponse was even given. I would strongly suggest somewhere else for your main requirements. When picking up the trailer, the porter needed to reinstall my Anderson coupling on the king pin that they had removed. He did not even have the right tools to do this and nothing was torqued as required. read more

Spend $55k on new camper, take it out for the first time and AC doesn't work properly. Bring it back after trip leave it for two days only to be told it works fine. Okay maybe debris or something got in it and now it is all good. Take it back out camping (5 hours away.) AC unit vents and electrical box fell out of unit while driving. Oh and Camping World didn't put back our order power cord. So in the middle of no big cities at 7pm on a Friday day to find out we can't get power. Have to pay a 24 hour repair guy to come deliver one for $950. After several calls and waiting 4 weeks finally got a check for the error. Moving on get the call that parts are in for warranty work. Bring the unit back as scheduled, explained I need it back within 2 months for a scheduled trip. Provided a detailed list via text, handwritten, and walked through all of it. Tried to call to verify pickup three times before specified date only to avoided and finally told can't pick up until the following week. Get the call the following week it is ready, that they parked it under the canopy to charge since we were leaving that same day. Husband goes to pickup, took 2 hours because the self leveling system wasn't working, AC was not working, battery dead. Hmmm... really! Finally get it all working, except the battery. Get told it is because it wasn't charging. No wrong it won't hold a charge. Go to set up and can't because battery is dead. Go through the list of other things they were supposed to fix. Didn't even do 20% of them. What work was done could have been done better by my teenager. Going back camping this weekend so I brought the dead battery back to exchange since our trailer is less then a year old. Am told that they will need to keep it for 24 hours to be sure it really is dead. Then am questioned if I knew how to properly maintain a battery. Yes I am! Completely unprofessional. Parts Dept finally replaces battery. Go through and talk to service about being told our unit should have come with 2 batteries. Asked sales rep as well. Both confirmed yes it should have had two batteries since it has solar, power jacks, and two large slide outs. Ask for the second battery, get told oh wait no you have to buy it. GM finally comes over and tells me that instead of two 24 batteries they put on one 27. Umm I am not a battery expert but I feel like one 27 is not the same power as two 24. Fine accept that apparently I only should of had one even though I was told two. Realize the battery they did exchange isn't the exact same quality yes same size it is a 27 but not as large for cold crank and capacity minutes. Request to be give an equivalent battery. GM agrees so I get the other battery from my truck and he disappears. I explain to the woman that gave me that battery I have been waiting to get the equivalent and I just spoke to Brian Peters (GM) about it. She explains to me that she will not exchange it for the equivalent because that is a $400 battery but I could pay the difference. Or I could take my old battery back and bring it to Autozone since that is were Camping World bought it from. Excuse me I bought my trailer from Camping World why should I have to go back to where they purchased the battery. She explains to me she will not exchange the battery for the other. I try to find Brian again and instead of coming out to talk to me he chooses to avoid me and answering his phone. I will NEVER go back into this business for anything! Congrats Camping World you did it again! You sold me the unit but you have FOREVER lost me as a customer. FYI before you respond with send us an email. I would like you to CC me on the email you send to the GM questioning why he treated me in such an unprofessional and inconsiderate manner. Contact Brian he will be able to look up my information. After three hours total today I am done! I am not holding my breath that anything will be done! Just like nothing has been done correctly since made our purchase. read more

I said Thank you and she just hangs up Also everytime we go in at the back service desk they are also rude and not much help. I was lured there after talking with a sales person about a specific 5th wheel. after my nearly 3 hour drive, they tell me the 5th wheel I'm interested in is actually damaged. They never told me that before hand, even though they had it on the lot for 30 days. They even wanted me to commit to the purchase before seeing it. Thankfully I'm not an idiot. In fact, I was told by a sales manager that they intentionally leave that very important info off the website so they can get us to come in. The 5th wheel is worth half its price yet they still plan on selling it at retail when it's damaged!! Id estimate several thousand in damages plus however long it takes to get repaired. They are just waiting for the right sucker to come along. Very poor sales and business ethics! Shouldn't be allowed nor tolerated by camping world. If they bought the rig damaged, they need to eat the cost, not pawn it off to a customer! So sad!! Terrible experience and would never recommend them if they were the last business on earth. One star only because I can't give no stars. Customer service is terrible. Do not purchase any equipment that requires maintenance or service where the equipment is sent to a 3rd party. There's no documentation or paper trail on what work actually gets completed. We had a Honda generator that was less than a year old, which we stored with a cover, returned to us looking like it had been dragged behind a truck. Camping World employees couldn't tell us if all the work requested had actually been completed. We've been customers for several years and decided our dollars will be spent elsewhere from now on. read more
