We paid cash for a camper on 8/28/22 with an extended warranty. As of this date, 9/23/22 we have had nothing but trouble. Our black tank leaks, the air conditioner doesn't work, our toilet leaks, the cabinet doors are falling apart all within the first 26 days. Plus a lot more little things. We don't get call backs and are generally ignored. We've even gone to corporate and get the same response. Now today they are hanging up on us and won't even continue our phone calls. This was my first visit to Camping World on 11/1/2020 and I don't think I will go back. There were no associates around when I needed to find a product that they had in the store (website said they had them). I ended up going with a different item and when I was checking out the associate Deuce (sp?) (trans. #3815) was extremely rude when I told him 2 times I did not want the protection plan for an item. The third time he asked I said no again and he said "well I sell it all the time" If I tell you no , you need to listen and move on. He is extremely unprofessional and needs more training in customer service/respect. This store also is allowing people in without wearing a mask, there were multiple shoppers without masks. He offered less than 25% of the market value of the coach and said that was the best he could do because there is no demand for our unit. Camping World will not stand by the extended service plan that they recommended we purchase for our 2016 Class A Hurricane RV with 8,000 miles. We are now looking at $6,900 in repairs that they refuse to cover. We are looking at having to replace all of the furniture in the RV due to the fabric flaking. The sales person recommended that we purchase the extended service plan to protect us from this happening as they were aware of the potential for thisbtoMaking it worse, they now refuse to talk with us or answer our calls or emails regarding the subject. Terrible customer service! UPDATE: Was contacted by Camping World general Manager who informed me that they would not stand behind the extended service plan that they sold us and they were not responsible for the plan provider not following through on repairs. 0/10 recommend sales guy, Jacob. Everything seems nice and promising when you are picking out your RV until they brush over service items not being completed by time of pick up. Including wrong keys!!! Jacob gave many false promises and when I tried contacting him he decided to no longer respond. Seemed like either he wasn't making other departments aware or they were not communicating. RVs are a big purchase and the customer should feel confident their purchase will be what's promised. Especially when extra warranty was added. I am going on almost 2 months of having the RV and just now able to reach service department. Negligence. On August 4, 2020, Camping World Katy, TX recommended and installed a product onto our brand new, never driven off the lot RV. We explained to them our exact need to haul 4 bikes on the back of the RV on our first trip which was to begin that evening. They stated that the "Ultra-Fab Universal Receiver" is something their staff has used on the back of trailers to haul bikes for years. We requested that they confirm this with their service department to ensure the receivers capability to carry 4 bikes safely at the back of the RV. An hour and half of deliberation, we were told this is the best option and it was installed. We left for our week-long trip to Arkansas that evening with two sleeping children and our 4 bikes in tow at the rear of the RV. Everything seemed to travel to our destination without issue. En route back to Houston on the following Tuesday, August 11, just outside of Dallas, we were flagged down by two drivers on either side of us on I-35 pointing at the rear of the RV. We abruptly pulled over onto the side of the interstate to find that our Kuat bike rack holding our 4 bikes had been dragging on the concrete and the receiver that was holding it was completely shredded. The U-Bolts holding it onto our brand new bumper shredded, the bumper damaged, and our $1200 Kuat NV 2.0 rack was literally smoking from being dragged on the concrete. We brought the RV back to Camping World on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 for issues outside of the rack. It was not finished when we needed it for our trip, and minor repairs were still needed. We told the staff about our incident, and asked them for the paperwork that was to come with the receiver that was not given to us in the box when we paid for it. Carolyn, the Manager on Duty at the time, opened a new Ultra-Fab Universal Receiver box and read the paperwork with us that clearly states the product should not be used for bike racks. Carolyn then issued us a store credit to cover the cost of the receiver and installation totaling $146.65. The total should have been $169.23, but that is the least of our concerns. We asked that the Sales Manager, Jacalyn Maupin contact us for the damages caused to our $1200 bike rack and were told she would contact us by Thursday, August 13. On Friday, August 14, when we had not heard from Jacalyn yet, we reached out to Camping World. Jacalyn and Carolyn were on the call. Jacalyn confirmed that she has used this receiver for her "bike racks on her RV's for 20 years". We explained what happened and asked for help replacing the parts to our damaged bike rack that we then dragged down I-35 for the Camping World dangerous recommendation and installation of a product that is clearly not made to be used with a bike rack. She refused to help any further and told us to contact the manufacturer of the receiver from the info on our receipt. She then questioned what I meant by dangerous, "was someone on the bicycle when it broke?". I clearly explained the danger of having a bike rack and 4 bikes dragging behind an RV on the interstate could be if we hadn't have been flagged down and it then broke completely off. The understanding and limited knowledge that the staff at Camping World have is less than acceptable when making huge installations and recommendations for literal tons of moving instruments in the path of other people, vehicles, buildings, etc. Taking no responsibility is also unacceptable. They need to be trained and warned of the damaged that could have been caused and was caused due to their lack of experience and knowledge of the product they are irresponsibly and negligently selling and installing. We purchased an RV 2 months ago. They sold us an RV with a defective fridge and won't repair it. We called for JJ who is the GM and he ignore our calls. They sent a repair guy who messed up our circuit board and we have been waiting for weeks to hear back from JJ. Everytime we call he is in a meeting or just stepped out. Every day he steps out. We want our fridge repaired and an electrician by to repair the circuit board that your service men destroyed!!! I will call everyday and write a review every day until I get a call back. This is unprofessional. I pay over 1K a month for an RV without a working fridge or our mattress. This is crazy! read more

However, they answer their phone like Hillary Clinton during Benghazi. I needed a new roof, electronic jacks (from blow outs), some side trimming from the blow out, A/C front a rear fixed, and rear ladder fixed and small extras. 7 months later I got my trailer. And what got fixed? Front a rear electronic jacks (not the middle) and that's it. Roof looked like a high school kid had his way with a paint roller. Granted they did good on the trimming. Front AC don't work at all, rear AC had a broken fan and motor, BTW WHICH WASNT THE PROBLEM TO BEGIN WITH. Light fixtures broken. Dear Camping World, less than 48 hours after driving off the lot with my new RV, I discovered that Exterior / Environmental (Paint) Protection was added to my contract without my request, inquiry, and knowledge about the plan. Although Jacob in finance informed me that surfaces were protected, he did not inform me that a $2K price tag would accompany what was in fact a protection plan. The conversation on the subject was very matter-of-fact and limited to "If, for example, you find that the exterior caulking is cracked, bring in the RV and the Service Department will fix the issue." No additional seals/sealants/protectors/coatings were added to any surface of the RV at my request - in fact, it was made clear to me that I was purchasing the RV "as is", without dealership warranty (but with limited manufacturer's warranty) - so, adding a warranty fee on a "product" that either 1. doesn't exist or 2. was already included, is egregious. Adding this fee to my contract is equivalent to adding a fee for tires, when they are already included as part of the RV. I do not trust the person I spoke to, but I am not familiar with your hierarchy. I kindly request someone reach out to me to help me cancel the plan and correct my agreement. read more

We went to camping world to look at a 2023 Class A Thor Vegas 24.3 model and the unit was nice and Murph the sales consultant was really good, patient and very well informed. The reason I felt a need to write a review is the pricing the cost on the unit was 123,995.00. I listed the specifics below you can view it under the stock number as it is still active as of April 2nd 2023. I was able to get the price down to 115K was their best price. I did let them know I found the same Thor Axis 24.3 at Demondtrond RV dealer located 45 miles away in Texas City and it was listed at 112,000 and after talking to them I was able to get a final purchase price of 101,000 and the unit at Demodtrand actually had 3K of upgrades on the unit power seats, electric stabilizers, solar power, and a few other options that the Katy location did not offer at Camping World. So, with the upgrades and price difference your looking a savings of 17K that is just a lot of savings. I would recommend shopping around and being a educated buyer if using camping world Katy location as they are not competitive in pricing. Murph, I wanted to thank you again for being so great at your job, I am truly sorry your working and selling this RV at camping world Katy that just is not competitive in the market. Coleman 2855BH2017 purchased in February 2017 and both sides are delaminating. In April small bubbles on the outside appeared and since grown into very large bubbles. CampingWorld took this in over a 6 weeks ago saying it looks bad and they would help. Well I'm now being told to google the customer support line for Coleman to check on the warranty status from the manufacturer. After calling 2 places and them saying to call another person I get a keystone automated message at 4pm that they are closed. This is our first RV and the service has not been stellar. Our salesperson Hector is no longer with them. I am paying a monthly loan, storage and insurance payment on a camper I cannot use with no clear end or representation from CampingWorld in sight. Sold my Motor Home to Camping World on the 29th of June. They offered 45000.00, I wrote them a check for the rest to pay the bank off. It is now 21th of July and the bank has not been paid. Can not get any answers, just the run around and excuses. Another issue is they do not trouble shoot problems. When I brought my RV in to sell to them, there was an A/C issue. I asked them to fix it. I was told that it would cost more to trouble shoot and fix the problem. So they replaced the unit for 1700.00. I got the old unit and found that a Dirt Dobber had built a nest on the fan blade and shroud, which would not let it turn. The last time I will ever do business with them. I generally don't write reviews. But this time I couldn't bear it. I bought a brand new class B motorhome from their Katy store over a year ago. Their salesman told me the car has a two year warranty. During the car inspection, it was found that the sunroof could not be opened, accessories were missing, and 4 other problems. They said to order accessories and let me know when they became available. Sadly, after a year, they still say there are no accessories. When I told them there was something wrong with the controller that started the generator, they said there was no two year warranty. I have to pay for it myself. This agent is so disrespectful. Really regret buying an RV from them. The RV has been with them for about half a year now. No one answered the phone. What a nightmare. read more

We purchased a Class B Mercedes Thor Tranquility 4x4. Everything was quick for us with negotiation and the purchase as we personally were in a tight spot with time and the dealership is 5 hours from our home. We had stopped on the way home from Houston and picked out the Coach and returned 4 days later to pick up, this is where it got bad. I almost did not buy as I had shopped interest rates because we have very good credit. The rate they quoted me and the rate they were trying to close was different, plus the cost was different than he had quoted me also. They ended up coming down on the rate & cost after telling me it was out of their control? The walk through: the coach was soaking wet. This made it very hard to navigate as well as the technician performing the walk through was a mechanic and not super familiar with the "how things work". We were just polite as he was very transparent with the "I'm not sure's" and we decided working a small Class B Coach would not be too hard. It was missing a few parts and we were told "they would put those in". Immediately when we got home we began scouring and learning the unit. 1. The mats in it were still for the wrong Coach (they had said they would "put those in it"), and it was still missing the awning stakes. 2. The shower had a HUGE hole and had been REPAIRED poorly so that the shower is not usable as water would get down in the unit. Plus it was wet when got there. so they had run the water in the shower and already gotten water in the sub flooring. We were astonished. I immediately called our sales rep. Mirza, he sent us to warranty. Warranty? This is a huge sales issue. We were not disclosed that any damage had been done to this $150,000 investment before we bought it BRAND NEW. 3. There was overspray from trim damage on the driver side and trim damage on the passenger side. 4. The unit had a ton of sand in it. Why? we have no clue. 5. The handle to the bathroom had a ding in it. It was a week before before I got all the pictures and sent the email to the gal at the dealership I was instructed to send the pictures and information. I requested she call me, I got a message a couple days later from another service department rep, Jordan, and then I called him back three times over 10 days before I could get him on the phone. Now they want us to bring the unit to them or New Braunfels for a warranty issue? Either place will be a day of driving; two vehicles to drop this one. etc. We are absolutely amazed at the poor response to how upset we are that shower is damaged from them somehow before we bought it and poorly repaired. Very, very disappointing. We did almost buy from another dealer in Dallas who was going to deliver to us but we felt that out sales rep deserved the sale and it was right thing to do. Wowza! In my original review I said it took 3 months to only get an oil change right, well I was wrong. Camping World of Houston couldn't even get an oil change right. I checked the dip stick to make sure they had actually put oil in prior to taking possession of our coach but I didn't check to make sure they had put the oil cap back on the reservoir. Yep, you guessed it.....they lost the oil cap. So after 3 months they couldn't even get a simple oil change correctly without screwing that up to. There was a extra charge of 650 in which I was told this is something "everyone" pays in order to get the trailer adequately prepped. Having joined some online RV groups and looked at reviews "including" videos about Camping World. I have found that this is just a Camping World unjustified no value markup. 3.) I regrettably bought one of their warranties which through the online reviews/searches I found out later is not worth it. Apparently Camping Worlds business plan is to make the most money out of uneducated newbies at purchase. I would assume this could be exceeded by the loss of future sales. We were going ro stay at a Harvest Host a few miles up the road, but couldn't get in their lot because our tire rack would drag on the low driveway, soooo, we wanted to see about a small Cummins generator, when we called Camping World Brice answered the phone, gave us all the info about the generator, when we got there Brice had put aside a generator for us, she is very friendly, knows her products. And is a true asset to Camping World in Katey Texas, also we mentioned that we lost our Harvest Host site, so Brice said "your Good Sam Members, you can stay on our lot" AND "WE'LL PLUG YOU IN" ! Are you kidding? We couldn't believe it! It is really cold in Texas right now, so that was really fantastic for a comfortable overnight. However, we have tried to call the salesperson 4 times since the purchase and have only received one call back. Called the service center and they picked up the phone but did not answer it, just put it down. I could hear a women in the background talking to other people. We are visiting Katy Texas for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with our family. We live in California. Needed a few things and went to Camping World. Purchased RV sheets for our Cedar Creek Fifth wheel, on November 25, 2020. Said the size of the sheets were 72x80 which is an RV king.. We left the Katy Texas area and traveled to Little Rock Arkansas. Went to use the sheets, and they were way to large for our 72x80 RV king bed. We put them back into the package, and yesterday 12/13/ 2020 went to camping world in Katy Texas, and were told could not return the sheets because of Covid. The young man who was helping us called a manager, and was told, we could not return the sheets. No questions about anything with the sheets, just NO. I asked to speak with the manager and the young man told me she was going to tell me the same thing, so he would not call the manager again. I understand the Covid issue, however there were no signs near the sheet isle, and nothing on the invoice about the Covid issue. I asked several times to speak to the manager and was not able to speak with them. We left the store, and threw the sheets away. NEVER BUY FROM CAMPING WORLD AGAIN. Where do I begin? We sold our trailer through consignment from this business. Once our trailer sold after we requested to pick it up, the contract states they have 10 days to pay off our loan and pay us the money we made. It has been OVER A MONTH and we have not been paid and our loan is not paid off. We have been to the store, spoken to the GM and nothing has been done. Now we have contacted corporate office and have a case open, the case manager has been in contact and said they will take care of it Monday 7/20. Camping world has still not resolved the issue and we had to recontact the corporate office. We have now contacted our attorney to get this resolved. This office is a disgrace with employees that do not follow through and are extremely disorganized....so much so that when we went in the beginning to pick up a check because we saw it had sold online, they were confused and said it didn't sell and they had our camper waiting outside. The incorrect VIN number concluded that was a lie. Don't waste your time here. read more

They sold us a 2020 F550 Omni, Class C RV, at the Houston RV and Boat show February 2020, stating it was in factory being built (one on floor at show was "already sold," but assured us, we'd have delivery of new one to Katy, TX Camping World by mid-March 2020. After "making the deal," we found out they sold this RV more than once. In fact, there was not a RV coming from Thor, they stopped making 2020's. Salesman called me, after many inquiries about our purchase, saying they oversold, thinking they'd be able to "pull one from somewhere in the country." They sold us a phantom RV that never existed. Then, we were told the original buyers financing didn't go through for RV sold on floor, so they tried to push their demo (had been test driven and walked through by hundreds if not thousands of people) in Houston for 5 days. I went to the RV show at NRG on Friday and put a deposit down on a RV I was going to test drive at the Katy location the next day. Saturday morning I changed my mind and called the lady who helped schedule the test drive. She said she wanted me to be happy and would cancel the test drive and refund the deposit back to the card. Monday morning I get a call to finalize my deal. I said what deal? I told her I called and cancelled Saturday morning. She connected me to Guillermo who said he would have the refund in 72 hours. Still no refund and I called and left a message for Guillermo. No return call. I also called the original lady and she said it takes at least 10 days for the refund. I've never heard any business that takes 10 days or 72 hours for a refund back to a credit card. I'm very unhappy with Camping World's business practices. read more

We bought a brand new Kodiak Dutchm trailer in May. We took it out the week after we bought it. The tongue jack and refrigerator quit working along with several other small issues. We brought it back the Sunday after we bought it. It took 2 months for them to do the repairs. When we came to pick it up the battery was completely dead so we couldn't really determine if the tongue jack worked, and then there was also a flat tire. When we purchased the trailer we also purchased a backup camera. We had asked them to check the power to the back up camera while they had it. They said they did and they charged us to diagnose it, but the camera still didn't work when my husband checked the wires he found the wires had not been connected. When we were reviewing the paperwork they noted the bunk with a 300 lb capacity collapsed with 170 lb man on it. They didn't even tell us. How am I supposed to feel safe putting my kids on that bunk or the one beneath it?? It has never even been used. I have emailed the corporate "if your not happy Marcus isn't happy" email twice with no response. When I called them I spoke to a supposed manager who was supposed to send me her contact and never did. Olga from the service department is NO help and only answers 1/2 the questions you ask when you send her an email. This so far has been my biggest purchasing regret, and now I'm afraid to take my kids on a trip. I have an 18 month old baby! What if she had been on that bottom bunk??? I just recently bought a brand new 2020 Atlas Dutchmen From Camping World of Houston in Katy Texas. They were nice enough to delivered the RV to me, when I got it I used the rest room toilet and when I flushed it smelled like someone was using it for the past two months.. it smelled horrid. I love the RV it is great, but after a couple weeks I noticed a great number of problems, it took me a while to find them because literally all I do is work. The living room tv screen was really dark on one side of the TV you can barely see the image, a couple pieces of wood trim just randomly fell down over time like if they were being held up by old glue. The storage door handle malfunctioned and locked up so I couldn't access it for a couple weeks. The kitchen sink had a random leak that flooded the cabinet under the sink. The bathroom sink randomly leaked soon after the kitchen sink and got all my toilet paper and other things soaked. I dont know how but the shower sliding doors have rust all over them, and I cant even use the shower because the water leaks through the glass door frame cocking and gets the whole floor wet. The USB port in the living room on the left side of the couch does not work, and the restroom ceiling vent opens, but it opens very roughly, it feels like its going to break every time u open it. I called camping world many times to fix the leaks and they told me to call a RV repair service and they will reimburse me for the repairs. I called to get the kitchen leak fixed and camping world is still yet to reimburse me. I keep calling to try and get the other leak fixed and they keep avoiding helping me. Its been a while now and still they do not call me back or help me. They're service team is very careless, after you buy a RV from Camping World, they stop caring about the customers. I purchased a 2020 Heartland Fuel in September 2019, took RV in for warranty repairs, small repairs, nothing major, approximately $1000. RV was taken in January 11th, RV is still in shop March 1st. Every time I call I get fabricated stories by the service manager, his famous story is that he wasn't the original service advisor......I left numerous of message for the Service Manger but never gets a call back. I asked to talk to the GM, I was told he's in a staff meeting and he don't have voicemail....Really! So I highly recommend for anyone not to buy RVs from Camping World!!!! This will be the WORSE RV experience you will ever have. If I could give them minus 5 starts I would. When you call to make an appointment they make you wait for weeks, when the glorious day that you can bring your RV for service arrives they still will not get to it because they are running behind. Needless to say they don't have the courtesy to tell you this, after all that could be interpreted as good customer service or that they actually care! They never call you to give you a status unless you call them and 9 out of 10 times you get their voicemail. They will usually break something else while they have your RV. Do not take your unit to them for service or repairs. Staff is very unprofessional. You will not even get anywhere by calling corporate. They make a case and assign it to a mediator that does not call you back. What a joke. Forget about getting somebody on the phone to actually talk to you, including the GM that I left multiple messages for. That may take a couple days. I have bought two RVs from them in the last year. My unit had more damage when I got it back vs when I dropped it off. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from them. They do not care.
