I bought my pop up camper in 2019. I had to come from Ft Lauderdale to pick it up on a Thursday., my Jeep was put in their shop on a Fri., for a brake system. I stayed in a hotel on Thursday night. Prior to leaving Ft Lauderdale, I was told financing was in place and I agreed to the terms. Upon arriving Fri., they proceeded with the install. At some point during the day, the finance guy informed me that I no longer qualified for the loan because I couldn't produce 2 yrs of alimony income verification. He then proceeded to get me approved at another bank with HIGH credit card rate interest. He said just pay on it 3 months to build credit. I said ok. He then informs me that he can't finalize the financing arrangement on Sat. That I'll need to stay in a hotel until Monday! I said no! I have a camp spot rented in Jacksonville and I'm not paying for a total of 4 nights in a hotel. He offered zero solutions. So I had to get a ride to my bank to withdraw $16,000 cash to pay for the camper and $1,000 in extras. So beware of the bait and switch loan tactics. I'd of never went there had I been informed my loan was not 100% in place. read more

I would consider looking for another location for any of your service needs. I called and made an appointment to have my new trailer serviced, the forward stabilizer would not come down. I had an appointment for 8:30 on October 20th. They did not even look at my trailer until 10/27. I called on November 2nd for an update, I was told a request on warranty service was sent on October 27. What they did not tell me is that request for warranty service is an internal office at their Bartow Location. It sat or was held in that office for 3 1/2 weeks. the reason... "were busy". When I called on 11/18 I was told the warranty request was sent to Forest River on 11/16. Now we wait for Forest River to respond, before they order parts....then another 4-6 weeks form Gander to order Parts, can't help but wonder if their Parts Department is backed up by 3 1/2 weeks too. read more

I bought a used Class C motor home. The sales persons (Jesse and Derrick) were good. The service tech who did the walk through was excellent (Jeff). The management folks, who don't come talk to you but are definitely making the decisions, are neither good nor excellent. I thought the tires were not in great condition but wanted a friend to come and check them out. I didn't ask that they be replaced at Gander's expense. I asked that they be replaced at their cost if my friend thought I needed new tires. They agreed to do this. Then my friend and I decided that the tires did indeed need to be replaced. And the bad part of my experience started. First they ordered travel trailer tires for my Class C. When I objected, they ordered Light Truck tires. For a 30' Winnebago on a Ford F-450 chassis. I pointed out that their website lists which tires they recommend for a Class C and I would like to buy a set of that kind. "Crickets". No response so far. Considering that it's now been over two weeks since I purchased the unit and I am nearly to my planned departure date, I guess they've won... they don't have to sell me tires at their cost. Considering that tires are nearly at the top of anyone's safety list, I have to conclude they don't care much about my well-being. read more

Here is the update. Our rig is still not 100% operational. It seems like we bought a nightmare for $160k. Now we are taking care of it at the Camping Worl in Tampa (on I4). Teressa has been awesome (service Desk Representative). She has gone out of her way to accommodate us and try to get us into an "operational mode". She has informed me that the roof (sealant) is not covered due to I have 90 days to make any claim from the buy date. But the rig has been in most of the time in the shop since we bought it and it has to rain for me to detect any leaks. So, if I don't have the rig nor it rains when I am in it, how should I detect a roof leak? I am very frustrated with Camping World's twist of the "legal" words to circumvent your liability and customer service. Service department: unprofessional, don't answer phone calls, don't provide honest updates on your RV, unreliable, and fail to even remotely respect that they are repairing a major investment of yours. Have used them previously before they merged with Gander RV and was satisfied with the service and the service advisors. Now, the service advisor we were working with was unavailable, wouldn't return phone calls, and when we were advised we could pick our unit up, it wasn't ready in spite of reassurances it was since we were driving 100 miles to pick it up. Most of our warranty work was not done and there was no effort to find ways to complete the work even though the unit was there for 2 MONTHS. Not gonna type out a book but just know purchased a 2022 Grey wolf cherokee 274wk new and been getting jerked around about problems with the trailer. Still have not picked it up as problems still not fixed. This thing was literally growing plants indernthe dinette from a leak and they said it was fixed because they cleaned the carpet. On July 4thy my NEW never used trailer had a lightening ball go through it taking out everything 12V. Now I understand each system has to be tested to be repaired, but this is September 28th and only after complaining to the general Manager have I had any response from the dealership. I gave the girl a list of known issues when I delivered it and have not been kept abreast of any repairs any ordered parts. I have been kept in the dark totally. The customer service when face to face with them is very cordial but NO communication as to status at all NONE. They are selling way beyond their means of servicing and now we, the customers. pay the price. An example of how this is going to COST me personally; the batteries are dead and have been for several months so how long will they last once charged back up? I will be the one replacing them . I have a $10 K Carport to keep it out of the weather but is it under my Carport?NO! it sits out in the weather being exposed to the elements. I could go on but I am sure you get the flavor of just how POOR the service is there. Take your unit there at your own risk! Be warned!! One last thing wile there someone has used the toilet and I found a 2x4 stuffed in it . I can show you many more unfinished repairs but by now you must be getting my warning. read more

Terrible customer services. Bought a Coleman side by side and had issues with it immediately. Called the dealership and spoke to my salesman Mathias. Was told for weeks he is waiting to here from his manager if they would exchange it. They aren't allowed to repair it apparenty, only sell them. Since they can't fix it, tell me where to take it, or wont answer if they willing to exchange it, I will be returning it this Monday. I can't imagine buying something as expensive as an RV from these people. Oh and when I called today I was told there was no manager to speak with. Open during business hours with no manager? If 5 star service is what you want then that is what you'll get from Camping World. Camping World was right on top of the game from the start with their follow up. I had been debating whether to make my own camping trailer, buy a van or buy a travel trailer. Their sales teams from each of the respective locations that I visited online were on their game, calling right away to see how they could help me. Other RV dealers in Central Florida never bothered reaching out and when I went to visit them, they were all dress for the sale but knew little about even the products they had ready to go. Camping World of Bartow and Catherine Baum won out. Catherine is top knotch, helpful, honest and knowledgable. She either knows the answer or knows who has the answer, and while I'm talking about the the knowledgable staff: Wow, they are absolutely the best, friendliest and most polite people you'll ever want to meet. Whether it's the staff that welcomes you; Robert, the Parts Manager; Jeff, the Finance Manager; Jeff, the manager who gave our "Newbie Tour"; Jonathan, the Service Manager or any of the other staff, these people just ROCK! I bought a water regulator at a camping world while camping in Pennsylvania and was told if it failed it would be replaced, no problem. With that guarantee, I bought one last October and the gauge failed a few months ago. I took it to this place, which was a joke of a grand opening, and was told no way, should have bought a replacement plan. These people could care less, and even as a rewards member, no difference. Then they asked me if I wanted to extend my rewards. The people here ignored me until I had to ask around to get help while most of them walked away from me. I was going to shop for campers here, but not going to spend a ton of money on a new camper if they will not even help you out with a $30 part. Buyer beware here!! read more

I paid $90 about 7 months ago to get a "lesson" with my new to me teardrop trailer. The lesson lasted 40 minutes, they did not connect anything, basically said plug it in here and hook up water here, could not show me how the panel worked because apparently had never worked with a teardrop before. After using the trailer two weekends I had two questions about the battery and hot water. They would not answer any questions unless I paid them again because it was "almost a year since I had been there." The manager spent as much time arguing with me as it would have taken to answer two simple questions! I'm not a happy camper and will find a different dealer next time As an add on..... I had my teardrop in to get the brake box adjusted. 4 hours later it does not work. They did not install the box, but I waited 4 hours for them to tell me that the wiring needed to be changed. This was after the mechanic switched out the fuse twice, I don't think he knows if I actually got the new one, dropped the battery cover into the engine, which took time to find, and then to top it off they were going to charge me for PPE (personal protective equipment, nobody in the store was wearing a mask!). They did only charge me for the half hour, ($85 charge) which they seemed upset about, but I left without having the brake box working. Bought a new 2021 e-pro travel trailer. The two deep cycle batteries would not stay charged with the solar panel. Took the unit in to be checked, it was there for a week and a half. When I picked it up I was told all was working like it should. Brought it home to discover I had the same problem. Solar panel should charge the batteries so the fridge and lights work. Batteries die in two days. After reading the reviews I don't think I should take it back to them. It's band new. read more

If you are planning to go to the Camping World located at Bartow, Hwy 60, please be aware that their honesty is questionable. Do not trust their level of expertise. Make sure you know what you want, and equally important, how many pounds your car can tow. Happened to me as a first time RV buyer, I did not did my homework thinking that I can trust the "experts". The salesman gave me an incorrect information about how many pounds my car can tow, and based on that, I ended buying a useless RV for my family. High five to Kami in service. We took our new camper to them for warranty issues and Kami called me about seven times to update me on the progress. Our camper was complete in a month. She was polite and very understanding of our concerns. We bought the camper at their Tampa location and had to take it back to them for leaks and water damage to the inside. I had to call them a Million times to get answers and it took them two months to get the camper fixed. Never going to Tampa again for repairs. Bartow location is much better. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I ever had, I purchased a used 2016 Thor Tuscany and it was filthy along with numerous items in need of repair, they detailed it again and delivered it in pretty much the same condition. Beware of shady sales tactics with extended warranties TJ tried to sell us $19,000 for a warranty,the exact same plan with the same company you can buy online for a fraction of the cost. He will also keep you in conversation while he slips paperwork in front of you for signature. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but Gander of Bartow the have one of the lowest reviews for a reason. There management has been changed out a few times. I was told the put paint protection on RV and the roof is covered in dirt after the supposedly applied it. My rating would be a -10 if it would let me They let my coach flood after they knew I brought it in for a slide leak. I will never go back to a Camping World location my coach had 5000$ in brand new flooring which now I have to replace 40% of it another $2500 I will have to spend. I went to General Manager and service manager about the issue they offered me 700$ if I would get other work done there or buy a coach rediculous why would I give them more money when they never fixed the problem or protected the coach I brought in, they never could really tell me where the leak was and to beat it all I had to pay 400$ plus to get my coach back. Not only this but I understand the president of Camping World Corporate is a flaming Liberal and has said that conservatives were not welcome in his stores. I'm still suffering from ptsd from the service departments unwillingness to return a call, give honest status information!! im still waiting for my rv to get fixed. I have to go to the location and wander around to see what is actually going on with my camper. after hurricane Ian I went by to check status of my rv , that had already sat there for over a month. the windows were open and bathroom vent open. water damaged walls and the awning had pulled the roof seal out. they said I should have closed them when I dropped it off. this is a effing lie to cover up they opened them to dry out my camper. I seriously have know idea what to do next. also my service rep saw me in the service center and told me my rv was in service bay and will be done the next day. I looked out the window and saw my rv sitting exactly in the same spot it had been sitting in over a month ago. the hopeless helpless feeling I have is overwhelming!! He was very knowledgeable and able to show us 5th wheels that we really liked and would meet our needs and expectations. Derek wasn't a pushy salesman but he did ask the right questions that helped direct us to the types of options that best suited the things that we were looking for in our new RV. I would not use nor recommend this company! We bought a brand new 2017 Coleman from the Bartow location in October. After our first camping trip we had to bring the unit back because the slide was leaking. We called the Bartow service department several times and they were rude and never returned our calls so we just showed up. Although they CLAIM to do inspections before they sell a unit, we were told our slide had to be replaced because it had been leaking for quite sometime and the floor and roof were in bad condition. We have made an abundance of calls to ask questions and check on the repair progress but either they have no clue what we are talking about or they "can't find our unit on the lot"...REALLY? They have no clue what they are doing nor do they have any customer service skills. This unit has been at Camper World's service dept more than it's been at our home- AND its a new unit. We have been lied too and given the run around these last 4 months. I even attempted to reach the General Manager Kevin who NEVER returns calls, I had to show up to even try to speak with him. What a waste of time, he didn't seem to care that they sold us a unit that was defective nor did he offer any resolution. They drag their feet and just don't care about the customer. When this repair is finally finished we will not be returning and I advise everyone to STEER CLEAR OF CAMPER WORLD IN BARTOW! read more

Absolutely the worst place to go to for repairs and service. And the customer service people are also the worst. The service manager Steve and service advisor Misty Deiter are the absolute worst people to deal Yes I am. I have already spoken to corporate and they will not step in. The management from the store is never available to answer phone calls when I call. Im always told that Steve or Misty will return my call but they never do. Then when I drive an hour to the store to speak in person I'm told they aren't working on that day, then a short time later I see them walking through the store. When I have confronted Misty she tells me she too busy to come out to speak to me. They had my motorhome for 59 days, i.was told it was fixed. When I went to pick it up the slide still didn't work. And all the coach batteries were dead from sitting on their lot for two months. When I went to pick it up someone brought it out and left it in the parking lot, never checked anything just walked away. There is no accountability with those people. And before I could take it they made me pay them for Labor and diagnostic fees, otherwise they held my motorhome hostage. An absolute disgrace of a place. read more

We purchased a 2022 Thor Château in Feb. and still don't have it. When we took delivery we found the generator wouldn't run so we took it back and several weeks later after many calls they said it was the carburetor so we took it back home and started loading it for a trip but then discovered the rooftop air conditioner was blowing warm air. We took it back and it took them 3 weeks to say the air conditioner was no good and would take 4 to 8 weeks for repair. I can get it next day on Amazon. After many calls and many lies now they tell us 2 weeks but don't say for shipment or repair. We are very unhappy so a company representative from the corporate office called and complained about our son giving them a bad review, Christeen was her name. She was going on about how great her people were and how they always call back, wasn't to our phone, went on about RV's not being dependable blah, blah. When you spend upwards to $150, 000 it should work and what good is a warranty when they don't want to honor it. Christen ended up hanging up on us, so much for customer service. My mother and father purchased a RV from here in Feb 2022. They have never taken it anywhere and where getting it ready to take a trip. When they were trying out the generator it wouldn't work. So they called to have someone check it out before leaving to go on there trip. While driving it back to the dealership they had purchased brand new they notice that the air conditioning was not working. So they told the service dept what was going on and dropped it off. It is now a month later and still haven't gotten there RV back. They called to check on the updated and was told they would have to order parts and could be up to 8 weeks before they would be finished. They have never called my parents once. My mother has been the one who has had to call to get updates. My father had to call the customer service number for the model of the camper to get them to contact the dealership and get them started fixing the problems. If I was to ever to purchase anything to do with campers,Rv's or camping in general I would recommend to go else where this place is a joke and likes to take advantage of older people. i will keep posting till the problem is resolved and I will share this with everyone in the area to Avoid this place read more

The saga continues! Repair completed and we picked up the camper and paid the bill and dashed home to pack for vacation! We inspected the work and reviewed the bill. Well, you already expect something is amiss. We were charged for work that was not done! I will say that after a call they sent us a refund for that, just over $170.00! Yeah!!! Now on the road.....our first night out the repair they had "completed" leaked more than before they fixed it! I wanted to take it back after our trip and have them fix it or return our money but my husband said he will do the repair himself! We strongly suggest you take your business elsewhere, this has been an expensive nightmare that definitely could have been avoided if people had more pride and higher work ethic and probably a bit more supervision! read more
