Visiting Bass Pro Shops with our grandson have become a thing- especially for Grandpa John and Riley, but sometimes I get to tag along too. We were fortunate to find that our St Augustine location had an entire "North Pole" set up and knew to look at the one in Tampa too- and yes, they had games, crafts and Santa, ready for photos! We played a few shooting games and browsed the store. I love this shop for all the outdoor hobbies! And apparel to go with those outdoor adventures!

If Disney World and Cabela's had a baby raised by outdoor man and stars of duck dynasty, that lovechild would be the Bass Pro Shops in Brandon. This place isn't a store. It's a theme park where the rides are made of camouflage, and the faint smell of smoked brisket.

No sunglasses under $59. Kind of surprised by that seeing it has all things fishing. But apparently they only let Sunglass Hut sell the glasses. They should offer a cheap pair for fishermen or sailors who just need a quick pair. But the rest of the store was amazing. Had a nice visit. Plenty of parking. Good inventory. Bought 3 items and think I will be happy with them. There were plenty of salespeople on the floor to help you if needed. Great concept.(but have some cheap sunglasses)

For what it is trying to be, Bass Pro Shops hits it out of the park. Huge selection of fishing, hunting, and marine items. I do none of those things, but I can recognize when an outfit is gettin it done.

Been to Bass Pro Shops a few times for Xmas Pics and Easter Pics. The reservation system is quite easy online and when you get there you do not have to wait too long. They take one free pic. You can take them on your phone as well and they have pic packages you can buy from if you want. The Santa set up is festive and nice and the Easter Set up is simple but still thoughtful. So happy we can go here and get pics with our furbaby Mocha Coconut and enjoy them for years to come.

Placed an order and came to pick up and they could not find all of it. They said they refunded the shirt and can not find one item. Now running around and no one seems to know where it is. They did pull one off their shelf and refund my daughters card and made me repurchase the item they lost. I was disappointed as we shop here often and usually have good service.

I love walking into Bass Pro Shops. I'm not a fisherman, hunter or any kind of sports person, I despise being outdoors for long. But the decor inside and out of their buildings is fascinating from the animal tracks imprinted along the cement walkways to the pond with fake ducks and the boats parked in the doorways those touches are creative enough to make visits seem adventurous. But i come for the novelties specifically their old fashioned candy. They carry Claeys hard candies in many flavors which is a bit hard to find elsewhere. My two stars is for unfriendly service. The employees here are not friendly to everyone, only to those they are familiar with as in frequent patrons or maybe their friends? The cashier checking me out never looked at me once, looking around instead and throwing comments at me. No greeting, no welcome, no thank you for spending your money with us. I felt very dismissed. Not cool. I would say that I'd never go back, but they have Claeys.

I went in today after going to top golf. I enjoy walking around and seeing what they have in their store but what I am not a fan of is going in and getting asked to join a time share! The gentleman today was very good and knowledgeable but I was not interested! I am of the mind set that don't approach me I'll approach you.. a lady got us for something like it as we came in front door! All I want to do is shop and be left alone. If I ask what the deal is then yes by all means tell me all about it. I enjoy seeing the aquarium, walking around in the guns see what prices are.. I like the boats and even the clothes.. but I don't like them asking me about timeshares..

Today was the day I left 5 boxes of 308 and 2 boxes of 270 at the register.... No I will not get a Bass pro credit card so I can buy 7 boxes instead of you limit of 5.... And to top it off a POS timeshare salesperson stoping me with a question as though he was anything other than a conman trying to sell someones grandmother a timeshare... Doing business with bass pro shops would be rewarding bad behavior.

Hard to find help. Things missing from shelf. People not engaged. Don't have events anymore. Not the Bass Pro it used to be.

There's a fantastic seafood restaurant, fishing pier, and pretty water views too! During the winter months when the sun sets early at 530-6, the park really should have lights for the playground at least until 8pm. There's not enough parking spots for this park and parking on side of road has signs that say no parking which is ridiculous because everyone parks on the side of the road anyways. If you're in the south Tampa area and looking for pretty water views, casual seafood, or a fun kids playground, definitely visit Ballast Point Park!

There's also a gorgeous view of the distant Tampa skyline overlooking the water. They have swinging benches where you can enjoy the view of the water and it's so serene. Unfortunately, there is usually a pier & boardwalk you can walk out upon as well. But (assumingly) due to Hurricane Helene & Milton it is still closed down and under construction. That was definitely a bummer but will make the park that much better once it's open again. Such a lovely little area that's almost a hidden gem in Tampa!

The nature center has a bathroom and a bit of information, but all the displays were empty, including the outdoor one that allegedly used to have a tortoise. The center is currently closed due to Covid but the bathrooms are open. From what I could tell, on our mad dash to the bathroom and distance viewing, the displays are informative and well done. I'd love to return when it is safe to and take a look. The park has three trails that are part of the spree. We hiked the Bobcat Trail since it includes the boardwalk. The trail travels for about a half mile through trees and over dusty shells. Then it connects to the boardwalk. This was by far the best part. We walked along the beautiful, tree lined water, getting up close and personal with a bunch of small black crabs. We scanned the water for manatees but were not lucky to find any. The trail ends back at the nature center. We climbed the back steps to the top level and caught a great view of the river and the distant city. After the hike we hit up the playground for a few minutes. This is always my kids' favorite part. We also stopped off at the butterfly garden which was pretty active on this day. The park was in great shape, the bathrooms were clean, there were lots of people around doing various park things. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, nature hunting and playing on the playground are just some of the things available at your fingertips here. So glad we visited! Can't wait to return to check out the other trails.
