Support Local! On Main Street Safety Harbor, this local favorite shop offers a wide variety of fun in the sun clothing. Including with SP50 all styles, shoes (including OluKai), sandals and flips, outdoor sports gear: paddle boards. camping, fishing, grilling (including grills) and just plain fun necessities. Service is excellent, always helpful and ready to order sizes you may not see. We recently purchased two inflatable paddle boards and a pump during a holiday sale, great deal. Clothing value and prices very reasonable including Sun shirts and T-shirts with Safety Harbor included on logo print which makes great gifts. While venturing through downtown Safety Harbor, be sure to check out this family-owned shop full of recreational gear and attire. UV protective shirts are something everyone in Florida should own, not just for fisherman. I wear mine after a long beach day, as well as on boats. Who doesn't love YETI cups? Backwater has a wall full of them in different colors and sizes, including my favorite: the wine tumbler. Fishing gear galor, apparel for men, women, and children. This small store holds a lot of merch and has a fitting room! The owners are so friendly and welcoming, you'll feel like a neighbor even if you're not local to Safety Harbor. read more

Why 5 stars? Only place in downtown Safety Harbor where you can get men's sports apparel (woman's too...) for outdoor activities like fishing and Kayaking. Dropped in here this week as they just opened. We've been waiting for a place like this in Safety Harbor for a long time. Not only do they have a wide variety of fishing / boating type of apparel they also have Yeti coolers, fishing poles, shoes for the boat, Trager Grills and all sorts of fun stuff. Definitely a must check out store in Safety Harbor. Picked up a cool Toadfish cup (Omg like a tumbler but can't tip over on the boat) and a fishing shirt for my son. One of the owners was there and when my size on another shirt was out of stock he said it will be here in two weeks and stop back on by! Great small town experience. I previously had an issue with my son's fishing pole and was disheartened by the response I initially received from their employee. However, after my initial review, I was contacted by the owner who explained the confusion of their new employee and he also promised to help fix or repair the rod. So even though the rod company's lifetime warranty is a joke, Backwater is coming to the rescue! I am very grateful they are willing to help and that is something you can truly only get with local companies. read more

Well....we were in SH for the Wine Festival and we're just browsing, but when we went into this store the two staff members were so kind, knowledgeable and helpful that three of the four of us HAD to buy these AWESOME Toadfish non tip Wine tumblers because of the awesome glass inserts that don't change the taste of the wine, yet enable you to have a stainless insulated cup- easy size to hold, AND the glass insert ensures that the taste of the wine isn't affected by the metal of the stainless tumbler! I'm enjoying a super cold white tonight and decided I HAD to give thanks! Wonderful store, incredible friendly employees- I'm heading back tomorrow to get a few more for birthday gifts for a few friends!! Praying they still have more!! read more
