We visited this location for a packet pickup for a race, and stayed for the shopping. There were some great sales, unique Tampa Bay merchandise and super helpful staff working the registers. The people here seem to really enjoy their jobs and interacting with customers, so it was a joy to shop. Although their product selection is really good and the store is clean the people that work there, at least for tonight, obviously don't want to be there. When I go into a store and I lay down almost $500 I would expect at least respectful treatment. Nothing in there is cheap and when you go in there, you expect that. HURRICANE Price Gouging! Taking care of my 83 year old mother in law during Hurricane Milton. Thinking ahead about losing power, I buy a Blackstone Grill ($199.99) & 6 small propane bottles. We lost power for about 16 hours but didn't need to use the grill. All Unopened & unused, I drove them back for return. The cashier, Brody, (who was just doing his job) informed me that the manager saw me walking in & that the propane could not be returned. There was NO notification when I bought the propane that it wasn't returnable. No signage, nothing. This is $45 of propane that I have absolutely no use for. I know legally they included a disclaimer on the back of the receipt that gets them off the hook, but it also says you can receive a refund if you have a receipt. I saw a woman at the WaWa today gift another woman a bag of ice, they hugged afterwards. THAT is how we should be treating each other during a natural disaster, NOT LIKE DICK'S! When they provided me with Corp phone, it goes directly to the security guard of their office building in PA, only to be told they do not have any phone number. The President, Lauren Hobart, is nowhere to be found and unresponsive. My issue is a Xmas return that the store wanted to refund $49 although the item, on the same day of return, is on the shelf for $129. This is nothing less than stealing. I understand if they want to issue a store credit or even charge a restocking fee BUT to steal $80 is unacceptable. Never again will I shop Dick's only to get DICKED by them. Dick's Sporting Goods does a poor job informing you on their return policy before you purchase any products. They have their return policy printed in very small text on a very small sign at their registers, you don't even see the sign and you are to busy checking out to read it. The policy is not even written on the receipt, Dick's hides it. Its disappointing when you put your trust into products sold at Dicks Sporting Goods to find out when the product breaks they will not take it back, even when its with-in 30 days because you dared take it out of the packaging and use it. The softball bat was used in a few games and cages and experienced huge dents, seemed like every ball dented the bat and was deemed illegal to use in a game. Dick's didn't care about the poor product, just stated they don't take back bats no matter what if the wrapped has been removed. They also stated that I should have purchase the additional warranty policy from their third party. Before you purchase at bat at Dick's at checkout it should be fully explained to you from the cashier that bats cannot be return if unwrapped, or any of their other list of products they will not take back. So i guess this is how they sell more warranty policies on products they know are poor. This was a poor product, backed by poor customer service. Let first say that I am a huge fan of DSG, but not this location. There are two major problems here...first being that they have NO merchandise! There is a lot of empty space and what they do have, they never have the size/color in stock that I need. Every other DSG I've been to is fully stocked with multiple sizes and lots of products, even throughout COVID. The other huge issue is the cleanliness of the dressing rooms. The clipboard they use to track cleanings are obviously useless because there was filth everywhere. read more

Jim spent quite a bit of time answering all of my questions and helping me improve my swing mechanics. He went above and beyond the usual levels of customer service and had a lot of concern for me "getting it right". Dick's refuses to take a pair of running shoes back after I ran on the treadmill 3 times with them and had fit issues. The bottom shows a couple of marks from the treadmill, but I've never worn them outside. How am I supposed to know if a pair of running shoes fit if I don't run with them? Every other running store would at least give store credit for them. Dick's just flat out refuses out of concerns if taking a loss on the item. I really was underwhelmed here. I went to Dick's to look for shoe insoles recommended by my chiropractor and some team gear for my husband to wear for the big Game. Inside this store, is huge. And a bit disorienting. I had a hard time locating the shoe section. Once I did, I just wasn't able to locate the insoles. There was a small kiosk in the shoe area, manned by several young men. One asked in a disinterested manner if I needed help finding anything, but did point me in the direction of the insoles. I found what I needed there. Then I headed to men's wear. They had a fairly large team section, but not what I was looking for. This was not surprising, considering the game was the next day. The checkout line was very long, but moved quickly, they had a good amount of registers open. Overall, I just felt kind of out of place. Just cannot say enough about this store & the help from Aaron. His knowledge was refreshing especially when your not familiar with specific equipment. He took the time and explained all the different types of basketballs. The store was so clean and very well organized. Dick's advertises items that it does not carry. I have been a Dick's customer for years and get their emails several tines a week. I received an email the other day advertising ammunition at an attractive price so I drove to the Countryside store (Clearwater, FL) only to find out that Dick's no longer carries guns or ammunition at this location. I spoke to an associate and he told me that the only local (somewhat) locations that carry these items are Citrus Park, Spring Hill and Lakeland. Today I had planned on driving to the Citrus Park location (least distance from me) and felt that I should call and make sure the items was in stock . I am glad I did because the associate I spoke to told me that they have not had the item I was looking for in months and did not know why Dick's was advertising it. I went online to email customer service about this issue but Dick's website does not show an email address for customer service and when you call the phone number listed you receive a message of "longer than normal waiting times). What is going on with this company? Why are they advertising items they do not have? I am very disappointed with Dick's. read more

My dealings in this store have only been biking related. Ian is by far one of the best dudes to ever help me in any big box retailer. He spent several hours fixing the tires on my bike. I am glad they opened this Dick's in Clearwater just because I prefer to shop here rather than Sports Authority. I think there selection is better than Sports Authority, and to be honest they have just about everything you could need from a sports store. I think there prices are a tad high, but I think that is about on par for most "name brand" sports items. You really can't find cheap Under Armor or Nike clothes anywhere, so I can't really knock Dick's for that. The store is clean, and the clothes are always organized and not thrown all over the place like you tend to see at other clothing stores. The shoe selection is pretty decent. I think they are high priced on shoes and I tend to find better deals at the shoe stores at the mall. Overall, I am happy with the customer service I receive when I shop here and the selection as well. read more

I will be finding somewhere else to refill my CO2 tanks. I have previously made several trips only to be told that they don't have anyone on the floor who can fill tanks. Yesterday I brought in 3 tanks, again I was told there was no one available to fill tanks however I could leave the tanks and pick them up the following day. When I returned today, I was told they were out of CO2 and didn't know when they would have more. Ridiculous, very poorly managed and getting help at this location is an effort. When you ring the buzzer for assistance you are lucky to get a response without ringing several more times and waiting 10 minutes. Service is horrible read more

This Dick's location has a huge variety of products. I have recently bought some cold weather gear for a ski trip and most recently a kayak and paddles to hit the Florida waterways. All I had to do was push the service call button in the kayak section and someone was there to assist us immediately. We asked a few questions that the first guy want sure of the answer but called another guy over and got us the answers we needed. While we waited for our product to be brought out from the back to the register, which was only a few minutes, 3 different employees asked if we needed help. Great customer service! Although I can agree that most of the regular clothing items are much more expensive than their competitors, this is a great place to find specific items for all of your outdoor needs at very comparable prices. read more

Dicks has everything. I have been to many stores and it is always an adventure. Needed some new nike shoes and a light weight jacket for a trip. I looked online at several stores Northface particularly, but shoes and some clothes if you don't try it on its a gamble ordering online. I would agree with some of the yelp reviews for this store the customer service is lacking. If you don't know where it is go luck. Also trying on shoes on a busy Saturday afternoon 2/17 is a chore to get service. Downside to my Saturday errand day. Done after this. Patience can be tried. Went to the new Dick's in Tyrone mall because of an ad that offered gulp lures for $5. Didn't see the fine print in blurred red and black that said after a $10 rebate. That was bad but the parking was worse. Drove up and down the too small site eventually parking a hundred yards away. The developers sold off lots of the parking area to make a couple of bucks by installing a row of restaurants. Poor planning. I'll stick to the internet where the tyrone Mall is concerned. First, why should it be so difficult to contact a company to share a positive review? I searched online for a "Contact Us" link - nada. Of course there is the "Survey" on the receipt, but that's another story. So, back to the positive review. On February 21st, we were shopping for a waterproof jacket. A sales clerk in the adjacent department asked if I needed some help. Responded that I was looking for a jacket. The young man came over to assist and then showed me a Huk jacket on the discount rack. He told me that he uses his while fishing, and showed me pictures of a huge Tarpon he caught (catch and release) and other fabulous pictures of him wearing the Huk jacket and catching lots of fish. I had not heard of Huk previously but liked the quality of the jacket. This young man was very polite and helpful. Shortly after, I had my husband check out the Huk jacket - Sold!! We then looked at some of the Huk shirts - sold and sold!! (Bought one for the husband and another as a gift). We saw the young man back working in the other department and thanked him; husband got to see his fish picture (to prove it wasn't a fish tale). So sorry that I don't remember his name (Jason, Joe, Jonas??); he is a very positive force to have on the Dick's team. read more
