We had lunch here and were pleasantly surprised. We usually avoid eating at stone mountain because the menu at the marketplace is very limited and overpriced. Given that we had low expectations, we enjoyed our experience here. This is a sit down restaurant located in the village within stone mountain park. It has a camping theme and has cute decor and a family friendly environment. We had the campfire meal ($19.99 per adult). We ordered for 2 adults and it was enough food for four of us and two munchkins (but we were not that hungry to start with). It is served family style and they adjust portion sizes depending on how many people you order for. The meal is great because it comes with a starter salad, BBQ ribs about 6 pieces of 2 ribs each), fried chicken (2 pieces) and chicken tenders (4 pieces), 2 sides, and a peach cobbler dessert. Meal starts with warm fluffy rolls that are literally tossed to you. They are a bit greasy but soft and yummy. The salad was a mixed garden salad with strawberries. I put some of the meat from the ribs in and it was a great salad. The ribs were good. It has a unique sauce (coke based?) that I thought was good. The chicken fingers are typical fast food quality. We got the fries and corn on the cob as sides. The fries were perfectly crispy. I didn't try the fried chicken or corn so can't comment on those. For dessert, they brought us brownies (4 pieces) and ice cream (usually part of the cheaper meal) instead of the cobbler. We were in a hurry to leave so we just finished up and left. Service was good. Our server was very attentive and was nice. It's always hard to eat at a sit down restaurant with kids but they seemed to enjoy the food and I would come back next time we want to eat in the park. read more

After enjoying Stone Mountain Park all day, we decided to cool down a bit with a sit down dinner. We chose Campfire Grill, which used to be Miss Katie's Sideboard Restaurant. Because service was always very hit or miss at Miss Katie's, I was hoping for better things from the new spot. We waited several minutes for our server to come to our table to get our drink order. We told her we were ready to place our food order too. We ordered things based on the description on the menu. - Fried Pickles as our appetizer Entrees were - Chicken Quesadilla: Cheese, Chicken and Poblano Peppers was the description - Chicken Tenders: Freshly Breaded and Fried to order - Burger: Charbroiled Burger 1st: Our server brought out our Fried Pickle Appetizer with our entrees. We told her we wanted them first and we didn't need them with our food. She stated that the fried pickles usually take a long time and they come out with the food. If that is the case, she should have spoken up when we ordered them as an APPETIZER! She took them back and they didn't remove them from our check. 2nd: There were 3 in our party. One was drinking water with lemon and splenda added, one was drinking just water with lemon and one was drinking tea. After being out of drink for a few minutes, our server took all three glasses away from our table to refill them. Upon her return, one guest asked if she was sure the water that the server returned to her was indeed hers and not the other person in the party. The server looked at us strangely and assured us that they were returned to the original guest. Wrong! They were returned to us wrong. Thankfully, we are close friends and didn't mind sipping each other's water, however, I have an autoimmune disease and don't like drinking after other people seeing how I can get sick so easily. If my friend had a cold, or something else, it would be transmitted to me through swapping drinks. 3rd: The chicken tenders were far from "freshly breaded and fried to order". They were frozen and mediocre at best. 4th: The quesadilla was merely cheese and chicken and NO peppers as promised on the menu. When we let the server know, she said, that they would discount her check. They took 89 cents off. Woopty Do. 5th: The burger was bland and generic, tasted like the burger you'd get in a case from Costco. We live in ATL and usually have season passes to Stone Mountain and we frequently take out of town guests there. Today, we took friends from NC. Sadly, we had to continue to apologize for the crappy dinner choice. On the way out, we asked to speak to a manager. We discussed all of the above problems only to have the manager (Adam) hum haul around and he finally did admit that the chicken tenders were indeed frozen. I would say that this was a fun sit down restaurant that would compliment well with the entire Stone Mountain experience. The price point for the food was a bit higher than if you had ordered the same thing at a restaurant outside of the park, but the tent design above the booths and fake fires in the corners of the room provided a nice touch of ambiance. The food was very rich, heavy, and was a lot for the price. The biggest drawback for me was that there was an off taste in the fry batter. The fried green tomatoes tasted as though they could have been in the same fryer as the pickles and and the chicken fingers had a very similar after taste. The fried chicken tasted normal, so i couldn't tell if it was that batter or just their recipe. I wouldn't go back, but i was happy that i was able to go and have fun with friends once. read more

The boys liked the kids cheeseburger. My daughter thought it was too charred but the fries are nice and crispy. I liked the catfish and mashed potatoes and next time we are going to split an adult meal. The cole slaw is ok. The bread was too doughy, but maybe it was just that batch. Overall, I like this place over the Marketplace. They gave us a 10% annual pass discount and 10% military discount so the bill was around $50. read more

So 4th of July, Stone Mtn is probably the place to be for fireworks in GA. We arrived at the park around 8:00 AM, and spent the day. Walking by the place a few times, we noticed that there was a line out the door, and people waiting, so we asked about reservations. Apparently, no reservations were being done on the 4th. Then it came time to eat, so we asked for a table for 5 (3 adults and 2 kids). Wait time was 20 minutes. Was told that we would receive a text. Never received a text. We asked if we were able to wait inside, and was told to wait outside. It was raining outside with thunder and lightning strikes both visible and audible. There was no room under the porch, so we waited in the rain on a bench. 40 minutes later, I go in and ask what was taking so long, and they said that they were able to seat us now. As I walk in, I noticed that there were maybe 20-30 individuals waiting outside, equating to around 6 tables or so. There were approximately 25 or so empty tables inside. I counted maybe 6 waiters/waitresses, one manager, and visibly I could see a cook or two walking around in the customer area. Sweet Tea seemed to be sweetened with honey, which is ok for some people, but remember that southerners prefer a little bit of iced tea with their sugar, not too much though. You are in a park that celebrates the South. You should definitely serve southern iced tea... There were drinks on the one-page menu that were apparently not being served that day (rootbeer, etc). Not sure if they ran out of syrup or what the deal was. Presentation of the food was horrible. Obviously rushed, and not thought through. We ordered 4 orders of country-fried steak and had about 3 different plate settings for those meals. Sides were different, and no one ordered anything with bbq sauce with the exception of baked beans being the closest. The sides of one of the "skillet-plates" was covered in partially dried BBQ sauce. White gravy used on the steaks was bland. We covered the steaks with pepper and still had to add salt to taste. Baked beans had a grainy texture, and none of the sides used the same sides plate. Some were round, and some were plopped directly on the "skillet-plate". Utensils were not given until after we received our food and asked for them repeatedly. Butter knives were given for cutting through country-fried steak. Difficult to work with as the meat wasn't exactly tender. The quality of the food was ok, not terrible, but not seasoned and obvious presentation skills were lacking. Still not what I would want to pay $13.99 per plate for. Service was disorganized, and waitresses commonly forgot what we were asking for. We were seated at around 6:00 hoping to make it to one more attraction before it closed at 8:00. We were not able to leave the restaurant until 8:30. After speaking to a manager, we were told that the reason they didn't seat people was that they wanted to make sure that the cooks had enough food prepared for everyone in the restaurant. How are they able to predict what we are ordering? Or are they pre-preparing food before it is ordered? Notes to management: Think about the situation and organize yourself better. You have future neurosurgeons and other very bright people working for you. Can this be an opportunity for team leaders to delegate certain responsibilities to? Think about whether or not a customer would rather sit outside in the thunder and rain rather than sitting inside where it's warm and dry, waiting for food. Think about whether or not it makes more sense to take a bit of time and cook things freshly rather than have a horrible presentation that's pieced together at the last minute. Becoming efficient shouldn't be accomplished by controlling how many people come into the restaurant. Think about how your restaurant fits within the park. People need a place to rest their feet after a day's worth of walking. Telling them to go wait outside just adds insult to injury. Save a few seats near the front for people to sit and at least have a cold glass of water at. read more

This star rating is apt: I've experienced better at a theme-park-style restaurant. Even though Stone Mountain isn't a theme park, this restaurant makes you feel like you're at one. The decor is cheesy and definitely appreciated by small children and old folks. The service is SUPER SLOW because they're constantly full and super busy. It took at least 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and take drink orders and another 10 for those drinks to come back and our food orders to be taken. Food was OK, as is to be expected in a place like this. Standard fare includes frozen chicken fingers, frozen french fries, pre-packaged salads, etc. Nothing tasted awful, it's just the same stuff I can heat up in my own oven. Everything here was so slow that I almost would have rather eaten at a 'restaurant' in the Magic Kingdom. The food quality is the same but the service is faster. Sigh. Go off-site if you can wait for food. It's a cute, kitschy place to eat but it's not actually worth a stop if you're not starving to death like we were. read more

We had a very nice family dinner here. Five adults and three children and everyone left satisfied. The two orders of country fried steak and red skinned mashed potatoes included a fresh nicely sautéd green bean side. Two orders of Mac n cheese were outstanding. The chicken tenders were moist, flavorful and fresh. The kids cheeseburger was very good. Two orders of quesadillas hit the spot. One chicken and one vegetarian. My only complaint was the price $140 (after tip). That's somewhat to be expected in a theme park but it still stings. The drinks are $4 each for adult meals. Eating here during the Christmas holidays is a tradition for my family. A tradition I love. After viewing the wonderful Christmas lights and taking in all the great shows and activities that are offered during the Stone Mountain Christmas festival, We close the night out with a dinner at Campfire Grill. The food is delicious. I usually order the Coca-Cola ribs with the vegetable medley and it is always good. My daughters order chesseburgers or macaroni or chicken tenders and they love it. My wife has ordered various items from the menu and always enjoys it. The wait time for food is somewhat longer than normal but not unbearable. This is a wonderful place. read more

Do not waste your time or money. Food was mediocre at best and not worth the price tag. They have a text service to let you know when your table is ready which is good for you but bad for them since we had to use it to confirm with the manager that it took 37 minutes just to get our drinks. After being seated it took 23 minutes for the girl to great us. We ordered drinks and food at the same time to make up for the time but they never were delivered until we asked for a manager. Have to say that the waitress handled our complaining well and the manager returned promptly with our order.... Although it was drinks, salad and food all at the same time. Manager was very nice and did discount our ticket but still wasn't worth the hassle. Didn't get their famous hand tossed rolls until after we finished eating and had to ask again for them. After complaining we realized that this is the norm here, that's why the waitress and manager handled our complaints so well. They expect folks to complain. Table behind us also complained several times. Table across from us complained about their food although I couldn't hear what was wrong. Food is not real, meaning I could tell it was instant or frozen. For the price we expected good food. Only advantage was that we got to sit in the air conditioning instead of in the Georgia heat while we waited. Stone Mountain doesn't offer any great food in the park so eat before you go! read more

One of our favorite places to eat when we are at Stone Mountain and want to take a break. The fried pickles are delicious and they usually arrive in just a couple of minutes. Our favorite is the country fried steak but we have sampled other items and not been disappointed. The s'mores dessert is pretty tasty as well. Highly recommemded. read more

Spend your money elsewhere! My family have been Stone Mountain Park members for years. We ate here a few years ago and I remember it being quite bad. We made the decision this year to give them another try, because we were starving and "how bad could it be?". I find most employees at Stone Mountain to be extremely friendly and great at their jobs, but not in this building. All of the ladies in the restaurant that we saw look like they hate their job and make you feel very unwelcome, like they are going to talk sh*t about you the second you are out of sight. While we were at our table I was shocked to hear my 7 year old son say "that lady in the front looks like she doesn't want to be here". When a child takes notice, you know it's bad. Our waitress was also never seen again after she brought us our food. The food is overpriced, which is to be expected inside a park. The portion size and quality of food is quite bad. The only food item that was slightly edible were my sons cold chicken tenders which we could have purchased at the Marketplace Food Court. Save yourself $60 and don't go here! read more

Just want someone to be aware of the lousy service we received yesterday at the Campfire Grill. The service was about the worst I have ever experienced. Just walking in all the tables were covered with dirty dishes. Not just a couple but many. We sat down at a fable and waited about 15 minutes for a waitress and she wanted to know if she could get us anything else. Hell we didn't even have drinks or anything. Finally got someone to take our order. After another 15 minutes we got our food but had no silverware yet. I ask 4 people for silverware and finally asked for a manager a girl got 2 sets for 3 people in our party after our good was cold. No one there gave a crap about their job. Must not have been a manager in site to view this mess. Dirty, bad service and cold food but the food may have been hot when served. I would have expected so much more from a park with such class. Don't know what happened this time as when we were there in Sept it was a great experience. A $5 happy meal would have been so much better. read more

I have never had such horrible service in my life. I don't even know where to begin For starters, when our waitress finally brought our appetizer, she did not bring silverware, napkins or plates. We asked her for them, and she still never brought them. Then our entrees came from a different waitress, and we asked her for the silverware and plates and she apologized and then we waiting longer, with our plates getting cold in front of us. She NEVER brought them, so I got up and went to the hostess stand, and told them. Still nothing ever came. I asked 5 PEOPLE over the course of about 20 min of our entrees and appetizers on the table. The table next to me had the same problem. Finally, the manager was informed and she saved the day. She gave us 20% off the bill and a free desert. My family and I ate here with some friends. The food was okay. The service was terrible. It took fifteen minutes to get drinks. We ordered our food and waited an incredibly long time. My friends decided not to wait for the food ater 45 minutes had passed after ordering. They told the waitress to cancel their order and they went to eat cheap pizza. After we ate, we got our check and realized we'd been saddled with both of my friends' meals. The waitress said there was nothing she could do. We never saw our waitress after our food was delivered & I had to ask someone else for drink refills. My main complain is when it came time to pay our bill. I handed our waitress my debit card & our bill & when she came back with the paper to sign all it had on it was: $93.06 due with a tip line under that & a sign line under that. Without thinking (tip of $18+ was already included in the $93.06, I wrote down another $10 on the tip line = $103.06 & signed the bill. It wasn't until after we got outside and away from restaurant that I realized my mistake & by that time too late. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT I THINK OUR WAITRESS SHOULD HAVE INFORMED ME WHEN I GOT THE PAPER TO SIGN TO DISREGARD THE TIP LINE AS THE TOTAL ALREADY INCLUDED THEIR TIP!!!!!
