I cannot think of enough to say about this company. I adore it. They are amazing and how they get so many different dogs so many different breeds that all hang out like they do is amazing. Everybody on the staff is so nice and friendly and the dogs just love them. It really warms your heart. I totally recommend this company for doggy daycare. It is the absolute best. I pull up the live stream and watch him play and interact with all the other dogs and it makes me feel good. When my dog is home at night, he is beat. This company has really helped my life. My dog started going here at 5-6 months old and has been enjoying camp run-a-mutt for over a year now. It is one of her favorite places to go and enjoys all the staff. She gets excited when I say "Do you want to go to camp?" she get very excited and knows the whole drive from the house to camp where she is going. When we arrive Holly and her team are just wonderful and know Ember. They know what she likes and she is always so excited to see them. At the end of the day, she is so tired from her fun day socializing that she is ready to come home and relax. We absolutely love this day care. All the staff are great and always each to reach via phone if we have any questions. We take both of our huskies here and they are always so excited to go inside. Although the packages are expensive, they do save money at the end and are absolutely worth it. If you are looking for a good day care/ boarding, we highly recommend this facility. For boarding, we have had zero issues. Our dogs eat very specific raw food and the staff have followed all of our instructions and will even ensure to provide them their vitamins/supplements. We fully trust everyone at this facility to take care of our huskies and never feel stressed when we go on trips! I would say the only "con" is the pond they have that our huskies absolutely love and they are very stinky afterwards but at least I know they had a lot of fun! :) read more

RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL STAFF, RULES AND CHARGES ALWAYS CHANGING. RESERVATIONS BEING CANCELED FOR NO REASON. My wife and I have been boarding our dog here for about 7 years. We have had nothing but positive experiences every time we took him there... up until this year. Out of the blue they started demanding that we take our dog in for temperament test every time before boarding him, we thought this was weird because he has been going there for so long and have never had any negative feedback from staff on his behavior save for when he was a puppy doing stupid puppy stuff. We were planning on boarding him on thanksgiving for a few days while we went out of town but all that changed when we got a new puppy unexpectedly. This is also when our experiences with Camp Run A Mutt changed. I called in to ask Molly about the requirements for boarding our new puppy. Basically she needed to be over a certain age...I think it was 10 weeks and have her shots and do a temperament test. I scheduled her shots to be completed on 11/17 and then I called and scheduled her a test for the 18th. In between calling and getting all the info Molly took it upon herself to call our vet and decided our new dog would not have her shots in time. She then canceled our reservation we had made for our first dog in June and for our new puppy and the called my wife after it was already canceled and said they would not be able to board her or do her test. I then called her to figure out what she was taking about and why she decided to call our vet herself. I then called our vet and verified that our dog would indeed have her shots in time and I had them send us an up to date shot record and confirmed that she would be finished by 11/17. Wednesday brought her in for her test yesterday on 11/18. Upon arrival with my shot records and rabies certificate in hand the person who was working there very rudely told me "per Molly's directions" they would not be able to do our dogs test because her shots weren't going to be in time. To which I responded "Molly is wrong" and showed them the shot records. She then unwillingly took my dog back and demanded that I stay there for a while before we left. I was in a hurry and I told them we needed to be somewhere else. After about 10 minutes the staff member said she was ok, and we left. Upon returning we were told that we had to pay for the temperament test which is always referred to as a "free day of play" i said I thought it was free. Then the staff member who was different from the one before looked at me and said "I don't know I just work here" as I looked over the price sheet it says nowhere that the test is $20. She then went and got my dog and said "because it was 2 hours THIS time we won't charge you" like she was doing me a favor. She also gave me her "report card" and l said my dog was nervous and that maybe we should bring her back once before our boarding we had scheduled for Thursday to Friday for both our dogs and said "maybe Sunday because there are less dogs" to which I responded that I didn't have time but I could bring them both Tuesday thinking that if I bought both dogs the puppy might be more comfortable. And then we got a phone call tonight... I'm assuming from the rude staff member from the check in called my wife and said they had been checking their list for Thursday and they decided they were not going to board either of my dogs. She also informed my wife that they made this decision because we did not bring her back today and we needed to bring her back every day before the boarding on Thursday. And that she may still not be ready. First of all this is just a ridiculous cash grab... secondly that was never told to us. I was told that it might be a good idea to do it once. The staff member then scolded my wife for getting another dog and said that she was "taking away from the staff" when my wife asked why the rules keep changing. If you charge for the tests now then you need to have that on your sheet. Out of everything the fact that they canceled the reservation for the dog that has been going there for 7 years and is ridiculous. The worst part is Molly was "excited" for a new puppy. I've have nothing but positive interactions with Molly who is the owner and I want to believe she doesn't know how rude her staff is but the way this whole situation has been handled makes me think that this is how their staff is trained to treat customers they for what ever reason don't want to deal with. read more

We did a temper check today and left our little guy (7 months and 18lbs) for the afternoon. We watched him all day on the webcam and he was living his best life with the other pups! UPDATE: We called the following day to ask to see the footage and were told the cameras don't record (convenient). We asked for an explanation as to why our dog has bite marks on his lips, ears, throat and arms and got nothing other than he must have but himself in the lip when he was trying to bite the other dogs. The story did change from him attacking 2 different dogs to him attacking the same dog twice and they claim he was not bitten which is a flat out lie because our vet examined him immediately after his time at the facility. All I know is that his behavior has changed dramatically in the last 2 days and he is constantly crying. It breaks my heart to think of what could have happened to traumatize him to this extent. How have I not reviewed this place?? It's a God send. We have a Boston Terrier and a Bulldog, both pups literally squeak with anticipation when I pull into the parking lot. I typically take them for a half day (6 hours) when I just need a break or I know they they are due some social time. Customer service is exceptional, they always seem excited to see my boys which brings me oodles of comfort. They also have a camera system so I can look in from time to time to see how they are doing. The cameras aren't the best but they work well enough to let me spy periodically. I have utilized their boarding as well as day care. I'd recommend all of it. They come home completely zonked and sometimes stay pooped through the next day. It's glorious. I feel blessed to have a place I can utilize on a whim rather than trying to schedule in advance. I love this place. read more

I have an emotionally sensitive dog, I know this because I initially tried a different doggy day care closer to my work in Mission Valley for a couple of days and he emotionally shut down after the second day. The sadness in his eyes broke my heart. I thought maybe he just wasn't a good candidate for doggy day care. But, then I tried Camp Run-A-Mutt East County and it was a complete opposite reaction! He LOVES it there! The owners and employees really care about the dogs in their care and it shows in so many ways! One time, Elton's poop was really dark and they took note and let me know. He got sprayed two times in one day by a skunk and I couldn't take him to work so I dropped him off there and they bathed him with a de-skunking solution and sent him home with a complementary new dog collar! Overnights are great! He loves staying there when I leave town because they don't kennel the dogs (he doesn't like being in a kennel). I feed him a weird mix of things because of his digestive issues, they follow the instructions to a T. It's so wonderful to know that Camp Run-A-Mutt has our back, I've dropped him off during family emergencies, vacations, classes, etc. and I know each time that he will be cared for and loved. After taking my dog to Camp Run-A-Mutt for 2 years, we were told recently he cannot come back. We were taking him pretty regularly and then we didn't need to take him for about 6 months. When we returned, we were told he needed another "behavior assessment" because it had been so long since he had been there. We dropped him off for the day and when we picked him up we were told he cannot come back because he was playing too rough with one other dog. This was the only incident he had ever had at daycare. It was pretty frustrating as he had always had such good experiences there. I also never liked that the entire facility smelled heavily like dog pee, which makes me think they aren't keeping it very clean. We had a great start but a really bad ending here. read more

I will start by saying, I could go on for an hour about Molly, Mike and the staff at Camp Run-A-Mutt. What a fantastic place and people here. I was in search of a doggy day care out in the east county prior to my visit here from Arizona. Being that I was going to be here for 2 weeks with my 2 girls helping my elderly parents I knew I had to keep the younger one Violet (7 mos) busy during the day. When I first pulled up, I absolutely loved the cool look, atmosphere and decor here. It is in this warehouse type area off of Marshall/Palm and you walk in and I felt like I was taking my kid to some awesome kindergarten for the day! The place is very open, super clean and cute, all the pups get little cubbies when they are there with their names on it. After they did the assessment on Violet, I was given the tour and I gotta tell you this place is top notch, colorful and if I were a dog I would totally want to come here. Apart from the play areas (they have a pond, agility stuff, etc), the boarding area where the dogs sleep at night is like a super large bedroom in someones home where they stay/sleep with your dogs overnight. After taking Violet here for two days, and my other older dog Petunia (8 years old) giving me sad eyes when we would leave without her... I decided to get her assessed as well. On the tail end of recovery from TPLO surgery I was concerned about her getting too crazy during the day having fun. Mike/Molly made sure that I felt comfortable that they would keep an eye on her and give her little breaks when needed. She loves this place as much as Violet and actually did not seem to even want to leave when I picked her up the other day. They also have webcams if you like to give yourself some day time entertainment by seeing what all the fur babies are up to. Our two week visit is coming to an end, and my girls are going to miss this place for sure. Given I will be traveling back and forth between AZ and San Diego for the next few months I can most certainly say we will be back on our next trip out. read more

We went on vacation for 2 weeks and this was the first time leaving our fur baby for that long. I was hesitant to leave her at a doggie boarding place, especially for that long. However, Camp Run A Mutt was great and very informative with any questions and concerns I had. They had Maddie stay for one day for camp to make sure she got along with the other pups. My baby girl went a few times and then I asked for a grooming while she was there for the day. When I got her I was mortified to see they chopped the top of her head where we were growing it out and I would put bows in her tiny ponytail. I mentioned it several times and no one seemed to really care! She has been back a couple of times for camp but no grooming. Today I asked for just a bath (no grooming) my husband picked her up and I have a hard time seeing that she was bathed, so I called and even asked.....they said yes and seemed annoyed I called. Referred to this business from a police canine instructor and without any disappointment. The staff are attentive and love animals, the prices are fair and Scooter loves the place. No dog lover wants to leave his loved one at home alone. Scooter has plenty of buddies to hang with and he can even cool off in the pond. First and foremost the staff are awesome. Sadly on Monday was my amstaff blue nose last day here. She's been going there since she was a puppy. She is 2 years old. We spent thousands of dollars having her in daycare, weekend stays etc. On Monday I was notified that I was going to get a 14 dollar extra charge on top of my 40 per day because maya ( my puppy) rolls in poop almost daily. My first question was how long are you guys keeping the poop out there for. 2nd question was maybe I can get an extra charge but 14 was way too much. Where is the loyalty and the connection I thought they had with maya. Now I believe that they only care about the money. Sadly most businesses do and don't take loyalty in consideration. read more
