Hendricks and tonic
Courtney B.

If you've ever been to The Crossover in Cedar Park, this place feels like its Georgetown cousin, same energy, same "bring the whole family and let the kids run wild" vibe, just a little more tucked away. I only stopped in for a drink, but the bartender was quick, efficient, and didn't give me that "I'm too busy to acknowledge you" look that some places love to serve before the actual drink. I ordered a double Hendrick's and tonic, and it was poured correctly: crisp, botanical, and strong enough that I knew I wasn't getting the "light‑handed lunchtime pour." No complaints there. What really stood out wasn't the drink, though -- it was the scene. Camp Briteside has this big outdoor turf area, and while I was there, it felt like a ghost of ten different activities happening at once. One corner had an impromptu soccer game, in another corner, there was beard contest taking place (don't ask me what the rules were -- I'm still trying to figure it out), and the rest of the space was filled with families, laughter, and people just hanging out like it was a neighborhood block party. It's definitely a spot built for groups -- birthday parties, team gatherings, family meetups, all of that. I've heard they host parties of 20 or more pretty regularly, and honestly, the space makes sense for it. It's casual, open, and easy to navigate. Now, would I come here on my own just for a drink? Probably not. It's a bit out of the way, and it's the kind of place that shines when there's an invite, an event, or a reason to be there. But if someone said, "Hey, we're meeting at Camp Briteside," I wouldn't hesitate to show up with a drink order ready. Overall, it's a solid hangout spot -- family‑friendly, group‑friendly, and perfect for those who like their social time with a side of organized chaos. #supportlocal

Great happy hour wing prices. Decent burger and plenty of screens to catch any game going on. Friendly staff and quick service.

The pros: super cute decor & plenty of activities for the family! Interesting menu. The cons: Really slow service from the kitchen. Our waitress was fast & efficient, but the kitchen was not. The food was ok, but I've never been served a Patty melt where the bread was toasted, not grilled. Is it even a Patty melt if it's not grilled??? There were plenty of open tables, but they stuck us right next to the kitchen door. That was somewhat annoying. I think Camp Briteside is a really cool concept, and it can get back on track with some work. It would also be cool if there was some kind of S'mores dessert option!

We went on a double date on a Thursday night. It was so busy, they were on a wait. Adorable decor/ theme. When we did get seated I have to say the service was incredibly slow. Both the bartender and our server were very nice, but we waited nearly an hour and a half to eat. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I ordered the chicken sandwich with pimento cheese, bacon, and slaw. I would order it again in a heartbeat. The onion rings were perfect. My husband liked his smash burger a lot too. We had a really good time. I would absolutely bring the family back to play outside.

Memberships available with great perks.

Camp Brightside is an awesome family destination. The food is great, cold drinks and entertainment for adults and kids. Great staff. It was slammed when they opened and service was a not fast food fast, but not terrible. They have changed the ordering process and is awesome now. A must try!

Our introduction to the menu let alone the establishment put me right at a family function. 90's jams playing in the background with a few games on if your a sports person. i ordered the chicken wing dinner with yams and okra. My big guy ordered the swai with red bean and rice & mean greens. Mac n cheese & shrimp egg rolls from recommendation! Drink options were plentiful and homemade also! Wait time wasn't extreme since we can on a tuesday afternoon. Now he wasn't lying when we were told ANYTHING we get on the menu would be good. I trusted him with my gut immediately after he said it. Everything was so divine. So clean and flavorful. i love my cornbread sweet so that was a superrr plus for me. He even brought over grits for us to try & that jawn was so creamy. I mean I was completely blown away. Naturally I needed something sweet so we doubled back for the peach cobbler STRAIGHT OUT THE OVEN & red velvet cookies.. yall please, we loved it here. Name did it justice, food will indeed touch the sweetest part of your soul.

The atmosphere was nice! Great music, beautiful setup, and an overall cool vibe. The food presentation was appealing for the most part, so I was excited to dig in. We ordered the oxtails over rice, okra, macaroni and cheese, catfish, pork chop, and a chicken wing. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. Before even tasting the oxtails, I noticed an unusual fatty substance surrounding the meat. Once I tasted it, the flavor reminded me more of ham hock than traditional oxtails. The catfish also had an unfamiliar taste that wasn't what I expected from catfish. The seasoning was inconsistent. Some bites were overly salty, while others were actually delicious. The macaroni and cheese was okay, but nothing memorable. Now, that ONE chicken wing? Delicious! My husband and I split it, and ironically, it ended up being the best thing we tasted. What really disappointed me was the customer service when I tried to resolve the issue. After tasting the oxtails and catfish, I approached the staff and politely asked whether I could exchange the dish for something else, even offering to pay the difference. I wasn't asking for free food. I simply wanted something I could enjoy. I was told they don't allow substitutions. Instead, I was offered MORE of the same oxtails I had just explained I didn't like. When I clarified that I wanted a different dish, I was told nothing could be done because I had already eaten from the plate. Well, of course I tasted it! How else would I know whether I liked it? At that point, I simply said okay and walked out. The food has that homemade, straight-from-somebody's-kitchen quality, but unfortunately, that also came with inconsistent seasoning and flavors that didn't work for me. For a restaurant receiving this much attention, I expected more than a nice atmosphere and one delicious chicken wing. I expected quality, consistency, and customer service that made me want to return. I understand restaurants have policies, but there's a difference between someone trying to get something for free and a paying customer genuinely trying to find something on the menu they can enjoy. The atmosphere was great. The chicken was delicious. Everything else, including how my concerns were handled, left me disappointed. Would I recommend it? Not based on my experience. TikTok brought me through the door, but the food and customer service didn't give me a reason to come back.

The website paints a picture of a beach‑side getaway: easygoing, flavorful, relaxed. That's exactly why our visit felt so mismatched. My partner and I ordered the Perfect Storm sampler and 10 bone‑in wings, split between Garlic Ginger and Garlic Parm. The wings came mixed with flats and drums, which was fine, but both flavors were so greasy that we had to wipe them down before eating. And not just a little sheen -- I mean the kind of oiliness that dulls the seasoning and clings to your fingers. The Garlic Ginger had a nice aromatic profile underneath, but the fat muted it. The Garlic Parm leaned heavy, with the grease overshadowing any sharpness from the garlic or cheese. The sampler didn't fare much better. The fries were soggy and limp, the kind of texture that tells you the oil temperature dropped or the batch sat too long. The shrimp and mozzarella were edible, but lacked crispness -- everything felt weighed down instead of bright or crunchy. When fried food loses its structure, it loses its appeal, and that's exactly what happened here. From a food‑critic standpoint, the issue wasn't flavor -- it was technique. Grease is a symptom. It usually means the oil wasn't hot enough, the baskets were overloaded, or the fry time wasn't adjusted. When the oil temp drops, moisture stays trapped inside the food, and instead of crisping, it absorbs the fat. That's how you end up with wings that feel slick instead of snappy and fries that collapse under their own weight. And that's where the disconnect with the branding hits hardest. The website promises "hot and crispy wings with a 100% chance of cold, frothy beers," "jumbo‑sized wings," and "an escape from the ordinary." What we received felt more like a kitchen struggling to keep up -- heavy food, tired textures, and none of the crispness that defines good fried comfort food. The frustrating part is that the service was excellent. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind -- the kind of person who makes you feel taken care of before the food even arrives. But the kitchen execution didn't rise to meet that level. When the service is top‑tier and the food feels like an afterthought, the imbalance becomes impossible to ignore. Great people, but the food didn't match the promise or the care they put into the experience. We wouldn't return.
