Driving home from Ohio to South Carolina yesterday, we received a call from camp. Zoey (CBW staff member) began the conversation with, 'Stella is fine". She went on to tell me that they were concerned about something and thought we should know. Zoey offered to send a photograph but, I declined because we have such trust in CBW. There was absolutely nothing we could do because we were hours from home and wouldn't arrive until after closing. We have two emergency contacts on file, but we decided the issue was not that serious. I am a teacher and have had to call many parents to talk about one issue or another. I always begin the conversation with, 'Johnny is fine'. It sounds like a small detail, but it's really a very big deal! We picked up Stella early this morning and she is perfectly fine. Zoey happened to be back on duty and we discussed the possibilities regarding her concern. Again, she took the time to speak to us with care. This is my pups home away from home. He loves going to camp to play with his fellow campers and staff! He has been boarded at this location about 3 times. This last time they called me to report he wasn't feeling well. Bear gets anxiety when away from me too long. So his upset stomach started acting up! Camp Bow Wow experienced helpers monitored him and kept me informed. By the time I returned from my trip Bear was already back to his normal self. No walk ins. The parking lot is dangerous and only wide enough for one car but you must park in that same narrow area. The manager refused my dog but also refused to speak with me as to why. My dog has been going to dog camps in 3 different states for 10 years and never had an issue until today. I now need to drive to Avondale 45 minutes away. Zero stars. read more

I could write a raving review for Camp Bow Wow every day - everyone there is fantastic. Like the other people here I love the friendly owners and staff, the webcam, the theme days, and the tired puppies that I get at the end of a visit. I also like that they keep us informed of any safety concerns (like recently taking temps due to a doggie cold/flu outbreak) and that the staff is just as excited to see my pups as they are to be there. I especially appreciated the time when I was at the airport and needed a last minute overnight. CBW helped out and gave me peace of mind in a pinch and saved my trip. It is finally time I leave a review for my 80 lbs Bernedoodle, Marshall's favorite place. I have heard nightmare about doggy daycare or overnight boarding places, so I did quite a bit of research and settled on Camp Bow Wow. Marshall had his introductory day and passed with flying colors. They do a great job with safely evaluating a dogs personality, confidence and comfort in being in a high energy dog environment. They introduce them at the pace the dog is comfortable with and give them a great first experience. Marshall now attends for half days Tuesdays and Thursdays since about summer. He would prefer every day, but ya know... bills in 2020... Marshall meets me at the door every morning excitedly hoping its the day to go to Camp. He walks into Camp legitimately exploding with excitement. He is a well trained polite boy, but he cant contain himself at camp. All the staff know him and greet him so nicely (though he does have a few favorites). You can really tell that every single person that works there LOVES dogs. The owners are present and personable as well and its also apparent they are truly dog people! During play there is always a staff member present to supervise, watch for when a dog might have had too much play, that they're drinking water, for any injuries, and if a dog needs a break. They truly get to know every dogs personality and watch who their favorite doggy friends are. This is the only place I would feel comfortable leaving Marshall overnight if needed. Sometimes I feel like he would rather live there. They do fun events like a Halloween costume contest, summer water park days, and now a snow day for the holidays. Super clean facilities, friendly staff, an outdoor water feature, and other dog butts? It's basically paradise! (for dogs). Whether it's just a day of play or an extended overnight stay, our pup Daisy is happy when she goes in and happy when she comes out. And she is ALWAYS worn out! We've had great experiences at this location every time, as well as the Agoura Hills/California location. They seem to really love and care for all the dogs...we trust CBW and never worry about Daisy while she's there. Camp Bow Wow also offers a live video stream in each of the play areas--outdoor, indoor, etc--where you can watch your dog in action (although the one time I tried to view, the connection was pretty spotty/slow/delayed... not sure if that's a them-issue, or me-issue). I also appreciate that all dogs must "pass" an interview to ensure that they all play nicely together and get along well with others when a new family signs up. Their pricing is pretty competitive, and the check-in/out process is usually very quick but thorough. Great communication and customer service all the time. They handled all my questions and concerns with patience and the utmost professionalism. My pup LOVES CBW Phoenix! Whenever we pull into the parking lot he sits up and immediately starts wagging his tail. He pulls me to the door and gets so excited when the counselors greet him, he particularly loves Avery, who is amazing! They do great enrichment with him and whenever I check up on him during the day through the cameras he always looks like he's having a great time. My negative experiences here are few and far between, and if anything does happen they go out of their way to make it right. I also love that I can buy packages that don't expire so most days I can drop him off and pick him up without having to stop and pay. The icing on the cake -- they do an interview day to ensure each dog is properly suited for the daycare environment and ensure that all pups are up to date on their vaccines (the vet tech in me is a sucker for that ). My dog and I like this place so much that when we move out to Glendale next month I might keep making the drive to Phoenix just for daycare, highly recommend! read more

I love Camp Bow Wow, but more importantly, my dog Parlay loves it! On mornings that we go, when I say "are you ready for camp?" she goes crazy--and when we arrive, she rushes in to see all of her friends (both two-legged and four-legged). I am a first time dog mom, and was nervous about leaving her. The staff was so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The interview day put my mind completely at ease and I am so thankful to have a great place for her to go when I have long work days. Camp Bow Wow is amazing! We boarded our dogs here for the first time recently because we were doing an international trip and would be gone for two weeks. I was very anxious about leaving our two little pups anywhere for two weeks, much less somewhere new to us. We've used other similar boarding places and dog sitters over the past several years of living in the area, but have had very mixed and often disappointing experiences. Camp bow wow has been a wonderful experience though from beginning to end. In the beginning, they did the normal screening process prior to boarding, that other places typically do, where you do day care for at least a day and they watch the dogs to check for their comfort and behavioral signals. They have you stay for the first 30 min and watch on a screen with them as they bring them into the all day play area on their own with employees and then with other dogs as well to make sure the behavior was a good fit as well. If they pass those initial screenings they stay for the rest of the time doing day care. When we went through that initial process these were some of the things I noticed most. First, the place was extremely clean and didn't have that lingering dog urine smell that other facilities try to mask with candles and sprays in the lobby. Second, everyone I interacted with, even when very young, was incredibly professional, organized and friendly (this is something I've seen other very similar local places struggle with a lot). And lastly, whenever checking in on the cameras the employees in the actual play rooms did make an effort to both give any of the dogs some individual attention and try to keep the place clean. That was all just from the initial day care session. When we actually boarded them, they were very communicative, reassuring and flexible with us. At one point, they even emailed us (we didn't have cell service) to let us know that they noticed a lump on one of our dog's chests and wanted to make sure we knew about it. This was something we'd already had checked with the vet and knew was fine, but the fact that they noticed that told me our dogs were getting actual good care and attention and that they were professional enough to make that known to us. When we picked our dogs up all of their bedding and toys were very clean and our dogs seemed so happy and tuckered out (not frantic and stressed). Based on the experience we had, I would definitely recommend this business and we'll absolutely be using them going forward. Had 2 dogs there for boarding for 4 nights/5 days. It was great to able to watch the dogs during the day with the different camera options at random times and we did that often throughout their stay. They always had supervision in each area that dogs were with maybe 10-15 dogs per person in the area just walking around. If you're looking for anyone to do anything more than walk around and watch the dogs so they don't get into squabbles (which mine did) then it's the place for you. If you want your dog to get pet AT ALL or any attention at any point the time then it's not the place for you. We watch numerous times at random times during the day for a good amount of time and say a total of ONE dog get pet the whole time. They played some water spraying with the tennis ball but nothing more than that. Not the right fit if your dog likes any attention other than from other dogs. Not ideal or conducive for boarding. Hands down the best doggie daycare we've found. The facility is impeccably clean and they have both indoor and outdoor space so your pup doesn't have to do his business indoors (although I'm pretty sure I saw my dog relieve himself in the indoor space once...I was not impressed). And cameras! You can virtually pop in anytime to see which camp counselor your dog has chosen as a target for face jumping, and if it's bad enough, send your spouse to pick him up so you avoid the humiliation. Because, let me tell you, the dogs have so much fun, any training they've had is out the window. They also offer grooming services! I'm not sure if there's an actual groomer on staff, but you can definitely get a wash, nail trim, etc. And boarding, of course. My pup gets highly stressed when boarded, so we've only used that service a couple times, but they were very thorough in ensuring he got his medications on schedule. I boarded at another play and stay facility once for an extended period and he came home with leftover food that wasn't his and a few extra pills that were missed. So I very much appreciate Camp Bow Wow's efforts to make sure your dog gets everything they need. Finally, I have to compliment the counselors. They are the best out there! Their love of dogs comes thru. I've seen mine annoyingly jump in someone's face only to have that same person love on him minutes later. They are there for the dogs. You will not see them spend their shift on their phone, ignoring dogs and cleanup. And some of the counselors have been there for quite a long time, maybe since they opened. I just moved to Phoenix for work and needed a quality day care facility for my Cavalier King Charles, Maisie.... and I found it! I love the cameras and having the access to check in on her any time of the day. The reason I'm writing this review is because I'm so thankful for the staff and their communication. I had to work late in Prescott Valley and was afraid I would not be on time to pick Maisie up before they closed resulting in me having to board her for the night. Natalie and another employee (I did not catch her name) put me at ease and stayed until I was able to pick her up. Staff was super friendly, kind and knowledgeable. They communicated with us well in the days leading up to our first visit. Neither of my fur babies had ever been to camp or day care previously and I was super nervous to leave them as they're both rescues with a little bit of separation anxiety. And lets be real, I was super nervous to leave my fur children in a new place with people we don't really know. The staff was so excited to meet them and made me feel really confident leaving them for their first day at camp. I watched the cameras often to check in on them and to make sure they were having fun, which they were. As I was watching on the cameras, another dog was picking on my youngest and they were able to read the body language and de-escalate the situation without incident by removing the other dog. This was such great reassurance that they are able to see any issues and resolve them quickly. We'll be using them for day camp and boarding in the future and feel very comfortable doing so. The other dogs were barking like crazy and my dog was looking at me like" get me out of here! I'm scared!" I do dog training with my dog and it doesn't take a brain scientist to know that dogs DO NOT LIKE LOUGH NOISE AND MUSCIC. I explained that to the staff and front desk and they had no plans on turning off that music and take care of dogs like Professionals do. I will be talking to corporate and the owner of this establishment. My dog has never been aggressive like this. I'm glad I went back there to see what happened. Honestly I would give this place no stars considering they did nothing for my dog Teddy. My miniature Australian shepherd is almost four years old and we moved here from California a few weeks ago. He went to a similar daycare back home and has never had any problems with other dogs. With the great reviews here I thought I would bring him in for his temperament test and leave him there for the day while I moved into my new place. I assumed there would be no problems but the two young girls that evaluated him said that he was "too aggressive" and that he "failed the test". The women at the front desk did nothing but said I could bring him back to get evaluated another day.. (Why would I do that?) I was shocked, sad, confused, and pretty angry). After this I waited a few weeks while considering other options for him while I was working. Thankfully I gave myself a good amount of time before I started work. I came across a new dogtopia (only a few months old) off McDowell close by the 10. Everyone there is super friendly and they had no problems with Teddy. I've waited almost a month to post this review because I wanted to gather all my thoughts. It's really unfortunate the way they treated my dog and I. My puppy Dunkin has been going to day camp here for about 6/7 weeks now and he loves it. He literally loses his mind when we pull into the parking lot. The staff is super friendly and they take really good care of the dogs. The facility is clean and I love the cameras to be able to see how's he's doing throughout the day. My sweet 75 lb puppy, Fifa, is treated with such love from all the staff at Camp Bow Wow every single day! Only wanting one dog and working full time left me in a pickle as to what to do with my baby girl. I used Wag for awhile but that still meant that she was crated the better part of the day. For a comparable price, Fifa, gets human attention, many furry friends to romp around the play areas, an outdoor splash pad, and I can watch her live on their video cams. Overall we're happy with Camp Bow Wow. The process of doing the interview was easy. The staff is very friendly and seems educated on dog behaviors. I like that the dogs can freely move between indoor and outdoor areas. They also have multiple camera views in each room which is nice. I think the "cabins" for boarding are larger than they are at a lot of places. The app makes it very easy to make a reservation. Our dogs were able to board together which I really appreciated. We did have one disappointment. It was the first time boarding for one of the dogs, and I think she got nervous at night because when she came home her upper lip was worn and inflamed. It looked like she had been doing some kind of repetitive behavior. I'm disappointed that no one noticed and/or mentioned this to us. When I called they said she may have been trying to open the gate at night. I don't think it's a behavior that could've been predicted, but I do think it should have been noticed. read more
