So I took Teddy for the first day interview and for him to try it out. For reference Teddy is 7 pounds and eight months old. They placed him with bigger dogs and was injuring on his first day. All i wanted was to take him to a place he would've had fun and be safe .Both his eyelids were cut, his leg and ear were bruised and when i picked him up they told me they couldnt tell me what happened until the manager came in the next day. I'm so heartbroken because Teddy after that was very sad and didn't wanna do anything for days. I took him to the vet the next day, which was $300 for treating his eyes. I told the manager at Camp bow that I was taking Teddy to the vet which she told me that she reviewed the cameras and Teddy was sitting on the corner and the dogs piled up on him. I told her Teddy is so small. He should've never been in with the big dogs and she agreed. that was all. Overall Teddy was hurt and traumatized and i am too. I boarded my dog at Camp Bow Wow the nights of 5/30/21 and 5/31/21. I picked her up on 6/1/21 and she was extremely tired and slept for a long time at home. Once she was awake the following day, I gave her a bath because the hair on her neck was matted and she stunk. While giving her a bath I discovered that she was injured all around her neck and that the matted hair was actually dried blood. I called Camp Bow Wow and spoke with an employee and told her what I discovered and expressed my concern. The employee said she would have her manager call me once he arrived. I spoke with Anthony, the Manager; he apologized that they missed my dog's injuries and would use this situation to better train his employees. He also offered me a free day of day care or a bath which I thought was weird and caught me off guard. Within a few days of having my dog home her wounds started to scab, but my dog was not acting like herself. I noticed that the wounds didn't look good and the scabs were pussing. I sent an email Friday night to Anthony with a video of her wounds and said that I was going to take her to the vet the next day and that I expected Camp Bow Wow to pay the vet bill. On my way to the vet's office on Saturday I spoke with Anthony and he said that they are not responsible and quoted part of the contract. I responded to him that there is also a part of the contract that says they have to provide my dog with veterinarian care if she is injured in their care, which she was, and he admitted that they missed it. At that point I knew I was getting nowhere with him and had him email me the owner's contact information. I got my dog antibiotics for her wounds. She didn't eat or have energy for several days and had Camp Bow Wow not missed it my dog would have received medical attention right away and she never would have gotten as bad as she did. read more

Unfortunately, when we tried to stay here, they were extremely inflexible and made us jump through numerous hoops just to stay then in the end, they wouldn't even honor our interview time. We sent our dog to Camp Bow Wow for the day to try out their day care services. Pros: The people working there love dogs. That much is clear. They welcomed our pup with open arms and were kind and loving towards her. That immediately set my mind at ease. It was also nice being able to watch the doggy cameras throughout the day to see how my pup was faring. She was safe the entire time. Cons: There wasn't much play or interaction with the dogs other than the odd pet here and there. We want more engagement and fun for our dog. For most of her stay, she sat by herself in the corner. Other times, she would follow the handler around for attention and didn't get much of it. I was hoping there would be more interaction and fun for our pup. Overall, my dog was safe and given water and bathroom access. In a pinch, we'd definitely use them again, however, this wasn't what we were looking for in a care facility. We appreciate the staff and their kindness for taking our dog for the day, though! read more

I have been using them for about two months now for both day care and boarding. It really does wonder for my little pup who has boundless energy. Yes I was a little worried about my pup getting too tired with constant day care every day while boarding but she adjusted great. I find them to be great people who seem to love the dogs. And I also find their prices to be reasonable when you consider that day care is included in boarding. All other places I checked with might have cheaper boarding prices but charge extra for day care and other extras. I'd rather have my dog running around all day freely versus stuck inside a kennel all day while I am away. read more

I have never had the pleasure of owning a dog who could go to a place like Camp Bow Wow because they've always been guard dog types and very protective but I finally have a puppy who loves other dogs and all people and so I took him for the first time to Camp Bow Wow earlier this week. I had my dog vaccinated for bordetella by my vet and they gave me paperwork that it was good for a year. It is due to expire in January 2023. However, Camp Bow Wow has this unique (and irritating) policy that won't allow dogs to board that haven't had injections as opposed to oral. We were catching a flight out of town and they refused to board our dog because he had an oral dose. We had to cancel our flight! The real kicker is that I called my vet who responded, "Since when do dog boarders override the medical decisions made by your vet!" Also, I called several other dog boarders in Scottsdale and they ALL agreed that the oral was just fine and that it does NOT expire in 6 months...as stated by Camp Bow Wow. Talk about petty rules and regulations that neither my veterinarian nor other dog boarders adhere to...save your time and PASS on Camp Bow Wow. read more

I'm pretty bummed out by my experience with Camp Bow Wow. I have used their facilities in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge and had the best experience. I was excited when a location opened up in North Scottsdale. I have a very active puppy who could benefit from daycare. I filled out the "camper application" and sent his vaccination records. I then responded to one of their standard form emails with our availability for an "interview." I never received a response. I've since called two times and left a message once and have still been unable to get ahold of anyone. I will be looking elsewhere for daycare services. read more

Very disappointed, I have a small dog and was informed there was a room just for small dogs , when I got there for my interview they put my puppy in with a very energetic large Australian Sheppard , then another large dog, I questioned this as my dog was very scared , the dogs were NOT separated into separate areas and when I questioned this they said "they don't have the money to pay extra staff". My dog sat by the door and was miserable, scared and there was nothing for him to do ! Too many dogs on one area , they looked bored and paced in circles , many sat by the door wanting to leave . If you're thinking about taking your energetic puppy here, don't. I brought my newly 4 month old puppy here for an evaluation for daycare and boarding. He was finally at the age to be around other dogs and was fully vaccinated, so of course he was we so excited to play. This interview lasted 2 minutes as they introduced my puppy (German Shepard mix) with a very small dog who was not going to tolerate puppy energy. The trainers remove my dog from the play area and say "he has too much energy. He needs more time to grow so he can be with the large dogs because he is too big to be with the small dogs." They said he was "body slamming" the other dog- I was literally watching on the TV, and that was not true. My dog was larger then your average 4 month old puppy, he was roughly 30 pounds and growing everyday. We had recently brought him to the dog park and he just ran around with the big dogs, even a Great Dane. He didn't have any issues. I even told them, please put him with the big dogs-but they are experts right?The worst part was we needed boarding ASAP as we had to leave town the next day and this was one place that had availability. I reached out to my friend who is a vet and said "no dog should ever be turned away for too much energy." I mean really? He is a puppy! Plus, this is why we pet owners take our dogs to daycare, to help socialize them. How else can he be around other dogs and learn how to play with them? He was excited to be with other dogs again. We left very disappointed. I was just baffled, and they really had no remorse for our urgent boarding needs. I miraculously found availability at exceptional pets. I was concerned about his "excess energy" but their response was "he is going to have a blast and run around with other dogs. We want to make sure he does well here for a few hours but I can tell he will do great!" And he did, we are so thankful for them. We now go to 24/7 dogs and he has a blast. I asked them about him being turned away due to his energy level and they too thought that was not fair and couldn't believe that happened. They would never turn a dog away for that reason, they said they would work with them and play one on one to help burn that puppy energy. At 24/7 dogs he gets to play all day, he never goes in a cage, and the most important part- he gets to socialize and be a dog! Very disappointed Camp Bow Bow. read more

The people are friendly, the facility looks good. But please know that they are very busy and do not pay attention to details. When I picked up my dogs after 5 nights stayover, they were supposed to be clean since I paid $86.00 for their wash and blow dry. I did explain carefully when I booked their stay that the must be blown dry because they coats will mat if not. The assured me with the utmost sincerity that they blow dry the dogs. Wrong! One of my dogs was okay, but the other was definitely not dried properly. I spent well over an hour today combing out the tangles. So, I called to get a refund. Finally the manager called but I was not at my phone. I called back for 3 hours and there was no answer. Finally, I got through and the manager was exceedingly rude and said "I do not do confrontations" and hung up on me. What?! Does he not know how to communicate with customers? Rather than being rude to me and hanging up on me, he ought to have apologized and showed some level of decency. read more
