We have used Camp Bow Wow twice now while we have been out of town. So far no complaints. The puppy cams are convenient in order to check up on our pup. It stays busy so there are lots of other furry friends to play with. There is always someone in the play yard (indoor leads to outside) supervising the dogs, and they are sure to clean up messes quickly. The dog pens are roomy enough with a slightly raised cot and you can bring your own blanket and toys so your pup feels at home. My little guy seems happy when I pick him up and doesn't show any signs of not wanting to be there when we take him so I think he likes it well enough. :) Update: This time once we got him home he started having diahrrea and vomiting. We had to take him to an animal hospital who said it was due to the stress of boarding. He was tested for parasites/worms and was clean, but they said it was a common thing for dogs to be stressed. :( ... just wanted to let other yelpers know. read more

My dog stayed here for a week. I provided his food and supplements. When I picked him up he was lethargic and had severe diarrhea. We ended up in emergency with a pancreatitis diagnosis and a 3 day hospital stay to keep him alive. I was never contacted by the camp to tell me he was ill or that he had eaten something he shouldn't have. read more

I normally don't leave reviews but thought I would considering some of the ridiculous poor reviews left. Tucker and Maya absolutely love Camp Bow Wow. Whenever we drive by, Tucker starts squealing of excitement in hopes that we pull into the parking lot - that's how you know they are treated well! We have done day care, training, and boarding there - multiple times up to 10 days of boarding. The day care is great since we work full time & helps to socialize them. They must treat their staff well because we have had the same people working there for 3 years. This helps create stability for our dogs (who adore the staff), and they know our dogs by name. We have recently moved to Allen, and still drive to Coppell to take our dogs here. We have never had a poor experience here & don't know what we would do without them! read more

Well, where do I start with my list of complaints? If I could give zero stars, I would. This is a business marketed as "premier dog care franchise," and heir prices certainly reflect it - $78/night for two dogs. A price my fiancee and I decided to take on for the promise of superior care for our fur babies. Over the last 8 months we have boarded the dogs for several nights no less than 5 times (costing several hundred dollars per stay). Every time we went to check the cameras to see our dogs in the indoor or outdoor play yards, they were nowhere to be found. The first few times, we figured it was a coincidence. As it started to happen more, I called to inquire and was always told, "oh, we just put them back for a rest," or "we are just rotating the dogs." Sure, that sounds plausible. Well, last weekend, during what will for sure be our dog's last stay at the facility, we tuned into the cameras to see nearly every dog in a single play yard, with the exception of our two dogs, who were isolated in a yard alone. When we called to find out why, we were told that one of our dogs had been aggressive with another dog. When my fiancee arrived to pick the dogs up, no incident report had been filed. When he was shown the video, it simply showed two large dogs playing. Why were we not contacted if our dog had been aggressive? If there had truly been a "scratch injury" that occurred, why were we not contacted? Were the other owners contacted? Where were the "camp counselors" who are supposed to be monitoring behavior in the yards? Well, I can tell you one thing - neither Colby (manager), nor Chuck (the owner) had answers. Chuck very literally *promised* to get back to us quickly, yet 36 hours passed without contact. When he finally did reach out, he chose to do so at nearly 9PM. To summarize our communication with these individuals in one word: INCOMPETENT. An absolute joke of a "premier" service. These individuals consistently kept our dogs kenneled while charging us for a daycare service. If our dogs had been problematic prior to this incident, we should have been contacted for the safety of our dogs and the safety of others. We will be taking our money elsewhere and highly suggest you do the same. My understanding is that Chuck also owns the Grapevine location. Board at your own risk. read more

Where to begin... we LOVED Camp Bow Wow Coppell. But then our dog left with a cut by his eye, then I saw him getting dragged by another dog while the person "watching" the dogs was chatting with another employee in a different yard, then our dog got sick and cost me another $200 at the vet, then our dog came home with gashes behind his ears from dogs playing too rough, and now today, he came home with a bloody nail, wet neck from other dogs slobber and gashes on his neck/behind the ear area after I watched for 4-6 minutes waiting for the yard attendant to go to the inside area instead of just outside (5 mins is a long time to not check in on the dogs in the inside area)... if it wasn't for Shelly and Chucks kindness, we probably wouldn't have given this place as many chances. I am hopeful to try another location, hoping that it's just the staff inside the yards that turn a blind eye. I notice some animals having a blast and I think that's awesome, but we've just had the worst luck and I hate that I've been putting my baby in a bad position. I really love this place! We take our dog 1-2 days a week for daycare so he can interact with other dogs and not be home alone all day while we're at work. He was very nervous and unsure his first time, but the workers sat with him and comforted him until he warmed up. A few visits later, he's literally pulling me inside because he's so excited to go and see his dog friends. Right when you go in, the front desk is fashioned as a homely cabin setting; it just reminds you of those times when you sat by a warm campfire out in the forest, roasting Smores. Your trust is deepened as you can watch your dogs 24/7 on the cam wherever you are. As busy as we dog owners could be, this might just be the only place to entrust your dogs here, but in life, we all know nothing is as it seems. Among other reviewers, it seems as though I may be the one, unhappy apple in the tree. I know how it works on Yelp. (Yelp, playing a large role in moving my decision to try this place out) A sweet five star screams YES to you as it did for me. Of all the many great reviews you see, why must you adhere to this pesky review? Because this is what happened: I needed someone to take care of my puppy. Fast. I was going out of town, but people around me were busy or untrustworthy. After surfing through the web, I found Camp Bow Wow. Many people seemed to leave their dogs here, and above all things, their dogs were happy. I fell into that idea of this place being all cute and nice for my puppy with the cabin theme around it, and hearing all the praises on Yelp about this place. So, I took my puppy for their first visit. I got myself in the fuss of filling out the forms and getting him vaccinated. When I first when in, I was greeted by the front desk lady, Gabri. (I think that's her name) And, that's when everything goes wrong. I went to have a tour and a interview still a little unsure if or if not I should enroll him, but right then, she got me registered. I was in a whirlwind. I kept on asking if I can go in with him, but she kept on denying. HE WASN'T ABLE TO MEET WITH OTHER DOGS BEFORE. IT WAS HIS FIRST TIME. After much throwing of irrelevant information or defending her cause of taking him away so quickly, she pulled my dog away to the indoor yard with over 20 other dogs after much negotiations with me, insisting that she wasn't ready. Adult, big dogs were roaming around that yard. Once again, she was being all pushy about putting MY PUPPY along with the big dogs instead of the yard with small dogs just because she went a little over the minimum of 30 pounds. She instead blamed me being to attached to her, which is bogus, since is there such thing as loving your dogs too much? And apparently, this worker loves being in control, since kept on insisting leaving him there for 3 hours. As subtle it may seem, from my baby going in to " socialize" to " not letting me see the back", she was a impolite, forceful marketer, who loves enrolling dogs in their camp than the well-being of them. I was then glued to the Cam, watching how he was doing on his first day. The anxiety and the frustration of leaving their owner as well as being crowded with dogs over 30 pounds was written all over my puppy's body language. The whole time, he was in a corner by himself, waiting to be out. Afterwards, I died inside. At home, after his first day, HE STARTED GRINDING HIS TEETH. AND THEN BLOOD CAME OUT. HIS TOOTH AND HIS GUM FELL OUT! I know puppies get more teeth, but he kept on grinding 2 days straight after due to excessive stress. When I go to pet him, he runs away when before we were so close. For a week after that, he became very distant only playing by himself. He became more sensitive when I just thought I won his heart. It took him awhile when I first got him, because he was mistreated by his previous owner. After 5 months of getting him potty trained, he peed on the carpet again like when he was younger. Til' to this day he is still peeing on the carpet after two weeks. When I get his collar out for a walk, he scurries away as if it brought painful memories. This is abuse. A real respectful worker would have acknowledged the customer's request, but most importantly, the dog's, my dog! He was a puppy. Puppies especially first timers should have not went in the ghastly, grey yard, considering he was also the smallest. Every other dog was fully grown and over a year old! read more

This is a tremendous place to bring your pup if you live in Coppell, Valley Ranch, Las Colinas, etc. Amy and crew are the most friendly, welcoming team I've ever met. The place is immaculate- smells wonderful and is super clean- a critical part of choosing the right place to bring your dog! I brought my pup in today for a quick bath- he was rocking the "not-so-fresh" dog funk that can come with hard times playing outside, and they took great care of him- he was in and out within 30 minutes, fresh and wearing a cammo bandanna. I had the opportunity to check out the "camp" part for the dogs- the sleeping areas are HUGE and again- so clean. I will most certainly bring my lab back to Camp Bow Wow as soon as I need to. From a pricing perspective- the value is great- they have both doggy day care services as well as overnight boarding. Gus can't wait to go back and see his friends at Camp Bow Wow. read more

We are travel'n folk. Not like gypsies or hobos, but we like to go places. Problem is that most places aren't too dog friendly, and since they are charging a redundant organ now a days for luggage, we definitely can't take the dog with us all the time. So, when we have to go out of town (and we are running low on the "friend favors" to cash in) we take Madison the Wonder Mutt to Camp Bow Wow. These people are awesome! They know our dog by name and have even stopped to talk to us while we were out eating and addressed us as "Madi's parents". They treat the dogs like family and we never have to worry about her being lonely or abused (like we've experienced at some other places). They raised their prices a little while back which can make it pretty expensive to board her over a long weekend, but it's worth it since we know we'll return to a tired, but well loved dog. They have a web-cam that you can access and watch the dogs playing. Yes, I too thought, "That's ridiculous" until I found my wife goo-ing over streaming video on the internet and showing her family how much fun the dog was having. I have to update this and downgrade from a 5 to a 2. What I didn't know after only one visit is that our dog would get kennel cough virtually every time he visited- at least three or four times- including the first visit. Beyond that, the last time we took him we were told at pickup to return in an hour because he was covered in feces and had to be bathed to ride in the car. I reported this via their email survey- no response. We won't be back. *** We took our dog here for the first time today. What a great experience! The staff is super friendly and very welcoming. The facility setup is very cool too. The "cabins" are a nice size and each "camper" has their picture and details posted on the door to be sure their needs are met. The girls who work with the dogs really seem to enjoy what they do and I can't help but think that the animals pick up on that. We'll definitely be returning for periodic daycare and boarding. read more

I brought my dog Murphy into Camp Bow Wow before my fiance and I went on a five day vacation. Right away I could tell we'd made the right choice. The staff was very friendly and down-to-earth and I could tell that they truly enjoy being around dogs all day. I felt like a dad saying goodbye to his son at summer camp, who just had no thought to say goodbye back. He wanted to get in on the action as soon as we walked in. Throughout the trip, I checked in on their webcams online to see my dog running around and playing. He looked like he was having such a good time, and one of the employees even contacted me to give me periodical updates. Usually I am worried when I leave him with strangers but I felt very reassured the whole time. When we got him back, he smelled brand new (they gave him a much-needed bath, I'm sure) and he didn't seem to want to leave his new friends. That night he fell right to sleep from being exhausted. Camp Bow Wow of Coppell has been amazing. My Wife and Shiba Inu Vegas moved from California to Texas last week. The staff have welcomed Vegas with open arms. She loves playing with her new friends. Most of these reviews are from years ago so please keep that in mind when considering this place for your pup. I absolutely would never refer anyone to Camp Bow Wow in general, but especially the Coppell facility. Not only were the workers rude, but their facility is extremely over booked and under cleaned. Camp Bow Wow NEEDS to do it's due diligence and take a few days to shut down and clean so they can start new. They also need to stop over booking. Lastly, my biggest complaint is that after boarding my girl here (which cost me over $200), I came back to an extremely ill pup. My dog is 1 year old, has now lost over 5 pounds because she has no interest in eating or drinking, has no interest in playing anymore, has CONSTANT snot pouring from her nose, and has a terrible consistent cough. Which is a result of Kennel Cough, due to Camp Bow Wow allowing other dogs in the facility who are very clearly ill. When I called to inform them, they just said "oh yeah we've had lots of cases lately" ... SO frustrating to spend $200+ on boarding, only to have to spend another 200+ on vet care/medicine. It's not even about money at this point though. It's the fact that my dog will now be sick for the next month-two months. RIDICULOUS. Absolutely do NOT take your animals here if you want to keep them healthy. read more

I'm so glad I found Camp Bow Wow! I went today for the interview and Shiloh stayed at camp the whole day. I was very nervous because this was her first time at doggie day care, but I was happy to know that I could watch her from the web cams all day. I was so happy to see that Shiloh LOVED spending the day at camp bow wow! She played almost the whole day (she took a nap). She came home exhausted! Which is awesome because she has lots of energy! We have been taking our pup here for the last couple of months and they are great with him! All the employees love dogs and put an effort in to play with them, as well as are constantly cleaning and keeping up with the sanitary requirements of dogs. The reviews for this location certainly seem better but I'm disappointed. I took my dog there this week for the initial visit, all went well, he came home tired. Today we went back and he freaked out when we got there which I thought was odd. Throughout the day I checked in on him and realized that over the 3 hours I watched that the staff actually do NOT play with the dogs. They simply supervise. There is no activities planned simply dogs playing with dogs. While this helps me in the situation I'm in since my dog cannot currently stay alone, it's certainly not worth the 26 dollars for my dog to "sniff" other dogs all day. Their website is misleading as it says they play, I was told they would play but in all the looking at the cams, not once did I see anyone playing with any dog!!! I personally think it's a rip-off. The dogs come home tired from stress of being in a room with other dogs and kenneled when they're not in a "play" room. Based on some other reviews of other locations this can be as much as 6 hours of the 12 might be there. We will be going to Benny's right up the road as soon as there's an opening. They do nothing but play and do not kennel. Recommendation to staff....you're standing there...how hard would it be to toss a ball, give them some toys OR better yet, NOT IGNORE my dog that was walking up to you because you were too busy talking to your co-worker on the other side of the wall for 45 minutes. We have been bringing Hank, our Golden Doodle, here for the entire four years we've had him. If I mention the name "Bow Wow" Hank becomes very alert & heads to the door to go there! The staff is the BEST! They LOVE all the dogs but make me feel like my HANK is there special one! Hank has so many friends here! Camp Bow Wow is a life saver. We started taking out pup there about 2 years ago now and they have been nothing but helpful. Linda and Amy are the two women that run the place, and they always greet you with a smile and a warm welcome. Now that we have two dogs it's even more of a lifesaver. I highly recommend this place to anyone with dogs and is looking for a place that you can trust to leave your pets with for a day, a night or even an extended weekend. Not a great first experience! This is what happened when I dropped off our dog at the Coppell location. My son and I came in with our dog on her leash. We gave her to one of the girls who took her behind the desk. I told the girls that we were going out to the car to get her bed. When we opened the door to come back in, our dog bolted into the parking lot. She wasn't wearing her leash. She was very frightened and began running around the parking lot with the girls chasing after her. I told them stop and was able to coax her back into the car. This was an extremely dangerous situation that could have ended very differently as camp bow wow is on the corner of two busy streets. read more

Clean facility with wonderful customer service. They always know our pups name when she walks in and they treat her like their own pet. Our pup always has the best time and it helps her to be a better dog at home by getting her energy out throughout the day. Daycare has also helped out wonderfully with her socialization. My dog, Henleigh, LOVES Camp Bow Wow. We moved to Richardson, so it's too far now, but we both miss them so much! Henleigh loves to go there, and she loves the owners and workers. They are VERY clean, and they are very good with animals. Anytime I go out of town for a long time, that is where she goes. I don't get to travel much, but when I do, she goes there! She has NEVER gotten sick from going to "school," as we call it. There is nothing more important than leaving your babies in the care of someone who cares for them as you would. So I did take my dog back here for day care. This time I watched the cameras more frequently. The spill on the floor seems to be from the containers that hold water for the dogs. These containers were not visible on cam earlier and that is why it looked like pee in the play yard. My dog has not caught any kennel cough and I was glad to see him doing well along with other dogs when I viewed the camera. They had someone in the play yards making sure everything is okay with the dogs and making sure they don't get into a fight. The staff is friendly and they take good care of your little furry friend. I think I wouldn't mind bringing my dog back here going forward. read more

Camp Bow Wow Coppell is the best pet boarding/sitting location in the area. I've taken my pup to three different locations in Irving, Coppell, and Lewisville and CBW is the only one where I felt confident that he would be well cared for by staff. I have used this location for boarding and day camp with no problems or concerns before, during, or after his stay. The staff are all friendly and it shows when I'm bringing my pup and he is comfortable greeting them all. I appreciate the fun around the holidays with the various costumes the dogs are dressed in and photographed. I definitely recommend this location! read more

This place is great. My dog loves going there. The best part is I can watch her all day through the cameras and I do. She is a shy and nervous dog but is very relaxed when she is at CBW, which makes me happy. The only complaint I have about this place is an unpleasant encounter I had with a CBW member. She knew nothing about my dog's history, her health issues but implied I fed my dog less food to keep her skinny/didn't care about her. Made me feel like a bad parent and almost had me rethink sending my dog here. If not for that incident I would have given this place 5 stars. All the other CBW staff I met are wonderful. read more

We LOVE Camp Bow Wow SOO MUCH!! We have been taking our Golden Retriever, Riley, here for over a year. The staff is wonderful beyond belief. They know you and your dog by name which is a great customer service touch. They take pictures for Halloween, Valentine's Day and Christmas. It's super cute. I really did my research before I decided on CBW. I really did appreciate how when you walk in, you aren't slammed in the face with the smell of dog pee. They make sure to keep the facility very clean. They also have webcams, so you can watch your kiddo while they're at camp. The owners, Linda and Amy, are the absolute best. You can tell they really and truly love what they do and love to be surround my dogs all day. I doubt you can find that level of dedication anywhere else. We just adore the staff. They really develop relationships with the dogs. Riley will literally run in and hug his favorite camp counselor, Shelley. He loves going to this place THAT much.
