We have boarded there 4 times now. Each time our dogs came home with fleas and now this last time, kennel cough. I know it's hard when you have other dogs come in (it's like kids at school where parents send their kid sick,) but there has to be a way to keep your location sprayed and treated for fleas. As for kennel cough, I can only say I've been at the front desk when the front desk asked a patron for updated records as they dropped off a dog and when the person said they didnt have them, they replied with "that's ok just send them when you can." That shows they dont pay attention to vaccines in great enough detail. The response shouldn't been, "then your dog can't be dropped off until we get those records." We saved money on boarding in comparison to other places but spent $1000.00 on a vet bill for kennel cough. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. Let's start with the basics 1. It's clean and doesn't have a "kennel" smell at all 2. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly 3. Affordable as all get out, you don't have to pay monthly or in a package for daycare. Simple by the hour pricing. Now the extras 1. When you pull up someone is waiting to greet you. Not just the person at the front desk, but to either get your fur baby or bring your fur baby to you. 2. The staff are so sweet!!! Friendly to me should be the standard which is why I put it in the basics above, but these folks are so lovely. Attentive, caring, dog snugglers. Every time I pick up our pup I see them playing with the dogs, cuddling, all the things! 3. When you pick up from daycare your pup won't smell! This is a tell tale for the cleanliness. They even give them a quick spritz of "cologne". I love this! Things to know: 1. At 6 months your dog has to be spayed or neutered otherwise you aren't allowed to be in daycare. Totally normal for all daycare places. read more

Be aware they don't supervise the dogs or break them up if things get too rough. Our dog got bit in the ear and now has a ripped bloody ear. No remorse or apology and still billed us. We won't be back. read more

Had a last minute company meeting at our corporate office in Southlake and decided to road trip and bring my three dachshunds with me. The staff at Fireplug were very responsive to my questions and requirements for boarding. The facility was impressive and my three seemed to enjoy their stay. Typically when I pick them up they have a dazed look..........but their experience here was obviously a positive one! Wish we had a facility closer to us. Cannot give enough stars to this place. SO caring, so kind. The first time I sent my dog here she was just getting socialized. WHen I went to pick her up she was limping. Fireplug and their owner called every day to check on her. I love dropping dog off for day play here because the staff loves her and she is always exhausted when I pick her up. The Good The Bad and the Ugly. The Good - The prices for Boarding are Super Reasonable. 1 of our Neighbors Swear by this place , That's how we found out about them. They only board small dogs under 20lbs which made us happy since we have small dogs. When went out of town last 2 times we used them and our dogs seem genuinely happy when we picked them up! The Bad - Young Staff that do not really pay attention to the dogs. They say they do but the Ugly will tell you that they DON"T. Also they must not be trained to separate problem dogs ( The Ugly). The Ugly - 1st time we Boarded our 2 dogs After picking them up, in our car I discover Blood all over my hands??? Our Smallest dog had been bitten by another dog in his NECK! (So do they really keep an eye on your dogs?) They claimed they new nothing about it? Took our dog to the vet and sent them the Bill ( Good - They Paid it) (Bad the check they sent was it?) You think they would have put a sticky note or letter apologizing about the incident. Nope all forgotten. MORE UGLY - We used them again to Board our dogs (2nd chance) come back pick up dogs next day I tell wife what is wrong with our dogs they are sneezing and blowing SNOT everywhere since they got back from FIREPLUG INN? round 2 to the vet Ta da dogs have upper respiratory infection which is highly infectious among other dogs. ( Their staff should be trained to know these symptoms and they should have seen the dog sneezing and Blowing Snot.) And should have separated the dog from the other dogs to lessen a chance of spreading the virus. Also should have been informed that another dog was boarded with a problem when we pick up our dogs. So our Boarding this time is more expensive due to additional vet Bills. Will we Use FIREPLUG INN again. That's a BIG NO! and if you care about you dogs (Family Members) YOU SHOULD AVOID this Place! read more

THEY HAVE MOVED!! The new address is 2251 E. Continental Blvd, in Southlake. It's in the back, but it's a building with a BIG red roof! I love this place. I have taken my shih tzu here for years (and my old dog before that). He had had a bad experience where a big dog attacked him last year, so he is absolutely terrified of large dogs. This place is heaven to him! They are a small dog place- only allow dogs under 25lbs. They do let labs and goldens in as puppies, but as they get to be too big they can't stay. I take my dog in for daycare- and it's only $3 an hour or so and I pick him up at the end of the day and he is exhausted! read more

I was previously boarding my dog at another facility and unfortunately he would come home dehydrated and not himself. I saw the reviews for this place and thought I would give it a try. I boarded my dog Tigger for four days and three nights. When I picked him up he seemed energetic and was his normal happy go lucky self! I took him home and he wasn't dehydrated - he walked around the house, ate his dinner and didn't skip a beat! I will also be bringing my daughter's Pom-chi for boarding and grooming. Thank you soooo much for taking good care of my dog - we've been together for 12 years and he's precious to me....thank you, thank you, thank you! I can now go out of town and have peace of mind that he's being well taken care of - thank you!! read more

My dog loves going to Fireplug Inn! The people are very friendly, too. The facilities are clean and bright and it doesn't smell bad. There are no cameras to watch your dog during the day (something I was used to) but you will get over that. The price is fair, too. We love love love this place!! We have taken our morkie to many different groomers in the area and this is by far our favorite place. The place is very clean and super cute. The staff is so attentive. They make sure you and your fur baby are happy when you leave. We have been greeted with a smile every time we've been here. Susan, Zoe's groomer this time did an excellent job. She listened to my concerns about her groom and suggested many great ideas for Zoe's cut. My dog, Mojo, absolutely loves this place. He knows it by name and can't wait to get out of the car when we drive up. We feel very good about leaving him here for the week when we go on family vacations. We call it "doggie camp". We also drop him for a few hours during the week if we feel he needs some fun play time with other dogs. They only charge $3 per hour for daycare. Mojo also enjoys the grooming and bath services. Being first time parents, we wanted to make sure we found a great place for our little one. We were concerned about leaving Oliver behind, but we are so thankful we found Fireplug Inn, and more impressed with their quality of service and activities. We have boarded Oliver for 4 days in the past and he loved it very much, that we decided that he should also attend doggy day care for his socialization skills development. We are very happy that this place only takes small & low weight pets, and this makes us very comfortable knowing Oliver will have other buddies his size to play with. We highly recommend Fireplug Inn because of their quality of service, commitment to each pet, and the cleanliness of the business. Have boarded our goldendoodle puppy here twice. She seems to have a wonderful time. The first time she didn't want to leave after 4 nights. The second time she was there almost nine days and was happy and healthy at pick up, but thankfully also happy to come home. We also had her groomed and she looked very good. Facilities are very nice and seem very clean. It's well staffed and everyone is very nice and helpful. The staff were friendly and courteous and my havanese seemed to have lots of fun playing with his four legged friends. However sadly this was the worst groom, he has ever had. Looked like a skinned rat despite asking them not to cut him too short. I am not sure what they did to his face but he looked horrible. I couldn't get into my normal grooming place on short notice so tried Fireplug. I think I will stick with Earthwise in the future. read more

I've been taking my dogs to the Fireplug Inn for the past 13 years and it is a treasure! The care my dogs receive is second to none. They are strict about size and about vaccinations which I greatly appreciate. My two dachshunds absolutely love it there - I leave them with Nancy and her team when i travel and I know they are as well cared for as if they were at home with me. The facilities are clean and bright. The outdoor areas are always well-maintained. The staff is always cheerful and seem genuinely glad to have new guests. I live in East Dallas so its a trek for us but I won't leave mine anywhere else! read more

I would not board my dogs anywhere else! I boarded my two previous Scotties here since 2000 until their passing in 2013. My two adored this place. I would drive up and my dogs knew immediately where we were and could NOT wait to get out of the car. They would drag me to the door and once inside, run off to play without one backward glance at me! I'm now boarding my next set of pups. Who enjoy it just as much. Very well run.
