I said I'd take it, and We set an appointment for 1:30 pm to drive and deliver. At 10am I received a second call from manager Jesse, welcoming me to the dealership and looking forward to our meeting at 1:30. Then, At11:50 am I receive a text from Marion that sorry they they sold the 4Runner! After I left a message asking for an explanation , Manager "Brandon" called and stated that they didn't cancel the meeting but also didn't have that model to sell me. Basically, pound sand. I have been their client for 16 years for both sales and service. This week my service invoice increased from $280 to over $1,300 after inspection. I understand, but this made it necessary for me to use a credit card for payment. Camelback Toyota now charges 3% to use a credit card (did not used to). This should be their cost of doing business, just like other businesses. Now I have to pay the invoice, plus 3%, plus credit card interest. I drive much further to service my car at Camelback, but the dealership perks have steadily declined and I don't think I will be back. Charging a fee when using a credit card, no longer providing a ride if needed, and no longer washing a car as a courtesy after spending a large amount. Over the years I have spent a lot of money at Camelback Toyota and have been loyal, although I live only 2 miles from Bell Road Toyota. I have never had a problem with any of the service technicians, they have all been great, but I no longer feel that Camelback Toyota wants me as a client. read more

Our sales rep Brent Harris sold us a Sienna with a broken entertainment system. Brent failed to disclose that the entertainment system was not working and "aftermarket" and thus would not be serviceable at the dealership. When we returned home with the certified preowned car we found out the entertainment system was broken and when we brought it in for service Camelback refused to service it or compensate us in any way. UNETHICAL DEALERSHIP - Avoid at all cost Believe the bad reviews. They just want money pushing services & add-on's that are not needed and don't take ownership of their work. They damaged my vehicle during last service visit and refuse to reimburse me $800 for the cost to repair. The way they have handled what should have been a very easy situation to rectify has proven that they do not care about their customers. They could have offered me a credit towards future services and that would have solved the problem immediately but instead they chose to give me the runaround right off the bat. I have had all maintenance done on my 2020 Rav4 at Camelback Toyota for the past 3 years since I purchased certified used with 10,000 miles. Car now has 50,000 miles so they have done 7 of the 9 lifetime oil changes it has had along with some other recommended services. The last oil change they did, they over torqued the oil drain plug stripping it so when I brought my vehicle in 5,000 miles later to a different Toyota dealership the plug was able to be removed but not replaced causing me to need a whole new oil pan. I tried reaching out immediately to Camelback Toyota and could not get a hold of anyone. My vehicle was on the lift with no oil and unable to drive. I was waiting to see if Camelback would want to have my vehicle towed there to fix it themselves but the service manager would not return my calls. After 5 days of paying for a rental car I decided to have it repaired where it was. For the last 2.5 months I have been trying to get reimbursed by them $630 for the oil pan and $125 for the rental car. I finally spoke with Service Manager Damian and he told me if I had brought it back they would have coded a claim for my platinum warranty to cover it. I reached out to warranty and they said they would not cover and that the dealership is responsible to fix. They transferred me to Toyota Brand Engagement for help who then contacted Camelback General Manger, Service Manager and Customer Service managers on my behalf. None of them reached out to me but lied to brand engagement saying they had. Damian is now ghosting me, not returning messages I leave, the operator lied to me and said he did not have a voicemail to transfer me to even though I was previously transferred to his voice mail. Brand engagement escalated my case and reached out to Camelback again. I finally got to speak with Jimmy Oh who gaslit me saying it could not have been their fault as they have special equipment that torques to spec but if I would have had it towed there they would have fixed it. I told him I would have if anyone called me back but could not keep paying rental car fees. He offered me $400 but I refused as they should take full responsibility since their technician screwed up. I asked him to call the other dealership since he is adamant they are to blame. He said he would but never did. I reached out to the service advisor there and confirmed they never heard from Jimmy. Called Brand Engagement again and was told they were standing by the dealership and couldn't help me any further. I asked to speak to a manager and they said one was not available but they would have them call me back. Never heard from them again either. Unrelated or maybe not. At the last maintenance visit Camelback did (when they screwed up the oil pan) it was also time to do service on the Hybrid battery. Ever since then I have noticed my MPG has gone from 36.4 down to 32.4. That's a 4 MPG drop in only 6 months. I am inclined to wonder now if something was not done right with that. The 3 years I have owned this vehicle I have maintained 36-38 MPG even during summer when I am running A/C to cool the car off before driving. I am going to have the other dealer service it at my next visit to make sure everything is good and see if my MPG starts going back up. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise that I did not take it back for Camelback to fix the oil pan as who knows what other damage they would have done to get me to pay for. read more

Alex is the only positive aspect of this dealership; I would give him five stars if I could. His manager is also very friendly, informative, and helpful. The other salespeople (I tried going through Costco the first time) were condescending, mean, and annoying, and they would not stop contacting me. Denita was condescending and unorganized in finance. She tried selling me on a warranty I said no to multiple times. After I said no, she tried to guilt me into buying it even though the car had a two-year manufacturer's warranty. They wouldn't sell me gap insurance alone without anything else and tried to get me to buy into a "package" deal no matter what." The "best" part is that I got a call from the finance department almost a week after trading in my car and driving the new car off the lot because they did not complete my paperwork and still needed my signature on more stuff. They told me outright that the deal was sitting on her desk for a week because she didn't have me sign paperwork when I was there for 4 hours. It has been over two days since I signed the last paperwork, and still no word on what is happening. Good luck if you choose this option. You will have to fight for the best price, but after that, they will still try to gouge you. read more

Isaiah is the BEST car sales dude I have ever met. I called to inquire about a used Toyota RAV4 as I was sitting at another car dealership in Tempe getting the run around. Unfortunately the vehicle I was asking about was sold so I hung up and kept looking. As I was walking out of the other Tempe Toyota shop, Isaiah called me back in a very non-pressure way, thanking me for taking the random caller ID from his phone. We talked about what my price point and qualities in a used car were that I was seeking and he guaranteed I could find something under my out the door price. When I arrived he had cold water waiting for us and had the vehicle pulled up and ready I was most interested in. He let me test drive and was super patient even when I had to pull over to take a call. He showed me another vehicle but I was already quite interested to talk numbers with the VW Atlas he found for me. I hate buying cars and we have family in the industry. My sister who funny enough had worked for this dealer briefly in the past, confirmed my price, payments, and financing were a good deal. The sales manager was very nice and fast in the process after I had waited a while and expressed I had desire to get done and drive out of there. Buying a car is never fun, it's stressful and a big purchase. This store is clean, majority of staff are friendly, and they listen to what is important to you as a customer. I purchased a certified pre owned 2018 tundra from these guys.. almost a year ago now. During the finance process I was urged to purchase one of the better warranties for it as the finance guys always do. I believe it was around 3200 dollars! After less than six months I had a check engine light come on. I took it by an autozone and they gave me the bad news that the p0420 code was bad catalytic converters! I immediately called them thinking well no big deal I bought this nice warranty and it should be covered! Nope they seemed very pleased to tell me it was not covered! After getting quotes from multiple shops for anywhere from 4100 to 5000 dollars to repair I called and asked to speak with a sales manager. The sales manager listened to my concern about this and said he would check with the other sales manger and get back to me! Well good thing I didn't hold my breath because now almost at the one year mark I've heard nothing! I do believe they knew about the bad converters and still sold the vehicle to me thinking it was my problem now! As a family man with four girls in the house we definitely can not afford to keep this truck on the road! Now I'm stuck with this thing due for emissions in about a month and a huge repair bill! This place is such a scam. I've brought my vehicle here 4 times for service and never had an issue, they always recommended services during the appointments; many which I declined because I didn't know if it was necessary. Come to find out from Big Two Toyotoa dealership that much of the stuff they were saying was needed was in fact not needed. At 30k miles they recommended "REAR DIFFERENTIAL, FRONT DIFFERENTIAL AND TRANSFER CASE FLUID SERVICE" for 329 dollars. Another dealership pulled out the handbook and showed me that wasn't recommended until at least 100k miles. Every time I would come in for service I would ask if I was getting an oil change and it seemed like every other time they would say no which makes sense. Yet in the system it's logged that I had an oil change every single service at Camelback; every 5k miles after being told I wasn't getting oil. ( I had bought a prepaid package for oil changes and was surprised when I was already out so quickly). So was I getting oil or not?? As I inquired about either buying out my lease or starting a new lease the sales people became absolutely RELENTLESS. Calling sometimes 3 or 4 times in a span of 10 minutes. Calling and texting as late as 9:30 pm. Emailing, texting, calling constantly for months. I told them I just wanted some information about the process of buying out my lease or general numbers on how much new leases are costing and suddenly they want me to come in to sign papers and run credit, NO. I get trying to make a sale but it's ridiculous. Finally they caught me while my car was in for service, they said they could get some general numbers and then come back to ask for my info to run credit...then they tell me if I buy out my lease I will owe an extra 3k in taxes etc ( I didn't realize this). When we went to big two toyota I went to the financing department and asked if I could schedule a meeting to buy out my lease; he said sure and as we are talking I asked if I got my own loan what was the process for buying it out. It took him less than one minute to explain the process that I had been asking camelback for over a year for. And I didn't even need an appointment at the dealership. And funny enough we didn't owe an additional 3k in taxes like camelback said we would for buying out the lease. Now here's the kicker, just as we were getting ready to buy out our lease with our private loan, Camelback calls once again (they've gotten smarter at this point by calling off a non camelback toyota line) so I unfortunately answer. The guy asks about my lease and I inform him it's already in the process of being bought out. He says "oh really?..... any chance you can do it through us????" Why would I do that.? And why would he want me to do that unless he's thinking he can stick us for an extra 3k for no reason and get a commission off it. The difference between honest companies and dishonest ones is clear. Big Two gave me the info I needed to get my lease paid off in the easiest way; they didn't pressure me to do it through them. He listened to what I wanted and guided me. Dishonest people from the sales person Louise to the managers Sergio Sanchez, and Sam, down to the finance department stay far away unless you wanna get ripped off!!! trading in a 2024 fully loaded Toyota Camry, and still putting money down. Went in before car payment was due letting the sales person Louise know right up front ! He said yeah no worries.. yeah don't pay it. Just put your money down. We're working on the truck that you want. My family bought a car from them and couldn't even fill the tank or give it more than a proper 15 minute detail. (Inside and outside of the car was dirty...). Completely ridiculous. Been talking to the internet sales manager Eddie all morning about a specific used vehicle. Get pre approval and did the application. Told him specifically that car and he even sent me screen shot of the car through text confirming he would have it pulled around for my appointment. I drove over an hour and a half to purchase this car as long as test drive was good... get to the dealership and was told the car isn't available and never was. Eddie can't even come out and show his face to talk to me. Then they try to up-sale into a more expensive car that I don't want. I went to Arrowhead Toyota first. I had a bad experience. I went in to look at a car manager Juan had a sales man help me. He knew how much I had and I can spend. I was paying cash. we went back-and-forth and I told him look I can't pay anything more than what I have. He said let me ask my manager one more time so he took the paper back with that had all the totals and costs on brings it back, crumbled up and hand it to me and says this is what my manager says. It was rude. There is no need for that. I ended up at Camelback Toyota Xavier help me he knew how much I had and what I was looking for. They're fair They will work with you and they'll find you what you need. I drove my car off. I saw spots on the plastic part over my speedometer. They look like water spots. I called my sales rep. Xavier and told him. after three weeks and Xavier stayed in contact with me. He didn't ignore any of my calls and he was very helpful. They are making it right & fixing it.The only thing I can say Toyota Camelback can work on is when they sell the car make sure it's clean nothing wrong with it. Most expensive and slowest oil change in town! Nearly 2 hours with an appointment. Do not recommend.

In early April of this year, I purchased a 2015 Toyota RAV 4 from Camelback Toyota. The purchase price, along with the low mileage, made the car enticing and what I felt was an excellent purchase. That's where the "excellent" ended.. Nevertheless, these issues should not have even presented themselves since it was Camelback Toyota's responsibility to do the used car 160+ inspection points. Toyota Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) is defined as, "a selection of well-maintained, late model used Toyotas that undergo a 160 point inspection, ensuring they meet Toyota's quality and safety standards. Toyota CPO vehicles offer a higher level of confidence and assurance than a regular used car, as it has been rigorously inspected and reconditioned." I do not believe that any inspection was done on my vehicle! It should be noted that I had previously purchased a vehicle from Camelback Toyota (October 2024). This vehicle had immediate transmission problems. The gears would stick and not allow for shifting to gears above 2nd. I had it in their shop multiple times and each time I was told that they could not replicate the problem that I was having with the transmission. They finally sent the vehicle over to the Nissan dealership and they ended up having to replace the transmission. I must preface this review that most of the issues I have with Camelback Toyota and the condition of the vehicle are on me since I should have seen these problems upon initial inspection Within two weeks of purchasing the vehicle, I had to replace the following: Both headlamp bulbs Tail Light bulbs Front and back windshield wipers Front passenger tire had a patch in it and started leaking. Both front tires will need to be replaced. When I asked Camelback Toyota about what I would term "safety issues", I was told all vehicle purchases were sold "as is." I asked how these problems were not caught during their extensive inspection, considering lights, wipers, and tires would be considered "safety items"? I was told that the car was sold "as is" and none of these items would be covered. Despite repeatedly asking them to replace these, Camelback Toyota put this back on me stating that I should have seen this on inspection, and even if they had fixed them prioring to putting the car for sale, it would have driven the price of the vehicle up and I was working within a budget. The question that begs to be answered is, how much more would it have cost Camelback Toyota to replace some windshield wipers, light bulbs, and a couple of tires? This is a matter of principle! I believe that keeping the customer happy would be a top priority. It's not like I'm asking them to put a new transmission in the vehicle. The biggest safety issue with this vehicle is with the braking system. Since the day I drove the vehicle off the lot, there were different squeaks, grabs, grinding, or creaks. Everytime I pushed the brake pedal it went all the way to the floor. As a matter of fact, I called my salesman on my way home from the dealership detailing what I was experiencing with the brakes. I was given all sorts of excuses, including the belief that since they put new brake shoes on the vehicle, there could not possibly be anything wrong with them. I finally got an appointment with the service department and the technician said that he couldn't replicate any of the symptoms I described. I have maintained that there is something wrong with the braking system, and despite my continued objections, Camelback Toyota still considers this part of the "as is" disclaimer on used cars. I have taken the vehicle to my mechanic who said that while Camelback Toyota replaced the brake shoes, the rotors were not "turned". This is when they sand the rotors to remove any groves making the brakes smooth and not grabbing or squeaking when breaking. The estimate to repair this is $350-$450. I again asked Camelback Toyota if they would repair the brakes and the reply, from the used car manager, is that it is still part of the "as is" disclaimer. If the many reviews, that are listed on multiple sites, are to be believed, this practice is not uncommon to Toyota dealerships. My problem with Camelback Toyota is that I feel that I was led astray in order for the dealership to sell me a car that was not ready. For heaven's sake, the car wasn't even washed. Through this entire process, my salesperson, Tanner, and financing manager, Denita Long-Kaiser, were fantastic to work with. They listened to my concerns and promptly addressed them; or they were forwarded to the appropriate department or persons. All of this being said, Toyota's are great cars. They are reliable and hold their value. I will purchase another Toyota, but not from Camelback Toyota. This is the second time I have purchased a vehicle from them and the second time said vehicle has had major safety issues. I just had a GREAT EXPERIENCE with Jesse Lopez, New Car Sales Manager at this Toyota location! Here's the story: On my current search for a new vehicle, I have stopped at this dealership a few times. To be honest, I didn't have particularly good experiences... So I just decided that I would deal with other dealerships. However A couple weeks go by.... and I get a totally random call from Jesse Lopez (who I just mentioned above). I've never met him or spoken with him up to this point. Jesse tells me he saw in their records that I was interested in a particular vehicle and that he's got one coming in that matches my preferred specs...and he was able to get the price where I needed it to be and work in my trade-in! Jesse was extremely professional and very easy to talk with. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. He didn't play head games about the price. He kept me informed of my vehicle's status via text and helped make sure that I would be met at the front door of the dealership by a salesperson with the keys, the day my car would arrive! I hope that Toyota takes note of this type of professionalism. My advice to all looking for a new car from Toyota....call and demand to talk to Jesse first, to avoid all the hassles that often come with buying a new car. read more

So I went in for a simple oil change I was early the first. In line and had an appointment it took 3 hrs to complete. Once done the service writer and I talked about some serious things that needed to be fixed and showed me the photos of them. The car only has 41K miles.I was quite concerned. So while the oil change was being done my wife took me to breakfast. It was there. That we. When on line and found a place that ONLY work on Prius. After the oil change I took it there. So with the dealership papers in hand the vehicle was inspected. They called me over during the inspection to show me the dealership pictures and my vehicle they DIDN'T match. I purchased my car back in Oct. 2024 they included 5 oil changes at the time of purchase. when I took in for my 2nd oil change about a week later I was leaking oil... because they didn't tighten the oil plug? Granted they did tighten it but I had to take it back down to them. I live 45 min away. Huge inconvenience! I took it in today for my 3rd oil change. After arriving I was told they will not honor the last 2 oil changes? Because the 5 oil changes were only covered up to 25,000 miles from time of purchase or within 2 years of purchase. I tried to explain that nobody ever mentioned this before... not at time of purchase or the last 2 times I brought my vehicle in..... yes I took vehicle to another spot for my 1st oil change because I was unable to make it to them without going over mile... and she was the 1st and only employee to tell me this. dealership also just called me and stated they would honor it n apologized that I must of been confused.... All I stated was I'm not confused I understand the number 5. He said well I was going to help but not now because I stated above. Told me have a good day and hung up. read more

They lied to me about the price enough to get me to come back into the store to tell me they can't do the price they quoted. Then lied to me about where the vehicle came from. Told me the multi millionaire GM personally drove the car I was buying. I later found out that was a lie. As I was quietly walking out upset, the manager; Brandon Latour stopped me to insult and mock before I left. I raised my voice at that point since he encouraged me to come back in. I would have let me leave silently if I were him, but he couldn't resist getting the last word. I felt as if he wanted to fight me with the way he was looking at me. He must be new since encouraging a scene would ruin the reputation at Camelback. Never going back. Car dealerships will be a thing of the past soon. This is why. read more

I am so mad with this dealership. I bought a 30,000 dollar vehicle. Guess what they won't provide you with? A SPARE TIRE. That's not all - my car also did not come with a tiny Jack that obviously fits in the back rectangular slot of my trunk! My tire was a 11 psi. And I was 20 miles from town. I had to just risk It and drive till I make it to town risking my life going 20 under the speed limit while these crazy Phoenix drivers fly by and honk at me going 20-40 over the Posted speeds. Cherry on top was getting my tire repaired for free at a discount tire. Discount tire repaired it for free and took less that an hour. You really got shown up camelback Toyota because my expectation of discount tire is SO LOW. You managed to limbo your way right under that bar. Discount tire is provided better services than here. Your workers told me I needed and entire new tire and they would have to keep my car for ever 24 hours, because of course it had to be ordered. The spare no longer being provided is one thing BUT THE CAR JACK? What the heck Toyota. Also your recommended services and pricing is absolute BS. 39.95 for fuel cleaner? So explain to me what is so great about the fuel cleaner and how hard it is to open my gas cap and to poor an entire 12 ounce bottle into my tank. Oil stabilizer 29.95 dollars? Paid 20 dollars for both of those items and did it myself. What is the point of even taking my car to your dealership when you scalp me. I do not appreciate being treated as an idiot, because I am not one. You are the most undesirable dealership to me right now. Probably will remain that way. read more

I have bought three new Toyotas and three new BMWs in Phoenix since moving to Phoenix 24 years ago. None from CB Toyota. But now I lived closer to them and thought they deserved a shot. This place takes the cake. The guy in service told me my 2014 Prius needed a new engine so I thought I would walk through the sales dept and see what they had in efficient cars. This was in June 2022. The newbie sales guy explained they had no cars to sell and that people seeking new Toyotas need to come down at 6am twice a month as the delivery trucks are unloaded to bid on what they want. Expect to pay well over invoice he warned. He was honest. I said thanks but I would get mine repaired instead. This led to the famous "Turnover" when a younger guy fails to close he signals the "pro" to come over and pitch you. The "Pro" asked what I was looking for and I said "Something you don't seem to have. A new fuel efficient car". He spouted back " I have ten dealerships around here with lots of cars for sale". (Despite not a one at CB Toyota). My reply- I want an electric car next time I buy. His response "Electric Cars are not legal in Arizona". Exact words I sh-t you not. At this point I wondered just how bad my appearance must be to have a line like that tried on me. I shook my head and asked him " What about Tesla automobiles"? He quickly reversed himself and mumbled "Oh yeah". The guy even made followup phone calls to me to see if I was ready to buy. I said yes I was now driving a new Prius Purchased from Bell Toyota. The real mystery in all of this is why Toyota Corporate allows a poorly run franchise such as this one to crap all over a carefully built image with well deserved reputation for quality.Whose the regional here?
