Samadani does a fantastic job - especially when it comes to making my kids feel comfortable in a dentist chair.

Ok, let me start with my complicated Orthodontics history…read more This is my 3rd time getting braces (ya, no kidding). My first braces experience in elementary school was with Orthodontics students due to budget concern -- of course that didn't go well and they started me on a second round treatment right afterward. The supervising dentist at the time even told me that I didn't need retainers. So after getting into my 30s, my teeth alignment is out of place again. Now I have open bite. So I decided to do braces again. I went to 2 other orthodontists for consultation before choosing Arlington Orthodontics. One was widely referred by colleagues but her practice was too far, and her quote wasn't as competitive. Another was way too pushy in selling their service and even told me they can expedite the process from 20 months to 14 months. If you know something about adult teeth, you never want to rush your Orthodontics treatment. It can cause the root of the teeth to shrink, which can result in tooth loss. Dr. Lind green was the only orthodontist who spent the resources to take dental X-ray and 3D scan of my teeth among all these consultation, and free of charge. He spent a good amount of time to explain how prior ortho treatment shortened my tooth root, and how he'd adjust treatment to me. He was honest up front that I may not be able to complete treatment should they find my root shortened to a dangerous length. (He said he'd X-ray my teeth to monitor treatment). I chose an honest orthodontist, knowing that I'd be in good hands. No other ortho has taken the time and patience to explain to me. After all, I am he one paying for the service! Oh, the reclining chair, AC, and music makes a good short nap during my braces appointments. Haha.

Upgrade more issues…read more Dentist. Lindgren also deliberately made my top teeth wider than my bottom teeth, resulting in misalignment. Now, all four top teeth have root canal issues, and the cost to fix this is over $20,000. On top of that, he used an intense light that left dark spots on my lips after drying the glue. It seems he did all this intentionally, with these problems only becoming apparent years later. I recorded all my visits and can provide proof if necessary. Dentist. Lindgren falsely claimed I cursed his staff, which is completely untrue. If I had, I would ask him to specify exactly what was said and to whom. I urge him to do the right thing. This behavior is unprofessional and immature. Dentist. John Lindgren and his wife, both highly educated and quick to defend themselves, seem skilled at deflecting criticism rather than addressing the real issues at hand. Despite their credentials, their behavior throughout my treatment was unprofessional and disrespectful.

So, I want to write an update because at the time of this review, I was hoping for the best and…read morefelt a bit pressured to write a review. What I will say is Dr. Murthy is extremely knowledgable about orthodontics and will have very decided opinions about your care. This could be a good or bad thing depending on the case. My advice to you: get a second opinion if you go here first. I wish I had. In my case, my treatment was fine but my bite was definitely not "perfect" when my braces came off. Not sure if perfection is possible, so I can't necessarily fault Dr. Murthy for this. I certainly had some days where the elastics weren't in, if you know what I mean. What I CAN say is that Dr. Murthy's demeanor when faced with any sort of challenge is truly uncomfortable and borderline abusive. He had me on a few different occasions anxious and almost in tears about going into the office at all because I didn't know how he was going to treat me. Will he be annoyed if I wince due to tooth sensitivity? (Yes) Will he scold me like a child if I am not 100% who/what he expects me be on the chair? (Yes) Will he make recommendations that don't always make sense and then get frustrated when I ask for clarity because he doesn't possibly understand how someone might not comprehend him? (Yes) Will he maybe even gaslight you into thinking you heard him say something entirely different than what he said at the beginning of treatment? (also, yes) Look, at the end of the day, my teeth are straight. So result achieved? Sure. I had to lose a bottom tooth in the process (the reason I wish I had gotten. second opinion) and he was extremely rude 50% of the time (saccharinely pleasant the other 50%). The process to get my braces off was absolutely painful (in more ways than just physically). He scolded me because I was experiencing sensitivity and was having a tough time enduring the pain of the removal process. His response was to huff, puff and get annoyed with me, and then threaten to leave them on and make me go to my dentist to get it done because "he didn't have time for it", rather than be understanding and patient. I always felt like I was being rushed through my appointments so he could clear the deck for the next person - and I certainly value time efficiency... but not at the cost of being treated disrespectfully. The office management staff is superb, and the reason why this updated review is not 2 stars.

The below is a copy from my google review. However I would like to add the following:…read more Orthodontics of Cambridge has gone through great lengths in ensuring patient safety, especially now! Upon entering the office, you are instructed to wash your hands and then you have a temperature check by Katia. Dr. Murthy only sees one patient (or in our case family) at a time in his office since the pandemic. He also assured us of the cleaning g process at the start of the day, between patients, and close of the day. This reassurance is imeasurable! Thank you so much for keeping us safe! We found Dr Murthy through our kids general dentist. I'm so happy they sent us straight here! The office is impressive and modern. It is clean, smells nice, and Katia at the front is very helpful with billing, scheduling, and any other questions you may have. Dr. Murthy has a fantastic energy and always takes the time to explain the procedures to his patient and like myself, the parent. We had concerns once braces went on and he made himself immediately available through text and video. Thank goodness for the modern age! We still have a ways to go for my eldest daughters braces, but so far her improvement is great! Highly, highly recommend his office. It's easy to park at his building in cramped Cambridge, too. -Dominique Cohen, mom of Rose and Dahlia

I searched for the…read moreperfect orthodontist for almost 5 years and I'm beyond happy that I found Dr. Melita right when I was about to give up. The reason for my hesitation was the multiple crowns (one being very visible) in my mouth along with the crowding issue I had. I am opposed to pulling healthy teeth out to make space without first trying to make it work with the existing space. Not even once did Dr. Melita try to change my mind about this nor even later during the treatment did she bring this up ever. She respected it wholeheartedly that I could feel it every time we would talk about next steps in making space to move the teeth around. Another reason why she is be the best Orthodontist to me is is that she worked with my crown so well that I never thought it would look this good to be honest. During the treatment, she allowed for me to go to my dentist to get a temporary crown to reflect the actual position of my teeth to make sure she gets them to the actual positions they need to be as close as possible. Not even once during the treatment have I felt rushed. It felt as if Dr. Melita was giving me the care that she would actually give to her own self. I don't know how I can actually convince anyone via words without knowing me to go and at least have a chat with Dr. Melita but I can tell you this much; I became a bride with braces as I was THAT happy and comfortable with them. I had the option to remove them for the wedding but didn't even bother. And it was Dr. Melita who offered to take them off so I could have my pictures without braces. I can't imagine a single orthodontist ever offering that. Little things matter along with the major PART of getting beautiful results. I took my braces off almost 3 months ago and still waiting to get my permanent crown put on. During this process I'm still in touch with Dr. Melita's office frequently and even after finishing the treatment you must see how much they still care for you to make sure you get on the schedule as soon as possible. I never laughed or smiled as genuinely as I do now and I can't thank enough to Dr. Melita and everyone in her office for making it happen. You make all the waiting worthwhile.

The practice was originally wonderful, and had such glowing reviews we paid up front for braces knowing the outcome would be terrific. What a mistake. Staff after the ownership change has been unreliable, and fully ineffective at supporting kids with dental anxiety (the whole reason we were at this practice). Our 2 outcomes ride the line of malpractice. Child 1; My first child's teeth were slow to fall out and required 13 extractions. Traumatizing to say the least. Every time they spoke to me, they had already told my weeping kid about a need for more extractions. Once in braces, they went ahead with a plan to leave gaps for implants instead of closing gaps as I had indicated with the original practice owner. This would have worked out in the end except they removed the braces before the teeth were fully straight making it impossible to obtain the implants they planned for, (without my agreement). In the end, I had to get kid 1 a bridge, requiring the grinding of 4 healthy teeth to restore the aesthetics for a minor. Devastating and now a chronic maintenance issue. Child 2; Brought here due to severe dental anxiety, this kid was constantly told there was a need for surgeries, or other invasive interventions, before letting me know and with no apparent awareness of the stress it caused. Multiple calls in to align our understanding did not seem to bend the curve. Once out of braces, kid 2 was seen by my adult dentist at another practice, who immediately saw a cyst on a tooth CPDA had rotated. That cyst, was apparently there for quite some time and was never mentioned by anyone at CPDA. The result, kid 2, the one who is terrified of dental work, is now undergoing surgery to remove the cyst and evaluate the resulting bone loss before receiving some kind of root canal, implant or bridge. Take a look at the dates of the good reviews. It speaks volumes. Do not bring your kids here.
