I was so scared of going to the dentist after a horrific experience ~5 years ago. However, I knew I needed to go in, and after receiving a promotional consultation flier and reading the wonderful reviews, I decided to go for it. I am so happy I did! Not only was every step of the process clearly explained to me, but the entire staff (including Dr. Gupta, his reception staff, and the dental assistants and hygienists), were extraordinarily kind and accommodating. I was very scared and anxious about the work I needed done on my teeth, but those fears were quickly alleviated by the level of care I received. I was also explained in-depth the cost and offered a couple of different payment options before my treatment, which was very helpful. The clean, modern office was very impressive. Dr. Gupta's aptitude for painless anesthesiology and his quick, precise work made a procedure which I feared for years extremely easy to get through. He also took photos of the before/after work, which was personally very interesting to see. He has excellent "bedside" manner, never making me feel rushed with and taking the time to fully answer all questions I had. I will never go to another dentist again! They will do everything to keep you paying for more visits…read more Was mislead about when my next appointment was and was screwed out of my 6 month exam because the office staff mislead me about when my next appointment was and what my insurance was covering. They had me go in for an "emergency" that was not even an emergency, and waited until I was already finished with the appointment to tell me that taking a piece of food out of my tooth would count as my visit- leaving out the fact that I was scheduled for a regular checkup the following week. This is not the first time situations like this have happened and the woman who is the office manager has been extremely rude while smirking over these issues. After 5 years at a dentist office I really loved, I feel taken advantage of and screwed out of my regular checkup. Would not recommend this office. I want to be clear - The dental hygienist staff are amazing - they are not part of this bad review. And until this date, I had no negative interactions with this dentist office outside of the office manager making snotty comments such as "only people with money can afford to have teeth."

I scheduled fillings specifically around insurance coverage, but when I arrived I was booked for a completely different procedure that my dentist had never explained to me. I then received appointment reminders for visits I never scheduled, and when I called they admitted it was a mistake. I was also told I owed a balance that I had already paid in full (my insurance reimburses me after the fact), and the office could not clearly explain why the charge appeared or why they told me I had already paid. I was then told that they forgot to submit my claim to my insurance. My hygienists were great, but I don't recommend this office if you have anxiety or don't have time to constantly correct scheduling/billing issues yourself.

The office staff was really helpful and sympathetic in setting up something last minute and I was only in the waiting area for about 5 minutes before being called in. After the examination they suggested I've been grinding my teeth in my sleep, which I'd never have guessed. Just glad it wasn't something worse, but they advised me on night guards for teeth and the pain has definitely diminished since I started using them. He is located right outside Harvard Square and has unlimited street parking for Cambridge permits and for meters. Alan and his wife are both excellent, friendly, and always listening to your concerns. I will never forget that he told me him and his wife still wear their own retainers to bed :-) I plan to do the same my whole life as long as I can have perfect, white teeth just like them! TL;DR: Go elsewhere, if possible…read more Went here for a couple years as my first dentist in Boston. Was fine for most of it (routine cleanings, a filling). Front office was kind, my first hygienist was nice. My dentist and hygienist were changed on me without notice, and neither of them introduced themselves to me (I still don't know what the dentist looks like or what his name is). Further, the new hygienist used a tool during a routine cleaning that broke off a piece of my tooth. He asked if "that crack [has] always been there", to which I replied "no." Come to find that I require a crown. In my back and forth with the office over this, I find that the hygienist had written in his notes that I came in with the crack. His notes state that I said "I think one of my teeth broke", which is patently false. When confronted with this, the dentist refused to believe me or cover any part of the now required procedure. More than the confusion over the cause of the crack in my tooth, it really worried me that the dental notes written at this place don't align with reality: that's scary, as they aren't things I review at every routine cleaning. Icing on the cake: I asked for my dental records to move on to a new dentist, and they sent me the dental notes for a different patient, casually violating HIPAA. Go at your own risk.

Dr. Kwon carved out time to see her even though she was not his patient. With great skill and compassion, Dr. Kwon calmed my wife down, took the necessary steps to steps to ensure her healing was without serious complications that required treatment, and proceeded to check in on her through texts and calls over the next several days and weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Kwon for his skill, attention to detail, and most of all for the compassion he has for his patients. Brookline Dental Center is lucky to have him as part of their staff. BTW-My wife is a nurse and I am a physician. We appreciate the importance of trust between a caregiver and a patient, that the caregiver will do their best to help a patient get well. Dr. Kwon excels at the most important aspect of healthcare, building and maintaining that trust.
