I don't know where to begin to explain my wonderful experience with Dr. Melita. I searched for the perfect orthodontist for almost 5 years and I'm beyond happy that I found Dr. Melita right when I was about to give up. The reason for my hesitation was the multiple crowns (one being very visible) in my mouth along with the crowding issue I had. I am opposed to pulling healthy teeth out to make space without first trying to make it work with the existing space. Not even once did Dr. Melita try to change my mind about this nor even later during the treatment did she bring this up ever. She respected it wholeheartedly that I could feel it every time we would talk about next steps in making space to move the teeth around. Another reason why she is be the best Orthodontist to me is is that she worked with my crown so well that I never thought it would look this good to be honest. During the treatment, she allowed for me to go to my dentist to get a temporary crown to reflect the actual position of my teeth to make sure she gets them to the actual positions they need to be as close as possible. Not even once during the treatment have I felt rushed. It felt as if Dr. Melita was giving me the care that she would actually give to her own self. I don't know how I can actually convince anyone via words without knowing me to go and at least have a chat with Dr. Melita but I can tell you this much; I became a bride with braces as I was THAT happy and comfortable with them. I had the option to remove them for the wedding but didn't even bother. And it was Dr. Melita who offered to take them off so I could have my pictures without braces. I can't imagine a single orthodontist ever offering that. Little things matter along with the major PART of getting beautiful results. I took my braces off almost 3 months ago and still waiting to get my permanent crown put on. During this process I'm still in touch with Dr. Melita's office frequently and even after finishing the treatment you must see how much they still care for you to make sure you get on the schedule as soon as possible. I never laughed or smiled as genuinely as I do now and I can't thank enough to Dr. Melita and everyone in her office for making it happen. You make all the waiting worthwhile. read more

Wonderful practice! Dr. Melita is an excellent orthodontist of great skill, with a kind and caring manner that my daughter really loved. Dr. Melita and her staff did an excellent job with my daughter's difficult case that included braces and a palate expander. I am most grateful for her professionalism and prioritization of patient care even during very inconvenient hours. During my child's orthodontal treatment, we had emergencies, unfortunately twice and both happened during the odd hours over weekends. Recognizing Dr. Melita's practice is closed during the weekends, I called Dr. Melita, only hoping to get her advice remotely. Dr. Melita answered my calls immediately, not only providing her advice and explanation but also arranging to treat the emergency situation at her office asap and during her off-work hours! As my first yelp review ever, I wanted to pay homage to one of the most professional, innovative, and caring businesses I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Dr. Melita and her team are truly some of my most favorite people! I'm a thirty-something year old woman who after consulting with a few other orthodontists in the area, met with Dr. Melita and immediately knew I wanted to work with her. I had a complicated case which involved tooth extractions, braces, more tooth extractions and a tooth implant, all on a very precise timeline. All the afore mentioned procedures had to be performed because I was getting married and needed that "perfect smile" for my big day! Dr. Melita and her team worked seamlessly with my oral surgeons and general dentist to make this happen in the very specific timeline I needed... even if it meant someone coming into the office when the office was technically "closed." I liken the process to a beautifully choreographed dance that was perfectly executed by all who were involved... Belmont Orthodontics is worth every penny! The treatment area is newly renovated and very organized. I never felt out of place as an adult obtaining orthodontic treatment here. My treatment was always prompt, personalized and very thorough. Finding an orthodontist was intimidating for us. The dental practice we had always used quoted a very high price for the treatment plans, without being willing to give details on possible additional expenses. Belmont Orthodontics is closer to our home and had excellent reviews, so we arranged for a consultation. To my surprise, this smaller, independent practice offered a price that was nearly 1/3 lower than the local dental school's quote and walked me carefully through the proposed treatment plan, including possible necessary changes, depending on how the treatment progressed. Throughout the three years our kids have been patients, Dr. Melita has done a great job. Our oldest child's braces came off a year ago and her teeth look beautiful. Our youngest child's mouth has been considerably more stubborn and I have appreciated the work Dr. Melita has done to coax his teeth into the correct places. She is personable and on two occasions saw us for emergencies on days when the practice was closed. The front desk staff are always friendly and accommodating of our schedule's restrictions. The biggest "win" is that Dr. Melita and the whole staff are so friendly and treat my 12 year old as her own individual . They work with her directly instead of acting like she is invisible in the room. This makes her feel comfortable and therefore she does not dread coming. read more

I would highly recommend Dr. Melita to any adult needing traditional orthodontics or invisalign. I work full time and she and her staff were always willing to schedule my appointments early in the morning or over lunch. The office is very modern and comfortable. There is a Keurig and free WiFi while you wait (I very rarely had to wait though). She stays involved in the community and usually hosts an ice cream social at the office on opening day of the Sox season. If you're thinking about Invisalign, think about seeing Dr. Melita. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. After taking x-rays and photos, Dr. Melita herself carefully measured the gaps between my teeth and assessed their relative position. Then she proceeded to educate me on the specifics of my teeth placement, size, and bite. Her assessment was actually that no orthodontic treatment was necessary. Dr. Melita and her staff are great! Prior to my treatment, I have visited many orthodontists in the general Boston-Cambridge area to see what different dentists thought about how to approach my treatment. Although many of them had similar ideas and expectations, Dr. Melita was the only one who combined those into a transparent plan and explained all the details with realistic expectations of what I will be going through during and after the treatment. My specific treatment consisted of a year-long invisalign procedure, which they made easy to go through. I knew from the beginning what the end result would look like. Invisalign took some time to get used to at first, but it was easy to keep wearing them especially after I got accustomed to speaking with the aligners and removing them before eating. Most people won't even notice you have them on, which can be a plus every now and then. I honestly believe choosing Belmont Orthodontics was worth the hour-long commute every few weeks since they provided what I thought was the best possible service and treatment. Dr. Melita and her staff are by far the best in the business. As a 30+ year old woman, I was quite reluctant to dive into the world of orthodontia. But after consultation with my dentist, and with Dr. Melita, I realized that correcting my teeth wasn't just about a nice smile, it was about my overall oral health. I had quite a complicated case, which involved multiple tooth extractions, pulling a tooth down, and several small procedures to help close the large gaps created by the extractions. The whole process took just under 3 years, during which time I got pregnant and had my third child, which meant my treatment had to be slightly tailored to accommodate pregnancy. Dr. Melita's office worked with my dentist's office and they made things so easy by helping to schedule dental cleanings around appointments and removing my wires before my cleanings to make it easier for the dental hygienist (and me!). Dr. Melita collaborated so well with my dentist, Dr. Toyias, which just made everything so much easier. I couldn't be happier with the results, and I am so glad I chose to go to Dr. Melita. I knew right away that I wanted her to fix my teeth, and couldn't imagine anyone doing a better job or providing better care than Dr. Melita. She would check in on me after some of the procedures I had just to make sure i doing OK, and she even removed my top braces for my sister's wedding (for 4 days) so that I could smile big and bright without having to worry about the braces.
