I had an implant in 2020 and it looked great at first until I eneded up with an abcess. Dr Chua did the implant, Dr Dowd did a surgery to clean up under the gum tissue of the implant. The problem was due to leaving cotton in the implant core, which led to the abcess. Dr.Dowd tried to resolve the issue, but never did a bone graft during the second surgery. It left my gum bruised looking and food could enter up underneath the gum tissue. I returned once again for help and Dr. Morgan denied cotton had been left, which makes no sense because his colleague did a surgery due to this problem?? He was rude and pulled periodontal floss under the gum causing it to bleed. I'm on blood thinners and have had two open heart surgeries! I just went to another oral surgeon who said there was substantial bone and gum tissue lost costing me another surgery and time off from work. Hopefully, it works or I will need another implant thanks to their negligence.

The office staff and dental associates were very welcoming, professional and caring. Dr. Chuah and Jill, her friendly dental associate, went out of their way to explain the procedure each step of the way and solicit questions. Once my surgery was underway, they were very good about checking in with me to confirm that I was doing okay. Even when Dr. Chuah encountered an unexpected challenge involving a wisdom tooth adjacent to my troublesome molar, she made me feel very much at ease by explaining what had occurred, how she was going to deal with it and then expertly addressing the issue in a most satisfactory way. Specifically, she ended up extracting both my impacted molar and wisdom tooth while maintaining my comfort throughout the procedure. Following my surgery, Dr. Chuah was very helpful in explaining what I needed to do in terms of follow-up and in answering a few questions that I had. Further, I was most impressed that, on the day following my surgery, Dr. Chuah called me herself, just to confirm that I was making a good recovery. In addition to being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Chuah clearly understands just how important clear and frequent communication is in facilitating a good patient experience. This is especially so with respect to oral surgery, which is an inherently stressful and uncertain procedure for most patients. If you need oral surgery, I would strongly encourage you to consider choosing Dr. Chuah and her team. Finally, I am most grateful to be living in an age and place where skilled doctors have the knowledge and resources to remedy so many of our medical problems. What George Washington would have given if he could have traveled through time and had Dr. Chuah address his many debilitating dental woes! Jay L.

It was a HUGE MISTAKE when I chose Concord Lexington Periodontics! Under their (non-existent) care I was subject to pain, infection, and lack of response to messages. It started with four teeth needing to be removed. I was told it would take an hour. It took nearly four! The 4 teeth were wrongly broken up into tiny pieces which had to be extracted 1 by 1. I complained at the time about all the debris going down my throat. 5 days later I was in the ED @ Brigham and Women's Hospital with severe bacterial pneumonia. They kept me there for 5 days! I didn't put it together, but 4 days after she pulled out the remaining teeth, I was back in the hospital again with bacterial pneumonia. They have no emergency phone number, and yet the doctor thought nothing of taking a three-week vacation. She refused to give me painkillers. I was living on amoxicillin, tylenol, and Motrin throughout the 6 week process. I couldn't go back there to finish & get the implants. After the pain and infection she put me through, the bone grafts leaked and it was clear I had to fire her. I went to my dentist who was agast by what he saw and immediately sent me to an oral surgeon to undo the damage that they had done. $2,000 later and I'm still healing from the surgery. NO ONE should go to this practice! It's butchery at its best. The pain, the sloppy work, and the fact that the periodontist herself showed no mercy & rarely returned phone calls and texts is reason enough to STAY AWAY!

There is a new owner, Dr. Verdier. I had been going to this practice for over 35 years (to see Drs…read more Bader and Freedman, who are now are retired) and been pleased about the care. Dr. Verdier's practice will not tell you if their staff has been vaccinated. They say it's government regulations; it's up to the individual workers to say if they are vaccinated; they are not mandated to be vaccinated. The dental assistant (not the hygienist) that was to work on me wore only a surgical mask and we were in a small room. She admitted when asked that she was not vaccinated. I was upset that she was defensive and this put me on the defensive. I refused the procedure which involved pictures of my gums. On a later call to resolve this matter, I was told that the assistant would not even wear an N95 mask, more protective than the surgical mask. The Dr. was also defensive as was the receptionist the front desk, all blaming government regulations. Dr. Verdier told me that maybe his practice is not the right one for me. I found another periodontist, recommended, whose front desk assured me that those working in their office were all vaccinated. Oddly the workers in that office were also not required to say one way or another whether they were vaccinated but at least the practice gave me an assurance they were and welcomed me.

**Total incompetence, wasted time, and zero respect for patients**…read more This dental office is an absolute trainwreck. I had deep cleaning done here two weeks ago, and today I drove out specifically for my follow-up appointments--only to find out **neither the hygienist nor the doctor was even available**. They couldn't be bothered to check their own schedule before letting me show up. Instead, they casually told me to reschedule **another two weeks out** and booked it right there. I leave, already frustrated, and not even 10 minutes later they call me back saying, "Oops, we messed up again--actually you need to come **twice** now: once for the hygienist and once for the doctor." Are you kidding me? No apology, no offer to fix it, just more incompetence piled on top of incompetence. This is the second time they've pulled this kind of stunt with scheduling. First they make you wait weeks, then they waste your entire trip, then they jerk you around with last-second changes after you've already left. I've lost hours of my day, gas money, and any shred of patience dealing with this disorganized circus. Zero accountability, terrible communication, and staff who clearly don't care if patients show up or not. If you're looking for a dental practice that treats you like an afterthought, congratulations--you found it. Everyone else: RUN. Find a place that can actually manage a calendar and respect your time. Never coming back. Avoid this place like the plague.

Huge plus that there is plenty of free parking! The office itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's sleek, simple, and clean. They definitely have all the bells and whistles to make sure patients are comfortable (seriously, you could fall asleep in their chairs) and have the best experience possible. Certainly not your typical visit to the dentist, but the beautiful and up-to-date office isn't what makes the experience so great. In all the time I've known them, it's been very apparent that Dr Oh and Dr Chan truly care about their patients as people, not just their teeth. They're very good at explaining things in a way that is understandable. Like the previous person mentioned, they are also honest and open about their recommendations without being pushy, and take great pride in the care they provide. After having multiple issues with other dentists over the years in multiple areas, it became hard to know who to trust. However, I've never felt more confident in anyone else's care than with them!

If you, literally, don't think you'll survive the drive to Lahey or Mass General then certainly go here. Otherwise, do whatever you can to get to a better hospital. Aside from my own 1-star experiences, I've heard multiple stories of similar experiences of close friends and immediate family getting grossly misdiagnosed by Emerson. Most recently they sent a friend home after a CAT scan with a "concussion" which, fortunately, the Lahey Clinic almost immediately discovered were severe brain lesions. My father was in a car accident where Emerson missed a broken back and concussion - again, fortunately, caught days later by another hospital. It's unfortunate as we live about 2.3 miles away but between our experiences and local paramedics recommending other hospitals, it's simply not worth stopping unless absolutely critical. (Side note: Yelp's, "Not Recommended" reviews for Emerson are worth a read.)
